After coming here in New Year’s Eve, this has become one of my favorite wineries in Paso Robles. Every wine I tried was good. I’m usually not a fan of Viogner, but their Viogner was crisp, a lovely combination of acid to cut through rich meals, but some sweetness to ensure a balanced rather than harsh edge. I also found the red wines to have some nice minerality and spice flavors along with the fruit flavors that dominate most California wines. I particularly enjoyed the Altas Vinas blend, a mouvedre and grenache blend with lovely cedar, cinnamon tones. It has medium tannins, giving you a nice mouth feel without the puckering really high tannin wines give you. I liked the Sel de la Terre wine as well, but I enjoyed the moderate fruit flavors of the Altas Vinas more. This wine has strong cocoa and leather flavors to me with hints of fruit. This is a 100 percent grenache wine. Still, it would be a great wine with food. And this is exactly the type of wine Robert Parker haters(you know who you are) would like. The other wines were also amazing, but stood out to me less. The service here was also excellent with knowledgeable staff. I’ll be back.

Small-and-simple tasting room, with a couple of small tables out front. Pleasant-enough staff. Their $ 10 tasting fee(5 samples) is waived with the purchase of 2 bottles. We left with their 2013 Larner Viognier and their 2012 Sel de la Terre Grenache.

My wife and I visited the Paso area a year ago and were impressed with the excellent blends that McPrice has created. As a result, we joined the McPrice Myers wine club and look forward to our auto shipments. Having returned from the Bordeaux region of France, three week ago – I need to say that McPrice’s wines compare well, and to my taste, rank in the top 5% of the 8000+wineries in the Bordeaux region. Our latest shipment from McPrice Myers arrived Friday and WaaaHooo I am excited to begin the next McPrice Myers tasting journey.

I have been a member of the wine club since 2007. I have watched the operation evolve and grow. Introduce yourself to some of the best that is available in Paso Robles. Cheers!

The wine is made locally and there are some different varietals being used in the production of the wine. The style is peppery and spicy on all their wines, so for those looking for that taste, this is the spot. We tasted nine wines and settled on 2010 Head Over Heels Moscato. A fun white wine for summer. Huge clean, orange nose without the cloying sweetness normally associated with Muscat grapes. Really full, clean palate of the orange and a touch of spiciness. Big finish with an increased spice that was unexpected and very nice. This has much of the character of Muscat without any of the normally nasty parts of Muscat. This is a winner at $ 24/bottle — bought it and happy we did. Mucho thumbs up.
