Budget Buy and Sell

This place and its staff were the worse. Apparently, on a Sunday, they don’t put out any jewelry to sell. The cases and front window were completely empty. Who does that and how do they stay in business? The man who worked behind the counter was rude. I would never go back to this place. There was an overwhelming sense of shadiness about the place. It gave me the creeps.

Every time I see the commercial for this horrible store I get so angry ! Around 15 yrs ago I went to these thieves to sell a gold Chain, which I did. I also wanted to get my engagement ring resized … The guy behind the counter took the ring into the back to «look at it», only 5 minutes or so, then returned to me and told me they would have to send it out to get sized. (I was young and dumb back then… I left the store, thinking «oh well!»
Then I took my ring to the flea market to one of the jewelers to get resized there … The jeweler then told me «miss, this isn’t a real diamond » !!! THAT BASTARD T BUDGET BUY & SELL STOLE MY DIAMoND!!! Swapped it with a QZ so fast I didn’t even notice! I’d like to throw a rock in their window every time I pass by that fucking store. STAY AWaY from them please!!!

I have lived in Suffolk County for 10 years, thru the years I gad ALWAYS seen TV commercials from «BUDGET BUY AND SELL» and had also been told by life long residents to go their for anything from buying jewelry to selling different broken or unwanted gold, silver etc. I have had nothing but incredible customer service and total satisfaction with each and every purchase but also in the amount of money I was paid for my scrap gold and/​or jewelry pieces I no longer wanted and yesterday was an experience that inspired me to leave a review like no other review I’ve ever left. The owners and partners and employees at budget buy and sell are honest and have more integrity than any jeweler or p*** shop I’ve ever come in contact with in my life. My first husband was a diamond importer in New York City and taught me a lot about diamonds and the jewelry business, I’m writing this review because I had an experience yesterday that proved to me there is no other place like Budget buy n sell in the industry at least not on long Island and I would go as far as to say the five boroughs Westchester and Rockland as well, I have lived in all of those places. I went to a jeweler and I’m not comfortable saying which one and showed them a diamond that belonged to my Mom. I brought them watch I had bought from budget buy and sell to have them repair the watch band that I had bought from them less than a month prior (the watch man sold me the band, not budget buy n sell) and it broke after the first time it was worn I was told by this man who’s a watch expert that the Movado watch I had bought from budget buy and sell was an excellent time piece because a lot of the time pieces when they open up the back of the watch they discover it’s either a knock off or a poorly made Mavado possibly made in China however the watch I had purchased was an excellent time piece in excellent condition and I was sold the watch with the original box and all of the original paperwork inside the price I paid startled the man I was buying the watch band from as he said I did magnificent in my dealings with Chris at budget buy and sell. here comes the interesting part I gave him my ring and also another piece of jewelry that was 14 karat gold (I always get a few estimates when I do this) he made me an offer I told him I didn’t feel comfortable doing business with him that my jewlers are budget buy and sell, but I would compare the offers and come back to him, as he was getting me a new watch band!) (by the way one of the main owners at budget is a GIA expert graduate, I believe it was his father that started this business)
not only was I offered 4 times more for the ring but also I was offered 260.00 for the gold by the jewler that I will not name and Budget buy and sell offered me 368.00… one last thing that blew my mind I knew my mother’s ring was platinum the man who shall remain nameless told me it was platinum plated.
it was not it was platinum whether or not I went through the sale of my jewelry is of no consequence in my review I just wanted to put in a review on a business that advertises years of integrity and honesty and that’s with budget buy and sell is the most amazing honest reputable store that deals with many many different things not just jewlery. I WILL NEVER SHOP OR SELL ANY WHERE ELSE.

I decided to clean out my jewelry box and found quite a few pieces that were broken or just outdated, so I decided to sell them. I’ve seen the commercials, and also have driven by the clock in Patchogue and seen the shop. I liked that they advertised it being family owned, and how they treated their customers like family. Well, let me tell ya my family is not perfect, but we certainly do not treat each other the way I was treated! Horrible!
I told the young man behind the counter that I had a few pieces I was considering selling, his demeanor and attitude was that of someone who did not want to be where he was, or do what he was doing. He was curt, disinterested, and down right disrespectful. He handled my jewelry like it burned his skin to touch it. I would NEVER go there again. They low balled the value (I had looked up the current price of gold per gram and also weighed my jewelry before I went) he was off by over $ 150. This guy was so full of himself there was not enough room in the store for anyone else!
These shops are all over LI. If you do your homework and check market prices before you go you won’t get taken.
I feel bad for his family if that’s how he treats them

Pretty happy w/​my selling of an old ring. I was offered a ‘lil’ more $ elsewhere,. …but then they almost matched it! I took the deal, i don’t need to drive an extra 1 – 2 hours for an extra $ 100. Thank you, guys, i now get to buy new tires on my truck… w/​money to spare! P. S. friendly & seem to be honest guys. I told them i will also send my family there. Beautiful stuff!!!

I was looking for a nice watch as a graduation gift
and I am not talking timex or seiko
I came into budget knowing this is a pawn place but the windows always look filled with nice things to buy
I go on in
cases filled with rings bracelets diamonds you name it
I am immediately greeted by a friendly man
I say I need a nice watch for a teenage boy
I say I m thinking citizen
well they have the rolexs and the omegas clearly not my budget
they also have invicta which is not for me either
and there it is the one citizen in the shop
it looks new its in its original box
I see the price the man says how about 10 bucks cheaper I say you got a deal
They even check the battery and the time
on a side note a woman next to me is peering into the diamond ring filled case remarking oh all the poor people that sold their rings… now now mam
not everyone sells a piece of jewelry because they are «poor» sometimes they hate the piece or their great aunt Lucinda died and left them a ring they don’t want
I have no problem dealing a pawn either side
and for sure if your looking for something nice but can’t afford new go on in

Had to sell gold for a friend and they had offered the best price. Only other place to offer as good a price was New World Rarities in Hauppauge. Don’t wast time with friends’ «gold parties».

I visited this store today based on the Unilocal reviews. I’ve always been a fan of using Craigslist to find second hand electronics over going to pawn shops, because I find them overpriced, always low in stock of anything I’m ever looking for, and the «what you want» stare is consistent from the folks behind the counter.
This place isn’t much different, except it’s TINY. I guess if you need to pawn something, you can go there and do it, and it’s a cute neighborhood, but the place across the street is much larger and more inviting.

Always fair and honest with me every time I have been there. Tested them a few times with gold and silver to see if they were being honest with me as to how much it weighed, how much it was worth and what a fair offer price was. They passed every time cant go wrong here. Sometimes they have a little bit of an attitude but it is expected, im sure they have to deal with a bunch of rude and obnoxious people on a daily basis. If you have jewelry to sell come here DO NOT GO TO GOLD PALACE ACROSS THE STREET that place is a complete rip off. I had a necklace to sell recently gold palace offered me $ 350 walked across the street to budget and got over $ 500. This is the place to go.

Budget Buy and Sell is a fine pawn shop on the southeast of Patchogue’s Famous Four Corners. If it can be stolen or a dude could live without it, you can find it here. They don’t fill the shelves with cheap knockoffs.. . pretty much everything is second hand and so the stock changes, DVD’s, video games, drills, tools, watches, MP3 players, cameras, jewelry. A great place for used instruments and gear.. . Budget is currently stocking a Dimebag-​styled Dean ML, a white Jeff Beck Strat, and an old– school Hamer Flying V. If you’re looking for a «Grunge» pedal check this place out, as there is a Digitech model and three DOD’s under the glass.
