got lunch for $ 8 and food poising was free! Service was friendly, ambiance is like a night club that serves discount lunch. but seriously, several hours later I was a bathroom frequent-flyer.

Our server was sweet as can be and the atmosphere was cool, but we were REPEATEDLY served bad fish. Can’t believe it happened a second time after we sent back our first order! Almost everything we ordered had clearly turned; fishy smell or discoloration; it was obviously inedible. Unbelievable. Avoid.

Came here for lunch. At night supposedly they have a live band. At lunch the staff was extremely shorthanded for an empty restaurant. Service was bad and the food was only so-so.

Love this place for lunch! The 4pc sushi and Cali roll combo for $ 7.99 is sooo good! I love that they put cucumber slices in the water – so refreshing!

Walked in one day on labor day weekend at around 1:35pm, looked around the place to find a host. found one hiding in the kitchen and asked if they were open, to which we got 2 replies from 2 different people. One guy said yes and was ready to seat us and the other guy just said no we’re closed we are very busy. The damn place was empty. And they did not want to seat my group of 5 people. Probably because we weren’t the right color or class for them. Either way not happy as this was my only day in pasadena trying to find sushi within walking distance of my hotel. Thanks for nothing.

One of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in my life… My mistake… walking down Colorado with my Mom and Aunt… see a sign about lunch specials… ok how bad can it be? Oh FUCK, it is that bad… What a joke this place is… They came over and tryed to sell my Aunt Sushi that was on special, meaning discounted… My lettuce was wilted… like maybe atleast a week old… and then theres the bathroom… yuck yuck yuck… I could have gotten lots of peoples number for a good time off of the stall walls… but I was far more worried about getting germs from even being in the space… I would rather pee in a Porta Potty. What the Hell is this place? Nothing was edible or even cheap… after we left 80% of our food on the table and paid the bill… we walked across the street to Cold Stone so that we could get the shitty taste of this place out our mouths… Now everytime I drive by, I flip this spot off… Fucking Gross!!!(and thats the edited nice version of what I have to say)

I came in with my wife for during lunch time. The place was empty and didn’t smell very pleasant. It was dark and just felt that we were eating in an empty bar. We ordered a bento box with sashimi… Perhaps I shouldn’t complain because the low price, but the fish was hard and frozen. and the teriyaki chicken didn’t taste that good. It tasted like i t was old.

Came here to see a friend’s band, I guess he’s the one that should be writing the review but as a patron… it’s a tiny place, you can tell it’s a sushi, with a bar, and a awkward little stage at the back. Tiny. But perfect for a starting out college-band. $ 7 at the door, X’s on your hands if you’re under 21 and wristbands if you are. I think the restaurant part shuts down around 9 or 10. The sound wasn’t the best, and you could blame the weird shape of the place for some acoustics. A cute little place to throw a small party, but I wouldn’t call it a major live music venue.

I really have no complaints here. I’ve never been in this place to dine but have ordered delivery twice now with no problems. The person on the phone taking delivery and to go orders communicates clearly even through their very thick accent. They have never messed up an order yet and I always receive everything I ordered. I usually get the bento box combo with mobile soba and two sides. Those sides being tempura shrimp/veggie and a green salad. The soba noodles are kinda chewy by the time it gets to my house but the sauce is tasty and they give you chopped green onions, white radish and wasabi to go with. The portions are pretty big, I can’t ever finish my meal. I like the green salad, it’s a mixed green lettuce and comes cold with a nice sesame dressing. I detest a salad that is warm. Yuck. The tempura shrimp is just normal, tempura shrimp. It’s not too oily and not the most spectacular thing either. It’s decent for the price. I think t’s like 10 bucks for all of that food. The sides are«sides» but they are really big sides. You get a lot of bang for your buck. I’ve ordered a spider roll here and I didn’t like the bright orange fish eggs they use, it was almost too much and didn’t seem that fresh. Next time will order a spider roll without the eggs. The california roll is simple and tasty but I might stay away from the real fishy and raw stuff. By the other reviews I don’t know if I want to try a spicy tuna from this place.

They changed their menu and totally reduced their staff… When we came in today, there was no one greeting us, no one there to even seat us. I had to walk to the back to get someone just so we could sit down. We sat down and got the new menus and they are suppose to be better deals. Free drink and miso soup with lunch meal… So I got a Bento Box, but I don’t eat rice, so I asked her if I could have something to replace it. No. So if I wanted soba instead, can I have it? No salad then. Okay, can I get one soba instead of the rice? No. Ultimately… no replacements or any changes. Really? I remember when I used to eat here, how nice they were. They were a good deal. So I got Pork Katsu and Shrimp Tempura with salad and rice BENTOBOX. Pork was overfried. Shrimp didn’t come with tempura sauce(until I complained they brought it). My friend got the BENTOBOX with chicken and sashimi and her sashimi was not good. I’m extremely shocked at the change of this place. I probably won’t come back to this place again :/ So sad. it used to be good.

so, this is what happens when the wife«picks a new place.» at first we thought it was abandoned. i walked in, knowing i would visit here, and« Unilocaled» with no response. walked back out, saw the lit OPEN sign and walked around the corner to see if i was missing something. finally found a guy who said«we really are a lunch business, we just have what’s left over.» way to sell that uncooked fish, buddy! The bathroom smelled like that’s where they keep the unsold fish. I got veggie tempura– seemed safe. My wife got some tuna roll — «no more spicy tuna, all sold at lunch!» I’ll have to go back at noon some day.

