I was very disappointed with this restaurant and don’t think I will be going back. our waiter was rude and we could not understand him. He came over about every 3 – 4 minute asking if we were ready to order. He then sent over a waitress to ask us if we could order. there was tons of open tables so what the rush was I don’t understand. We decided to share an appetizer prior to our entrees but sharing an appetizer seemed to annoy him. We ordered the marinated artichokes but were served a stuffed artichoke special. I called Over the waiter and said we ordered the marinated artichoke, he said, «it’s not marinated it’s a stuffed artichoke» and walked away. Oh well, we ate it but was a bit annoyed. Service was terrible, food was OK. if your looking for a fine dining experience and want to be served what they want to give you and be rushed by a tag team to order, eat and leave then Ristegios would fit the bill.

The restaurant was good. I had a grilled chicken dish that was good. The bar area was fun. The restaurant was a little pricey.

This review is actually late in coming. I ate here for the first time in December. Date night for me and hubby. The restaurant is beautiful. The night we ate, it was very quiet. Only a few people at tables and the bar had a handful of people. The food was okay. Temperature and taste were fine but nothing to write home about. What really bothered me was the lack of attention from our waitress. Once we had our food, we barely saw her and we waited a good 15 minutes after we were clearly done with our meals for the check. The service clearly lacks compared to the rather high price tag on the food. Would not and won’t be going back.

Sushi was great! The rest of our meal was just okay. My husband ordered the special — Rib Eye and I ordered the Short Ribs. We thought both were bland. In addition the hash browns were seasoned with cinnamon. It did not work for us. The Crème Brulee was delicious. When we left the valet brought us the wrong car but only waited an additional five minutes to get the correct vehicle brought to us. Saturday night and definitely an older crowd. Did not enjoy our visit and probably won’t be returning.

I probably should give one star but the food was good so I’m giving it two. Our waiter disappeared and we waited forever to get another round of drinks. Someone in our party ordered the soup and had to wait 10 minutes for a spoon. We waited an hour for bread and when we asked the waiter he said they ran out and we’re baking more. Horrible service and I will never be going back again.

Just left this place. First time there. Food was great. Got what we paid for. Décor was nice, and staff was decent. Heat was broken. 64 degrees in the main dining area, as displayed on the digital thermostat on the wall. After mentioning it to the manager twice, they refused to move us near the large gas fireplace which was the only source of heat in the place. My steak was great, for 5 minutes, then rapidly dropped in temperature to the point it wasn’t enjoyable. Guess we’ll try it again in August.

Horrible service. Went on Saturday night, tables for 2 are super small café tables and you are sitting so close to the table next to you that you might as well dine with them! Very loud, could barely hear my date. Also, the food was only okay so it wasn’t really worth it. Bar seems cool but didn’t try it out. Unfortunately I would not go back(was really hoping to like it because its local)

Terrible place. Cops always there. Big brawl tonight of 40 people brawling on the floor. Awful. Men and women fighting. Beware.

I spent New Years Eve at this establishment. I must say I was throughly impressed. The building is beautiful. The décor was amazing. Valet parking and coat check. We got there bout 15 minutes before our reservation and were seated promptly. Very friendly waiters/waitresses/servers/bus boys. They had a live funk band called Breaking Point. They played a lot of my favorite r&b songs from the 70s –90s. BTW please hire them again for next year. They were awesome. For our appetizers I had a baked mushroom strudel. It was good. My date ordered the lobster risotto. I tried some of his. It was fabulous. I ordered the surf and turf. Steak with bacon wrapped scallops, scalloped potatoes and asparagus. My meal was to die for. Steak was juicy and tender. Scallops were cooked just right. My date had the shrimp pasta. He wasn’t very impressed. I tried some of his and I wasn’t impressed either. Chocolate torte ala mode for dessert. Wasn’t a fan of the torte. I’ve had better chocolate torte. I washed it down with their blood orange martini. It’s about to be my new favorite drink. I had too many that night and paid for it the next day. They were so good. My only complaints. For $ 85 a person for New Years dinner. At least include a glass of house wine/beer. Stop being cheap with the crostinis on the ceasar salad. Only two? And one of my bacon wrapped scallops the bacon was undercooked it was still white. You really can’t serve your diners undercooked pork. I did enjoy myself and like most of my meal. I will definitely try them again. Just make sure you bring a lot of money. This place is kinda pricey.

