My wife and I just spent three nights at Seven Quails Vineyard and B & B. Our hosts, Dave and Karina have definitely«raised the bar» when it comes to operating a B & B. We stayed in the Room With A View which is tastefully decorated with wonderful art work and some first rate antique furniture. Our large modern bathroom had all the amenities needed for our stay. Of course the view of the surrounding vineyards and hillside was teriffic. Dave and Karina are the perfect hosts and made us feel right at home. It wasn’t long before we felt we had now made new friends in the Paso Robles area. Dave is an excellent cook. He prepared marvelous breakfasts that one would only expect to find in a first rate hotel or restaurant. Dave’s Garage Wine, only available at the B & B was as good as most and better then some that we tasted at nearby wineries and very reasonably priced. We look forward to return visits to Seven Quails anytime we are in the Paso Robles area.

Seven Quails was so much more than we expected! It’s a beautiful B & B, in the heart of Paso wine country, with the most wonderful hosts imaginable! Dave and Karina make you feel at home and genuinely cared for from the moment you arrive. Breakfast is a multi-course meal at Seven Quails; beautifully presented, delicious, prepared with the freshest ingredients … and guests dine while surrounded by exquisite vineyard views. Karina and Dave are also knowledgable about the area and made some excellent suggestions for wineries to visit, etc. Our only regret was not staying longer, but we will be back the next possible chance we get!

We stayed here recently and it was fantastic. Dave and Corrina were excellent hosts. The food was fantastic. This is a homey place that feels as if your at a warm friends house.

This is the easiest review to write because this is an amazing place. Dave and Karina are the ideal hosts, thoughtful beyond any reasonable expectation, they always made sure everyone in my family had exactly what they wanted. For example, we brought food in from town for dinner, Dave insisted on bringing us proper plates and cutlery. That’s the perfect example of everything they do and their lovely home, it’s all first class. My wife and I stayed in Sunnyside Up, our son had the attached Owl House, absolutely ideal. Breakfasts were fantastic and decadent. With all the amazing restaurants Paso has now and this lovely B&B 10 minutes away, watching the sun set from this house is truly an event, we just had a perfect stay, can’t wait to get back!

The propert is gorgeous — quiet and spacious. It’s on top of a hill, so the views are just breathtaking. We had the Room with a View, and we enjoyed it a lot. There are trees right outside, along with an herb garden and of course, all the vines. We enjoyed staying up every night and watching the stars. The location of this inn is very convenient as well. It’s about 5 miles away from downtown Paso and not far at all from a lot of other wineries. There is a lot of wildlife around the property, which is something that we hardly ever experience living in a big city! We showed up late on a Friday night, and Dave and Karina made us feel right at home — welcoming us with wine and settling us in. The three-course breakfasts in the mornings were awesome! Dave and Karina’s hospitality is as good as it gets. We had long chats with them, and they felt more like old friends than hosts. We can’t wait to go back — this place is a real gem! This was our third trip to Paso Robles, and our first time staying at Seven Quails. When we told Dave this, he said«What took you so long to find us?» We asked ourselves the same question.

My husband and I stayed here for our first anniversary and we were not disappointed! Karina and Dave were such wonderful hosts and took great care of us during our stay in this beautiful wine country. They were very knowledgable about the area and had many great recommendations. They prepared a spectacular breakfast for us each morning and had wine and snacks ready for us when we came home. Their inn is very clean and cozy and we felt most at home there!

This was the first B&B we’ve(GF and I) ever stayed at and we could not have had a better experience. So much so that I am nervous no other B&B will compare… Dave and Karina are incredible people and the food(all fresh and made by them) was amazing… I could go on and on… simply said, if you can get a reservation — go.

What a great find Seven Quails is. After a long day exploring the Paso Robles wine country, driving back to this magical haven by way of off-the-beaten-track roads through vineyards and orchards is perfect for the soul! And what an amazing view this hilltop abode has — 360° of beauty. Dave and Karina couldn’t be better hosts — and very talented chefs they are too. Their afternoon nibbles and breakfasts are really something special. The Room With A View is nice and large with an amazing well-appointed bathroom. It has its own patio outside for taking in the view while enjoying their wonderful French-pressed coffee in the morning. Highly recommended.(But keep it a secret!)