Came to watch a show. A friend of my was playing with his band so we went around 10pm. The place holds a decently large crowd. The bar was fully stocked and drinks were decently priced. I didn’t partake in the food but my friends who ordered didn’t seem to hate what they ate. In fact the pretty much cleaned their plates. I think this place suffers a bit from poor location since most of it’s targeted crowd is hanging out just a few blocks down the road in Old Town. Like it would be quiet a walk up the street if you were bar hopping. But all in all I had a good time hanging out. Would go again to check it out during the day.

I really don’t understand why so many people give this place such a bad wrap! My brandonsaur and I come here to eat whenever we’re in p-town and we always leave satisfied. Today we ordered california rolls, beef bowl and chicken bowl, with 2 cokes and the bill only came out to $ 21 +tax&tip. Pretty good for a sit down place if you ask me. It came on a plate instead of a bowl which left me a little perplexed, but I was super hungry so I didn’t care if it came out a litte extra. The chicken breast was not to thick or thin, but perfect, juicy as hell, and tasty too. Drizzled with just enough teriyaki sauce but not too much. I of course drizzled the spicy orange colored sauce all over my plate and it was absolutely yummy. I felt like a stuffed pig after. Its quiet, roomy, not busy, and ill keep coming back with my hunny as long as their food quality stays good :]

Today I received an email from Terrace Sushi asking me to remove my «negative» review. Apparently, TS is under new ownership and claims new and improved food. So I feel obliged to state that my review was for the PREVIOUS owners, not the current one. However, I don’t feel obligated to remove my review altogether because that’s censorship, and I believe in freedom of speech. And I don’t feel comfortable changing my review until I’ve had a chance to try the new place out. The email was a little offensive, and I felt that they should’ve at least offered a coupon or discount to come back and check the place out under the new management, rather than just asking me to remove my review. How do I really know for sure that it’s new and improved? New owners, I respectfully suggest that you offer us an incentive for removing our«negative» reviews, though I honestly didn’t think my review was that negative to begin with.

I got a menu shoved in my mail box the other day, so I decided to order some sushi and udon to satisfy my appetite. The guy on the phone took my order, informed me what they were out of, and explained things I had questions about. I ordered the yaki udon and a Hawaiian roll. When the food arrived soon thereafter, they came in styrofoam containers. The udon I was a fan of. The sushi smelled fishy, looked discolored, and was a little suspect. I just left that alone altogether and filled up on the yaki udon. Overall, the sushi is obviously not fresh and not prepared well. Idk much about udon, but I liked the flavor of the noodles. The chicken with it was a little bland, though. Clearly it wasn’t stir fried together with the other noodles.(I ordered the udon that they described as stir fry style, not the soup style.) Overall, I wouldn’t order from them again unless I was desperate for food. Too bad. I love it when places have pictures on their menus and this one looked promising. It just didn’t live up to what I expected.

I always pass by this spot — and usually know it for it’s Bar/Nightclub alterego. But I went in for lunch on Friday and found it to be a GREAT spot for lunch. The wait staff was attentive and seemed to multiply at times. I ordered the tempura udon with spicy tuna roll. Plus a coke and only paid $ 8.49. Plus it came with miso soup(soup and soup. but yummy) and some sweet potato noodle salad. It was good. The portions were nice and the price was great. Definitely going to go back and try more on their extensive lunch menu. Bonus — if you work in the area– they deliver! yay!

A sad, sorry excuse for a restaurant. Terrace is an insult to all Japanese chefs. Food: When I opened my takeout box the first thing that raced through my mind was ‘I paid $ 15 for THIS!!!’ I really wanted sushi and was too lazy to get my ass over to a restaurant so I ordered an albacore roll( ), some tempura veggies( ), and veggie udon( ). The albacore had tons of red stringy things in it, so much that I had to throw some pieces away. The pieces were cut irregularly and smelled fishy. The tempura was overly greasy and the udon was almost completely tasteless. Atmosphere: Dunno, I got takeout. Service: The delivery was pretty slow, but not unreasonable. Synopsis: Gross. Just plain gross. I do like that they do takeout, though.

This place totally looks like it suffers from an identity crisis. It’s a sushi restaurant by early evening and I believe it’s a bar/club/lounge later in the night. The lighting is a bit disturbing. It’s not dim enough but it’s also not bright enough. Kinda annoying actually. After looking through their sushi menu, I wanted to get up and leave because the selection was extremely basic. But the waiter brought us tea and somehow, we felt obligated to stay. So we unenthusiastically ordered some rolls, a few pieces of sushi, and a chirashi. The rolls were edible… probably because they were drenched in mayo. But the sushi was really nasty and not fresh. The fish was way too cold… like they’ve just been defrosted! YUCKERS! And, the chirashi contained pieces of sashimi wrapped in the shape of flowers. But boy, when I unwrapped those cute little sashimi flowers, it emitted more stank! Never ever again!
