When out there on a Friday, checked web site and stated it was open, in fact they were not. Employee was very rude when we asked about the restaurant hours. Don’t think I will be going back out:(

Had lunch here recently on a Saturday afternoon. Food was decent, nothing special, but not bad. I ordered the chicken sandwich, which said it came with cheddar cheese and it was served with American, which is disgusting and I can not stand eating. It also didn’t say anything about coming with caramelized onions melted into the cheese, which I cannot eat due to stomach issues. Other then that it tasted good and fresh. The bun was straight out of the bag, could have been buttered and grilled if it was me. Wine was decently priced. There are small details that could make it much better, but in no means a bad place.

Killer fries and the crispy thin chips with seasoning rock! Great Caesar salad with homemade dressing and crispy chicken. We had fun with the 80’s music and good beer.

We decided to give this place a try because it’s under new management with a new menu. Last year we ate here and ordered an appetizer, two side salads, two soft drinks, and two entrees; total cost was just under $ 80. Tonight we went in and tried ordering pretty much the same thing and we walked out paying right under $ 25. The staff was AMAZING, our glasses were always full. Right now it is a very LIMITED menu(burgers, hotdogs, sandwiches) but after talking with our server she said a new menu would be coming out in a few days. We are hoping for at least a couple of more dinner choices(pasta, meat other than hamburger) in case we’re not in the mood for a burger and fries. The only NEGATIVE thing was there were no affordable side salad choices. I could forgo my french fries with my burger and get one OR I would have to pay $ 8 for a regular salad. This place so far seems off to a great start and I am looking forward to trying them in another couple of weeks when the new menu comes out.

First night at the lake we rewarded ourselves with a dinner out and glass of wine on the deck of the Dragon Lake Grill. Pet friendly and good service, I was happy to have a great meal and relax! Good Burgers, fun sweet potato fries and good wine. What else would you need while over looking the lake and watching the sun go down!!!

We had dinner here our first night at the lake because we didn’t pack no rations. Glad the restaunt was there, but it wasn’t anything to get excited about for next time. There is an air conditioned inside which is nice considering the blistering 105 degree mid August heat. There is also a large patio outside to soak in the Sunset and the blaring heat! Cold beer on tap, Pronto! I wasn’t familiar with a Goose Island brew($ 5) so asked the, maybe not old enough to drink yet server and she said IPA, perfect. When it arrived it wasn’t an IPA(wheat), but it was super cold and fresh tasting so a win. The menu is pretty limited, burgers, chili and salads and a few more. The kids and I ordered chili and they were very nice to sub french fries for the corn bread. The fries were great, the chili($ 8) was good and the corn bread was a tiny little burnt on the bottom muffin not much flavor. My wife had a burger($ 11) no complaints no compliments. Side note, I ordered the fish tacos(3 for $ 11) and one of the other diners said they were really fishy. So I ordered the chili, nice save. This place would be fine for some drinks and dinner/lunch in a pinch, but I wouldn’t not pack a meal for camping just so I could eat here.

I’m a local to this area and recently just tried this place again after a first bad breakfast 3 years ago. The service was slow but friendly. We went on Taco Tuesday which is a good deal. The tacos were not so bueno however. Chile Verde or Tilapia were the choices and neither were great. Dry pork with no «verde» whatsoever, more like carnitas that had been under a heat lamp. I don’t eat Tilapia but my dining companions told me it wasn’t great either. The chips were homemade and the salsa was decent, but they charge you for it and for every re-fill of your chips and salsa too which I thought was poor. The only beer for $ 2.50 was Sol, which was good and delivered with a lime. The view is always beautiful, eating outside is great here. I wouldn’t be back though, unless it was just for drinks.

Not the best I have had when others ran the Dragon Lake Grill. The hamburgers were good. The rest of the group did not have that great of food. If you go, stick with the burgers. The service was good and that is why there is 2 stars in stead of 1. Way too expensive for the food.

Right on the shores of Lake Naciemento~This little restaurant is missing the boat!(No pun intended) ;) The marketing done for this little place is not good! They need to advertise more and they would be much busier! The biggest hint I could give them is to send out coupons to the locals in a flyer that states when they are open! They are seasonal so it is always our guess when they open and close. They have had their share of staff come and go. Sometimes you hit it and it is right on… other times the service is out rageously slow. The one thing I can say is the food has always been excellent! I have never had a bad meal there! One morning a few years ago, we brought our friends from out of town there for breakfast and waited 40 minutes after we were seated for any kind of attention. The waitress kept avoiding eye contact with us~ it was CRAZY! Like a toddler who pulls their shirt over their head and thinks if they can’t see us~ we can’t see them! Later we found out that the cook didnt’ show up or someone important like that had quit… The thing is… as a past server I know how important communication with the customer is… If she had said… I am so sorry for the wait… can I get you some orange juice or coffee on the house? Rather than just totally avoiding us! That day it took 3 hours for breakfast and we knew that because you have to get your parking ticket validated! I did write the Management a letter on that one and offered to consult for free so that they would make it! Those servers just needed a little guidance. It was not rocket science and if we didn’t love that place they could have lost us for good! Never heard back… GREAT owner/management customer relations… Not to even respond? BADPR!!! Last summer it seemed as if someone new had taken over and the few times we went there this last season, had a great experience. They have a great little outdoor deck that you can dine on as you watch the sun set. Or an air conditioned little restaurant. We visited there with our whole family who came to visit during the last part of summer last year and everyone raved about it. Not one person was unhappy with their meal and we all pretty much chose different things. So if you live at the lake and want a good meal without driving all the way to town, or are visiting the lake or resort… it is worth a try!
