If u want a library to study… do not go here. Another Unilocaler has mentioned this already. If u need a place to cool down from the heat and read magazines like I did today… then stop by here like I did to kill sometime before my appointment with someone out here in this neck of the woods. Read an article on how to get your vehicle to 200,000 miles and it basically is confirming what I know already… change your oil in your vehicle EVERY3,000 miles if you want it to last longer. It’s not rocket science. Even one missed oil change can do slow damage to the engine. The article mentions even though car companies say 5,000 to 10,000 miles intervals for oil changes is what is being recommended in the car manuals… that’s unrealistic. Change it every 3,000 miles. Don’t believe otherwise. Be prepared for numerous children here who are what they are… noisy and farting… not kidding.

I like this library. It’s the closest one to me so I go here every few weeks. With the Pasadena Public library system you can request books online and have them delivered to the library of your choice. I will send them here or the main branch. This location is small otherwise. A plus is that you can check out the magazines. You can’t do that at the main branch.

Children are the most important users a library has, but for those of us looking for a place to read or study, this library is not a good place to be. This whole library consists of one big open room, with no way to get away from the good and natural — but reader-unfriendly — noise that children make, even when they are being respectful. This library desperately needs a dividing wall that would create a quiet space, even a small one, where you can read in protected silence. The building also needs more access to electricity so that outlets are available at all of the seating spaces. I saw an older gentleman crowded out of his table because the table next to him didn’t have power and the person there clearly had a battery that was running low and had to move to a shared table to find power. They should have both had free space. Currently I am sitting in one of the only padded chairs in the library, by a nice big bay window, but there is no power access within reach in this area and my battery is at 38%. I cannot stay here much longer. To summarize — the space looks attractive enough but is not functional in two critical areas. I do like the chess board they have set out with oversized chess pieces on it. It looks inviting.