Don’t waste your time or money on this place! Me and two of my girlfriends went to restigio’s on a Thursday night. According to a post on their Facebook page, it was ladies night and they offered half priced drink specials. We get there, the bartender greeted us with her attitude and said she knew nothing about it, but asked a guy who was behind the bar with her and he said they haven’t done ladies night in months! Okay what we’ve, we have kids, we rarely et out, we hadn’t seen each other in a few months, so we ordered some drinks, paid full price and carried on with our night. Btw, I ordered an extra dirty martini that was hardly dirty. My girls each had a glass of wine before ordering a bottle. Fast forward to the dining experience. We were seated around 9:30 pm. We perished the menu, ordered some apps and sushi rolls and carried on with our conversation. A few minutes later our waiter returns with a manager, who was arrogant and rude to say the least. He told us we could not have sushi because the regular kitchen closes at 10 and the sushi chefs had already gone home! Nobody told us the kitchen was closing nor did they tell us the sushi would not be an option. In fact, the sushi menu was separate and additional to their regular menu, therefore we should’ve been told it was not an option or we should’ve never been handed a sushi menu in the first place! After my friend pointed these obvious facts out to «arrogant manager» he replied, «thanks for the line, but if you want to order you can pick an entrée from the regular menu before the kitchen closes.» We were floored. Our appetizers arrived. We ordered the cold antipasto platter which consisted of small cubes of cheese, arugula, one small piece of bread, one artichoke heart, and about 3 shards of prosciutto. My friend ordered shrimp scampi which consisted of 3 small shrimp. We also ordered a beet salad and a wedge salad; they were good, but absolutely nothing to brag about! And definitely not worth the money. In the meantime, my friend posted a comment on their facebook page under the ladies night advertisement basically saying that ladies night does not exist at Ristigio’s. We decided not to order food because we were aggravated about the false advertisement, the horrible rude service, the fact that we couldn’t get the food we had ordered, we were ready to leave. As we were leaving, «arrogant manager» basically stopped us at the exit and said he’d taken two appetizers off of our bill in response to him seeing the message posted on Facebook(i had previously pointed the fb post out to the little guy behind the bar who had told the«arrogant manager»). He followed us all the way out the exit door arguing with us to take the Facebook post down and accused my friend of giving him a «lecture» because we were speaking out against the service! We were so appalled. We were treated abusively and the manager did not care if we were satisfied customers. It was almost as if he wanted the challenge. He was so rude and unhelpful. I was dying to try the place after watching the old pat n jims lot be torn up and rebuilt, bigger better and way more beautiful. I saw the menu online, heard mixed reviews, stopped in after work and met mother for some dinner to catch up. Made the reservation for three as I thought my girlfriend could make it but couldn’t and when I got there the hostess rolled her eyes when I said the third wouldn’t be there(seems an odd thing to be annoyed about especially as a lack luster, almost always absent from the stand, hostess. Valet always bothers me but it is what it is. That being said, I don’t like the way they treat your car as if they just stole it off the lot and are going for a joy ride. Walking in it was packed and being cold out I had a light blazer that they kept hounding me to check(another odd thing to hound someone over in a place where everyone was wearing suit jackets and the like on a cold night. We got to the table and I had no idea what to order, the prices made me a little nervous to make sure I order the right thing I guess but I was just in one of those moods, the girl rolled her eyes after asking for water with lemon, that was the first sign I was in for some crappy service, and every question you’d ask the waitress shed roll her eyes more and more. After finally getting an answer to what size on the scallops were(U21) as she said I decided to just order those and the sushi roll. The scallops were fine but not perfect(yes I’m picky & especially that night as you can tell) and when you pay this much for a meal you can get quite regularly from a friendlier staff an awful lot of other places, I want perfect. Nothing here blew my away and the server never came back once the plates were on the table, even 10 minutes after we were done we hadn’t seen our waitress and had to ask two others for our check. It was a busy night but they were well staffed, the staff wasn’t well, they were just well staffed. I’d like to try out the menu but I doubt their execution would be good enough for me to return just to pay an exorbitant amount of money for really poor and downright rude service. I’m always polite especially to a waitress as I know the industry, and tip well regardless, so tipping that night sorta stunk as I don’t feel she deserved even the full 20% on this overpriced experience. I’ve only been that one time, maybe it was a fluke I don’t know.