i had the pleasure of staying at seven quails last year for my birthday/race weekend. this is the FIRST B&B i’ve ever stayed at and had the most awesome experience. we were welcomed with cheese, meat and wine upon arrival. not only was it in wine country but it was still close enough to main streets of paso robles for us to venture out. i had the best sleep i’ve ever had away from home, and the cleanliness for one is definitely better than most 5 star hotels. my boyfriend and i traveled with another couple and saw a welcome sign with everyone’s name. we were so happy to meet and chat with the two innkeepers(dave and karina). as soon as we walked in, they were the most hospitable innkeepers EVER!!! the morning of our race, Dave and Karina woke up earlier than usual to make myself and the other runners pre race breakfast and had a post race breakfast ready for is when we returned… Dave used to run races in the past and knew exactly what we needed. we stayed for two nights and definitely did not want to leave. they have a dog that is an indoor dog that was super friendly. after a night out, we came back to the b&b and the innkeepers were up prepping for the morning which really impressed us on how much pride they put into their home and business. they even stayed up late with us playing games… i can go on forever with how much i loved it there. the minute you walk in you feel welcomed and can definitely feel the positive and loving vibes. there were absolutely no flaws in our stay and i recommend them anytime someone mentions they are going up north. oh and you get to purchase wine that they make there. i really hope to go back this year and many more years to come. seven quails definitely raised the b&b bar! it’s unfortunate that other b&b i’ve stayed at were not up to par and failed miserably in all categories for hospitality and cleanliness. p. s. they are obviously THEBESTINTHEBUSINESS so be sure to book in advance because they book up fast. definitely soak up the country and nature all around. this is definitely an escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Seven quails is just wonderful! Dave and Karina are amazing hosts — the perfect combination of warm and welcoming while being discreet and respectful of privacy. The grounds are a slice of heaven. After a long day of drinking(delicious!) paso wine, coming back to the cozy vineyard was a delight. We had an evening picnic in the rows of vines with charcuterie and a bottle of wine we picked up during the day. Our little 10 month old son played on the picnic blanket while we indulged in a glass of esprit de tablas while watching the sun set over the rolling hills of grapes and walnut trees. After the sun went down, we lounged lazily in the main room where Karina found us and brought out warm baked peach crisp and tea(she offered desert wine but we were all wined out!). Morning started with a French press coffee and delicious 3-course breakfast(especially the second morning where Dave prepared an amazing mexican feast). The rooms are impeccable, the bed soft, the towels fluffy and more bottled water and snack then we could get through. There is a mini-fridge where we cooled our whites. I can’t think of a better way to spend our weekend. This is the first time we have stayed at a bed and breakfast — it will now be our first pick place to stay on our future trips to paso!

We(two couples) had a wonderful 3-night stay at Seven Quails. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable, and the setting is breath-taking. Close enough to town for convenience, yet far away enough to feel like you are getting away from everything. The views from the hilltop where the house sits are lovely — you can see sunrise and sunset. Dave and Karina were wonderful hosts. Dave’s wine is really good(better than most of the wineries we visited) and he gave us a great lesson in proper tasting, as well as resourceful referrals to must-see places in the area. Karina’s breakfasts are amazing. Truly 3-course culinary adventures. We were amazed at the creativity and deliciousness every morning. We will definitely be back. We’ve already recommended Seven Quails to a few friends. You can’t beat the experience

This quaint house on the hilltop was just a delight! It has great reviews on every single peer-review site, and it lived up to the expectations. It’s not a place that is necessarily the most luxurious in terms of the room or bathroom. However, you get a very personalized experience from the gracious hosts. First of all, to find this place, once you turn into the driveway from the main road, you still have a ways to go. Pass the brick gates and go straight(you will see a cute drawing of a quail) instead of turning right, which takes you to the actual vineyard itself. When you approach the house, there is another set of gates. Press the red button on the left and gate will open up. You can then pull up to the loop on the left and park right by the house. The house itself is large. The hosts live in one section, while the guests live in a separate section. You definitely have your privacy. I stayed in the room up front. What was really nice was that you got a comfortable bedroom(really comfortable bed), your own bathroom, and then the adjacent room as well with a sitting couch that is big enough to also function as a bed if you want. The common area is beautiful with expansive views to the rolling hills and vineyards that characterize Paso Robles. But the best part of this place are the hosts. They are a very cultured couple who sit down with their guests around 5pm daily for a wine and cheese session(complimentary), and where you get to chat with the other guests. We had a wonderful experience. The wine from the vineyard is delicious(zinfandel!) as well as the cheeses. We ended up getting 6 bottles of wine when we left. Even more amazing is the breakfast, which is different everyday. Between the mushroom and potato omelette to poached pear to kumquat liqueur, you get to try amazing dishes. One of the hosts was a chef in a past life, so you get 5-star quality food here. Make lunch plans late… Highly recommend!

