Fantastic Shakes! My wife had had a craving for a coffee shake, so I was«on a mission». Well, I found her the«Nirvana» of shakes for her, a Mocha Fudge Shake. It rocked — chalk up one happy wife! :) Just like the photos, Perry“s Joint has a pleasant«laid back» ambiance, and an inviting Jazz theme, tastefully done. Interestingly the man behind the counter was Perry himself. Very personable and friendly, and takes care to deliver a quality experience. Highly Recommended.

Outstanding ! Perry himself is behind the counter, his wife also works there. We’ve been going since mid 2015, Perry recognizes us when we walk in, always greats us like we’re old friends. His wife is so nice, such a soft spoken gal. Perry’s Joint !

Happened to be in Pasadena today and needed to find a nice lunch spot for some friends. I’m on a special diet and needed to modify the menu a bit and the restaurant had no problem with that. I got the Tuna sandwhich with lettuce wrap, and mustard instead of mayo. It was delicious! The ambience is great. Jazz playing in the background and friendly service. Will definitely be returning again.

This place is great. I live a block away and has been my go to, since I’ve lived here. I’ve tried a number of sandwiches and all have been terrific but nothing really compares to the chicken salad. It’s the best chicken salad sandwich I’ve ever had. Every morning they make the chicken from scratch(I asked) and you can tell. Also they put the chicken salad on both sides of the bread. I’ve never seen that before and I don’t know why, it’s brilliant. You get chicken salad on both sides of your mouth. The vibe of the place is awesome, super cozy and a welcoming atmosphere. They also have a live jazz band on Thursdays at 6pm. I could go on and on about the place. I am moving at the end of this month and I have to say I’m pretty bummed about it. Perry is a really cool dude and I’ll miss him and his wonderful sandwiches

Oh. My. God. This place= heaven. The only thing I’ve ever tried here is the pastrami sandwich. I now believe in God. Huge, juicy meat overflows and spills out of the sandwich bread. Cooked to perfection, and the pickles and mustard just add to the splendor. I crave this sandwich in my sleep. If anyone ever saw the way I eat this sandwich, I’d almost be ashamed– except that it’s so dang delicious, I’m ok with being judged. Everyone raves about Lincoln across the street. But Perry’s is so much better than Lincoln, it’s not even funny. This place is like the best kept secret in Altadena. Why everyone likes Lincoln, I will never know. Also, Perry’s feels like a mom and pop shop where the owner actually makes the food and loves the community he serves. Fave restaurant in Altadena, hands down. Perry, don’t ever leave!!!

My friend took me here for the first time… knowing me… I was very cautious with where I go to eat. So I came in and there’s this jazz music playing in the background… that’s one point. There was this fresh menu and friendly people(owners) then there’s this wall of art and albums of different jazz icon… Loved it!!! Food was amazing! Very fresh and healthy! Try the squaw bread(tastes like dark molasses… heavenly!!) don’t forget to try their iced tea and baked goods! Love this place!!!

I stumbled on this place and I must say This was the best sandwich I’ve ever had! The sandwich was put together nicely and nothing fell out of it. This is going to be my new place! Parking is kinda hard but it is definitely worth a drive around the block to find a good spot.

Great little place located right by the Rose Bowl. Perfect place to get a meal either before or after, based off what time the game is. Be noted– closes at around 5 so plan ahead if it’s a night game. There is street parking everywhere– metered and not metered. Ambiance is really homey. Coffee shop vibe without the pretentious people. Lots of fun decorations and a cool mural on the wall. Comfy couches and some outdoor seating available. Owner of the café is really charming and a great guy. Super friendly and greets all customers– whether they are new or old. Guess that tells you service is great. You watch as the sandwich is being made before you, with last minute additions or removals accommodated without hesitation. Ordered the hip bird. Sandwich is huge, filling, and delicious. Your typical deli sandwich without any skimping out on the ingredients. More than one slice of turkey, folks. Faith restored. I was more than full eating my sandwich and struggled to finish it. In addition, my friend ordered a milkshake. They make milkshakes out of any of their ice cream flavors that they have available. Milkshake is refreshing and has the added bonus of not pigeonholing you into the typical vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry. My friend decided that this is his new favorite place to get sandwiches in Pasadena, especially because he was full after his sandwich. As a six foot tall, however many pound guy, if he was satisfied, you will be too.

