Patagonia is a great town to visit all year long. In the summer you are looking at 10 degrees cooler than Tucson with green grass, big trees and a lot going on. We stopped by The Home Plate Restaurant for breakfast and the food was great! No complaints.

We ate here after a serious night of wine tasting. The food was much needed! They had standard breakfast fare and the portions were massive, which again, was appreciated. The sever was attentive and friendly and checked on everyone in the place frequently. She had coffee coming before we even asked for refills :) We were happy with our experience — if you’re heading through town, make a quick stop here for a bite to eat.

Terrible service. Just terrible. When I asked if they still served breakfast, the«hostess» said«I don’t know» And walked away never coming back. When I asked the«owner/manager/waitress/who ever she was» the same question we was told no. I asked TWICE for a refill for my drink, NEVER got it. There was 8 people inside when we was there, 6 of them was already eating or had empty plates in front of them, we waited 30 minutes for our lunch. As we was about finished with our lunch a local group of about 8 walked in, and the same«owner/manager/waitress/who ever she was» while standing no more then 4′ away from me, OFFERSTOMAKETHEMBREAKFAST. Do Not waste your time since that’s all you will get, wasted time.

The Home Plate was a nice stop on our motorcycle ride through Patagoinia. Our waitress was friendly enough and the food was tasty, but for the price I would have thought I would have gotten a little more food. The place is large enough for our group of 8, yet there were plenty small tables for those who want something a little more intimate.

I ride with a couple different motorcycle groups. Patagonia is a good ride and maybe its cause there aren’t to many places around and they are on the main drag, but we always wind up here. come to think of it, its probably cause the food is good and they are very accommodating to our large groups. As a waiter I know how irritating it is when a group come in and everyoine wants seperate checks. I also know that it is what it is and it’s going to happen. The servers at this joint know our groups and never ask about«all on one check?», secretley hoping it is. Instead, as they take the drink orders, they ask«just you on this check?» Sounds crazy, but they never complain and always take care of us with a smille. The food. I have only ordered the burgers here and I really love them. No one has ever complained about the food though and everyone seems to like it. I can’t remember of anyone ever suggesting a new place to try for one of our rides when we come to Patagonia. I think that’s saying something. I do have one little complaint… nope never mind, I was mistaken. Great burgers and good prices, with a friendly accommodating staff. I’m in

For a truly ‘Down Home’ experience check this place out. Décor is BASEBALL, many local patrons, very laid back dining experience. While not on the radar for anything ‘gourmet’ they have INCREDIBLE burgers. You can hear the radio in the kitchen and if the mood & song is right you might even hear a sing-a-long as your burger is handformed and chargrilled to beefy perfection.

After exploring the back roads of Patagonia, cruising into town and looking for a place to grab a quick lunch, we found The Home Plate. It was empty except for us but our server was very friendly and welcoming. And yep, it has a delightful baseball décor throughout the dining area. Somebody there really loves the Cubs. We had some cheese sandwiches and shrimp with fries and it was pretty typical café food. Filled the tummy but didn’t make me yearn to return. They actually had a vegetarian section of the menu and we suggested they add a veggie burger to their choices. That would be nice. I would certainly eat here again on any return visit to Patagonia.

Hearty breakfasts and fluffy pancakes. Service is friendly. I might not write home about it, but it’s a fine, filling spot.
