I have had Dr. Caton III since March and can not be more pleased, in spite of having post operative issues. I had a C5-C6 Fusion July 1st and have been pain free and had the use of my hands returned to me. There is a post op complication called foot drop, but instead of ducking the issue, he is going back in and releasing the nerves at L5 and S1. Talk about a gung-ho hero! And he is so calm and reassuring about the whole thing– another day at the office! I couldn’t be happier. No matter what, I feel safe and in good hands. Thank you Dr. Caton III and all his wonderful staff– from his P.A. Kylee to Tara his nurse and all the front office gals and guys that make that suite just perfect!

I felt the need to write this review after seeing Colin B.‘s comments. Dr. Caton operated on my low back in January of 2009. I felt immediate relief after surgery and have been healthy for 6 years. My mom was a very well know physical therapist(now retired) in Pasadena for over 35 years. She saw many patients from many back doctors, and she sent me to Dr. Caton because he’s the best. I don’t know what the circumstances were for Colin B., but Dr. Caton gave me my life back by fixing my back, and deserves nothing less than 5 stars.

After a seizure two years ago, I was diagnosed with a large brain tumor(Clear Cell Meningioma) and am so fortunate to have had Dr. Caton on call that day. I didn’t know it then, but found out later that he is one of the top brain surgeons in the nation. He removed half of the tumor and I was told that the rest of the tumor had too many veins and capillaries immersed in it and he didn’t want me to end up in a wheel chair or talking with a drool. Cyberknife radiation has been collapsing(very slowly) the rest of the tumor. Everyone’s condition is different, but I can tell you that I am 99.9 percent perfect. He is a patient, prudent and caring surgeon. I could not think of anyone better to handle a surgery!

I have never been more disappointed in a doctor before. Caton conducted a laminectomy, and a few months after the surgery my condition started to deteriorate to the point I could barely move. An MRI showed the yet another nerve impingement in the same area Caton operated. After the MRI I was told by Caton’s staff he would not see me for 2 ½ months, with no explanation. I inquired with other medical professionals as to why Caton refused to help me, and was told it was either because I am a worker’s comp patient and he wasn’t getting paid enough for my visits, or post MRI he saw he made a surgical mistake and was hoping time would fix it rather than having to admit it. Either way it is a travesty, DONOT use him as your surgeon if you value your health.

I was INCREDIBLY impressed with Dr. Caton’s professionalism and knowledge when I saw him for the first time today. I went to him for a second opinion after an orthopedist gave me a grim report on my spinal condition and recommended immediate surgery. Dr. Caton, a neurologist, explained that there was no rush to surgery needed, that the condition wasn’t nearly as bad as described, and that there was a therapeutic option(involving traction at home and wearing a collar when moving around) which resolved issues like mine 80% of the time. He’s also rated«top doc» by both patients AND other doctors, which says a lot about him.