I’m here at 10:08 on Saturday 10÷10÷15. Unilocal says they are open, but they are not. Looks like I’m going to try jims down the street.

Love this place! Great atmosphere, super chill spot no rush, enjoy yourself. Staff is friendly and helpful. The Sandwiches are amazing, sweet potato pie is so good you might have to slap somebody. When I’m in Alta or Pasadena I have to stop by. Just can’t find a better sandwich, but that pie though!

Inside an unassuming and ugly stucco box dwells the best value in Pasadena. Any place where the owner is behind the counter taking your order is going to usually be better than the more typical alternative. Such care is taken in each sandwich. Their pastrami is served a little scorched around the edges which imparts a bacon flavor which smoothly transitions into the familiar pastrami taste. Their bread is perfect. The sandwich is of ideal proportions when it comes to the ratio of bread, meat and vegetable content. Even their tomatoes are a cut above the usual flavorless excuses for tomato that you find on most sandwiches in this price range. Just to give you and idea of the«vibe», you wont find a stupid fountain drink stand here, or your typical piped in Muzak. They play jazz. I’m not a jazz man, but I love that they play it here as much as I like the framed jazz albums decorating the walls. It was a nice change from the usual choice between depressing corporate eateries and overpriced, Über hip places we see proliferating everywhere. Let Perry make you sandwich. Support a local business and enjoy your lunch for once.

I am so glad that I work right across the street from Perry’s Joint. Everything that I’ve gotten from there has been delicious but some of my favorites are: 1) Chicken salad sandwich. I always get it on squaw bread but honestly I think it would be great on any bread. He always puts a slice of apple in there which gives it a nice refreshing crisp. 2) Pastrami sandwich. I’ve never had Langer’s but Perry’s pastrami is pretty darn good. 3) Nachos and hotdogs. They’re all good :) 4) Peach Ice Tea — so good on a hot summer day. They give you free refill too :) They owners are always friendly and greet me with a warm smile. They also have ice cream and milk shakes too… which I’ve got to try soon

I’ve been here a couple of times now and it has been great both times. The service and ambiance are both very nice. The squaw bread is the best with whatever sandwich you get. Will definitely keep coming back!

Nice little family owned place to come to, especially after a good workout(24 hr fitness across the street). Parking is a little tricky, and service can be a little slow at times since there are usually two people behind the counter. I usually get the pastrami or egg sandwich. Great flavor but can get messy. Promising portion for the price. Haven’t tried the ice cream or coffee, there’s no espresso machine as far as I know so I’m not sure how they make their drinks. Also they close a little too early. Jazz themed artwork, colorful bright walls. Cozy little place to come have a good bite. Support your local Altadena business!

Artsy hippy sandwich joint in Northern Pasadena. Jazz music, spacious interior, additional court yard seating area, deli counter, local young hipster and student crowd. This is pleasantly refreshing, with a touch of old Pasadena cultural ambiance. The big band sandwich(see pic) was a handful. A 5-inch-stack of ham, pastrami, turkey, tomato, bacon, lettuce, red onion, and your choice of bread, made in five minutes of ordering. Service lady and gentleman were both attention-to-detail, and friendly. I can see why the business won’t stop. I’d be back for more.

My new FAVORITE sandwich shop! I work up the street from Perry’s and never really noticed it, even though I drive by it every day. My friend who works with me brought me back a sandwich(the hip bird: turkey, Swiss cheese, avocado, tomatoes, lettuce, mayo, & mustard on fresh/soft sourdough bread) and O-M-G! Their sandwiches are amazing! Everything is so FRESH! Lettuce was crisp and the sour dough bread was nice and soft(super fresh)! My friend got me hooked! They have parking in the back(this place is in a medical plaza) and once you step in, the owners greet you! They make you feel so welcomed! Wonderful and really nice people. His wife hand picks and shops for the meat/produce herself. When I went in for myself, I ordered the pastrami sandwich(7.45 for a full sandwich/4.25 for a half) on croissant(50 cents extra for croissant). The croissant was delicious and he really packs in the pastrami! Better than The Hat! Huge portions/fresh bread and produce/friendly service/free and easy parking/good price! You really can’t go wrong with any of their sandwiches. If you’re in the Altadena or Pasadena area, you must try it!