Restaurant provides a nicely varied menu. Something for everyone and good for when you have multiple people in your party who all would like something different. Steaks, sushi, pasta, fish. Etc. While waiting to be served and after being seated, I couldn’t help but notice that the service seemed like they were stepping on each other’s feet. Quite a few times I saw the wait staff physically running into each other while serving other tables and running around. There didn’t seem to be an assigned waiter to each table, there were two. You’d think that’s a good thing, but I saw a few times when follow up should have happened and it wasn’t. I had to stop one of them and ask for them to take our drink order or actual dinner order. It wasn’t impatience on my part, because I waited for a while. Overall it was a good expierence for a busy Saturday night, but it could have been better. I’ll try it again in the future and see if anything changes.

So I watched this place go thru construction back before they opened. I remember telling my wife numerous times that we would be going to check this spot out the week they opened. Bad reviews from the opening week regretfully held us back. This past weekend some friends invited us to join at Ristegio’s so we jumped on the offer. With such a large sushi offering, I figured this trip would be solely to try that side of the menu. I started with Yellowtail Jalapeño but asked for Tuna instead. Also tried the Pepper Tuna roll and Coconut Shrimp roll. Everything was delicious. Also tried their CR Cyclone cocktail which was really good. Service was 4 – 5 stars. Very attentive and on point. Ambiance was 4 – 5 stars. This place is worth checking out. Next time Ill venture towards the regular menu.

Again i tried to like this place, and after 10 attempts the service is just bad… the food way over priced for what you get. for example. I ordered the special Mai hi and i barely got a 4 oz piece. not qualified for a dinner. not even for an appetizer. My Daughter had the Lobster Parppardelle, it was just not good… Down right Terrible My son had a NY Strip Med rare. over cooked AGAIN, they Can Not cook steak… It just does NOT work for this PRICE… My advise Don’t Waste your Money… Do not Valet your car. they lost my keys and the 2 people waiting in front of me. It Took over an hour before i just couldn’t take it and found my keys strewn on the bottom of the box… just Totally Unprofessional… Don’t Waste your time. There are So many better Restaurants. In Oakdale and Islip…

Well, It was«O-kay». Was I blown away? No, not so much. I will say the interior of that place is really well done. Excellent décor. But the reason we all go to these places is for a nice night out, Or maybe you’re trying to impress someone. I didn’t like the fact the valet attendant stalled my car out twice. I had asked if I could park it myself, that I’d even tip them for their trouble. They didn’t allow it. They insisted on handling it themselves. The food is good, however it didn’t impress me to much. I felt like I paid top dollar for home style cooking, with«flare» Would I go back? Yes, I think it deserves another try. However next time i’ll find a different ride there.

The place itself is very nice. Very cool feel to it and it is decorated great. Last night they had an amazing band that really rocked. It was very loud, but for me I had no issue, because the music was spot on! Great atmosphere and a fun place to go. The food however was mediocre at best and the service was lacking. It was very expensive for food that didn’t measure up. I would certainly go again for drinks and to hang out, but no way would I ever eat a real meal there again.

Having a great time! The food is excellent, the music by West Avenue Jazz is fantastic and the service by Danny is excellent. What’s not to love? P. S. For anyone that needs to know: they have an excellent Handicapped Accessible Restroom and access into the restaurant. Very pleased with this myself.

I expected beautiful! A careful reading of Unilocal reviews and the only unanimous opinion was that Ristegio’s was a beautiful place to dine. As far as the food and service, everyone seemed to have a different opinion. For one Unilocal reviewer this is the absolute best restaurant on Long Island — for others it was just disappointing. One and two star reviews because the valet was not quick enough or because the prices were higher than expected. Well kids, after a very pleasant midweek dinner I’d like to put in my two cents… I did get beautiful — Ristegio’s is like a miniature Scotto restaurant.(Blackstone, Insignia, etc.) The place is sleek, clean and modern, and you immediately know that you are in for an upscale experience. We were greeted warmly and taken to a very comfortable table. Our waiter seemed inexperienced, but he was earnest and tried very hard to please. The menu is varied and the prices are moderate.(Anyone who says otherwise hasn’t been to the steakhouses they always name.) We tried four apps and four entrees — very few problems. Yes, the breadbasket is weak and should be improved. Yes, my lobster cake special was too bready.(But it still was very tasty.) The one real problem was that some of the entrees were slightly overcooked. Not enough to be a problem but enough to keep this from a five star experience. Donuts for desert were more like the cronuts that are the hit of the NYC restaurant scene and should be a must.
