Awesome wines. Several varietals, a few unique blends … And all are very, very good… Bill and Kim Powell are so nice, knowledgeable and dedicated to bringing the best Paso wines to everyone. We are wine club members and very happy with them!

Crazy Bill led us on a adventure through the best wines of Paso. His Syrah and Grenache are world class with no holds barred. His native yeast program which he is tooooo proud of is really world class. He is so passionate with his creation it’s really a honor to hear him express himself.

We met Kim and Bill at a wine tasting event in So Cal. about two years ago. From the first tasting we loved their wines. The red blends are our favorites but all the wines are really great. Go by the tasting room and judge for yourself. Once you’re hooked, join the wine club and save some money.

If you are in Paso Robles, spending time at Powell Mountain Cellars tasting room will be a wonderful experience. Excellent wine, lovely atmosphere and most of all visiting with Bill and Kim really make for a great wine tasting experience. They put so much care and passion into the art of wine making and they make you feel so welcome when you are there. Bill is quite entertaining too and so knowledgeable, you can sit and talk for hours as you sip. Look forward to my next visit and bringing home some of their unique blends to share with my peeps.

Have you ever tasted wine that was deep, rich, complicated, yet, so enjoyable? That is I how I feel about the wine at Powell Mountain Cellars. My favorite is the Ascent a red blend. The Powells, (Bill and Kim) aren’t your typical small boutique hobbiest winemakers. You can taste the passion that goes into making each bottle. Get your hands on a bottle or two and if you can afford to do so add some of this fine wine to your collection. They are a well– kept secret, yet they are here. So spread the word and enjoy!

Hard to find the winery, even harder to find the wine anyplace else. The first bottle we enjoyed was at a small restaurant in San Diego. As we drove home, I called Hi Time, total wine etc to see if they carried the wine. No luck. I joined the wine club the next day and have enjoyed the wine ever since. The price point is not my everyday wine but I do think it is exceptional wine for special occasions. I just had 3 Christmas orders sent to friends in Ca. The can only ship to Ca. Bill signed one of the bottles in each shipment. The personal touch that Kim and Bill provide will make your experience very enjoyable.

The cabernet here is very good. It’s a reasonable price for the quality you get. I also found the owners to be super friendly and knowledgeable about their product. Kim was quite helpful. I am not a wine expert, but from what I learned, the owners do not have a highly mechanized process. This is a more traditional wine. It tastes wonderful. Don’t be fooled by the small off the beaten path location. They’re located within walking distance to several other small wineries that are all worth a taste.

This is a new location for Powell Mountain Cellars and Kim and Bill have done a great job setting up a comfortable and casual venue for tasting their wines.
Powell Mountain offers nine varieties of wine with my favorite being the Cabernet Sauvignon. Bill is very knowledgeable and is able to answer any questions regarding the wines they serve. If you have any special requests, Kim is a great hostess and will always do her best to accommodate.
I highly recommend dropping by or setting up an appointment to go by Powell Mountain Cellars if you are in Paso Robles and are interested in doing any wine tasting!
