Sorry to say this Ross lacks the helpful customer service that the other Ross’s stores in this area seem to embrace. Other Ross’s with good customer service people answering the phone; Baybrook Mall, 45 and 646 Ross, GulfGate and Almeda Genoa are excellent with wanting to help a customer find an item) Unfortunately after talking to the sales clerk maybe the manager of this Ross on E Southmore in Pasadena, I was left with the question? Why is this woman even working if she didn’t have the energy or desire of her own(even if they were busy at that moment) to take my name and call me back when business slowed down? She told me with out checking that I could drive the 40 miles to come check rather than she take it upon herself(maybe she couldn’t leave her post?) To check or ask one of the salesclerks ringing to look to their right at the front of the store and see if there was a 3FOOT orange or purple Witches hat in the 2 rounders of Halloween decorations… they couldn’t be missed they are tall! But no, even though I told her all the other Ross’s I called were happy to look, she would not, and didn’t care. I work retail and many times I take someones name and Call them back, it’s no problems because it’s my job. I did Call corporate and they backed her up saying they don’t have to do that for a customer… but let me tell you… they do it anyway and I thank them for helping me… but not this store, a little common curtesy would have been apprectated… I’m guessing the girl who answered the phone read the Ross Rules and is following them by the T… I wouldn’t hire her or keep on on my payroll for such an additude… or laziness.

I love Ross, always have. They’re cheap, have great selection and generally very friendly customer service reps. The woman at the dressing room was sweet and congenial, if a little soft-spoken. I had a really good experience, finding everything I needed in 10 minutes. When I got to the line to check out, however, the vibe went from friendly customer service to cold and awkward. The woman who checked me out, Denise(it was spelled differently, but I can’t remember the spelling) was not rude, just apathetic. She obviously didn’t give a crap about me or any of the other customers in the store. I asked how her day was going, it’s the south, we do that. She replied with a LOOK(you know what I mean) and asked if I’d found everything alright. I said yes, she smiled snarkily, and checked me out without another word. She didn’t wish me a nice day or even say thank you. Maybe my small town mentality is in overdrive right now, but every place I’ve ever worked, whether I was having a bad day or dealing with a particularly nasty customer, I always had a smile on my face. A friendly customer is a refresher, not a burden. You shouldn’t treat them as such. She is the only reason I encountered that kept this Ross from having 5 stars.