Amazing bed and breakfast. The owners really know to make things uniquely special. The food is fantastic. The views from their hilltop are fantastic. We loved our«room with a view» and waking up to the sunrise. Our trip turned out to be our engagement trip and I can’t imagine a better place to stay, celebrate, and enjoy. Highly highly recommend to anyone!

My husband and I stayed at Seven Quails B & B in mid-September. David and Karina’s lovely home, picturesque vineyard setting, Zinfandel and cheese reception, and gourmet, multi-course breakfasts were delightful. The gracious hospitality of the hosts and the star-filled skies contributed to a weekend that was inspiring, relaxing and revitalizing. We can’t wait to come back with friends or family! My husband and I just returned from a three night stay at Seven Quails. We felt as though we were beautifully entertained in our friends’ hilltop home. Other reviewers have mentioned«Room with a View;» we stayed in «Sunnyside Up.» It was a large, open and airy room with plenty of space to stack boxes full of the wine we purchased :) Since we were on a quiet hilltop, we could open our windows at night to feel the cool breezes. My husband and I requested gluten free; Karina and Dave easily accommodated us. Along with French press coffee, Karina even put out gluten free morning nibbles. The gourmet breakfasts used local ingredients and were beautifully presented on a warm plate… nice touch. The location is perfect. Driving to downtown Paso Robles for dinner was easy, and we were close to the wineries as well. Thank you, Dave and Karina; we can’t wait to return!

Seven Quails is a very well run B&B with owners that really aim to please. It is perched atop a hill overlooking almond trees and vineyards. There are only two or three rooms so it is very much like staying in a home. The owners, Dave and Karina, are great people with a varied background. They are very interesting to talk with and can give excellent advice for travel in the area. The food is creative and well prepared using local ingredients. The snack time included some barrel tastings of Dave’s wine, which was quite good. This is better choice than staying Paso Robles, in that it is peaceful, secluded, and close to the vineyards. We would definitely return.

We lucked out on a trip to the coast and found a room for two nights at Seven Quails. So many B&B’s have five stars on Unilocal in this area — we basically just called around until we found one with vacancy. And what a good find! This place is located on a remote back road — even the GPS can’t really find it — and SURROUNDED by vineyards. We stayed in ‘A Room With A View’ which is the bigger &(we think) better of the two available rooms. The bathroom is HUGE, and the french doors in the back overlook the vineyard — like a completely private vista. No TV or Internet, but tons of books, a huge bathtub and a countryside filled with vineyards kept us busy for two full days. The bed was super comfortable and I got the best sleep I’ve had in a long time. We were most impressed by the breakfast — it really is first class. They were also extremely accommodating of my distaste for sugar and made a few things special for me. If you really want a super relaxing, friendly getaway, this place is perfect! Note to travelers: they only take personal checks!

Ideal and amazing b&b that is also a growing vineyard. No con’s, just pro’s. Before we arrived, they sent pages(!) of recommendations and directions.(Oh, and most GPS show them to be about a quarter-mile short of where they are; keep going to the end of the road!). Excellent start to winery research, and local food rec’s, too. When we arrived, we were ushered into the garage(via O and K, their English black labs — undeniably cute) for a barrel tasting. BARRELTASTING. In years of wine vacations, I’ve never been offered for sale, never mind welcomed with cheese and snacks, to a barrel tasting. Snacks, conversation, and teaching abot the wine making process. The teaching was probably only because I was so unappologetically interested, but again, in years, no ones ever showed me how a brix or PH counter worked. Oh, and the wine? I plan on strong arming them into letting me buy the 2006 and 2007. They barrel age for 2 – 3 years(!), and it lends wonderful cola and chocolate notes. Then the room — holey snikies. We splurged cuz it was so reasonable, and Always will when we come back. The sliding glass door at the for foot of the bed that overlooks he vineyard, the huge bathroom we’re photo-documenting to someday model ours after, and the gourmet breakfasts — unbelievable. Dave makes the eggs and Karina bakes each morning. It’s teamwork at it’s finest. Oh, and as a coffee snob, that was great, too! Clearly, can’t say enough about this place, and couldn’t be happier the fiancé found them.
