I work in the area and have been SO burned out with all of my usual stops. I’ve walked by this on multiple occasions but never ventured in because my love of meat was turned off by the idea of Vegetarian Cuisine. On Tuesday I sucked it up and went in. I ordered the Portabella Burger with a side salad. LOVEDIT! The next day I got their lunch special and brought a co-worker with me. We both LOVEDIT! Today everyone in the office wanted this place. Two co-workers split the Quinoa Salad, one ordered the portabella burger with a side salad and I did the lunch special again(because it’s something new everyday.) We all agree this is our new favorite place! SO good! So happy! LOVEIT!

As a person with a refined palate who can taste whats good and what is not, I tried this restaurant out recently and was disappointed. I did notice some«cool» hipster young types walking in as I left. Im not sure what they’re eating. The menu is very sparse. They have a lunch special of all you can eat every day. I tried the beef and broccoli and it wasnt that good. The restaurant called«The green earth» does a much better version of this dish. Here is was very hot, my mouth was burning with the heat. Im not sure what kind of heat they are using for this effect. I asked the waitress, even she didnt know!!! The broccoli heads were VERYSMALL, and tough. I was very suprised that the vegetables were nothing to write home about. The carrots looked like the pre-cut kinds that you find in frozen bags at the store!!! I wrinkled my nose and sighed, realized this was definitely sub-par. If they intend to compete with the other 5 vegan restaurants in Pasadena, CA, they better go for broke, make sure the dinners are MADETOORDER(famous last words) and ALL the vegetables are HOMEMADE. CUTTHERE. not gotten from other processed sources!!! This is essentially another asian restaurant that is offering vegan fare, so it would be similar to The green Earth or My vegan, only not as good. THEWORSTPART about this dish, is the vegan beef. Its pretty flavorless, and I worry people who come here for health reasons will think this is typical of vegan meat fare. Its not!!! This didn’t taste like anything Ive ever had before. In fact, what exactly was it imitating? It seemed like it was more VEGANLABIA than anything else. Seriously, I felt I may have been eating vegan imitation genitalia. and I am not a cannibal, nor do I know any. Since I was so hungry, I ate everything, paid my typically standard TENDOLLARS for this dish… cha chinged everywhere I go at 10. a pop! ugh. I am very lax to go back and try anything else, because the vegan beef N broccoli should be their greatest dish, and an example of what other dishes would be like. If that is not their crowning glory, I doubt anything else will be much better. I dont want to disparage vegan food, as we need it so badly in this world, but you also have to TRY to be better than your competition. Opening a restaurant isn’t enough, you have to care about the QUALITY of the food. This was definitely a sub-par dish!!! I had a feeling this was going to be how it was before I sat down, but I went ahead anyway and wasted some more money. The one good thing I have to say was that the lady who works there named Victoria was very kind.

Who knew jackfruit could be so amazing? I must admit as a former carnivore I do miss certain things, like pork, and beef. But thankfully I don’t have to anymore! Their brussel sprouts were also a delight. The service was great and I am shocked they don’t have a line out the door, but what can you do? It is quite casual and affordable, so if you want an unassuming and delicious vegan meal — I recommend it.

$ 2 for parking in the lot. The first time I visited it was free. I think after a certain time they don’t charge despite what the signs may say. This visit I tried the buffalo ranch fries and buffalo wings. Both were delicious but a little too much sauce on the fries. I don’t like fries when they’re too soggy. Next time I’d ask for light sauce or sauce on the side. I also tried the Philly Dream and had a bite of my friend’s Portobello burger. I’m not a big mushroom fan, so I didn’t care for the burger but my friend loved it. The Philly Dream was good but nothing amazing. The bread can really make or break a sandwich and I think it could’ve used a nice toasting. I made the mistake of not adding cheeze but the vegan steak and veggies were yummy.

Solid quick and casual vegan lunch spot. A little confused by the way it works here. We were seated at a table but then once we decided what to order, had to go up to the counter to pay — so it’s sort of counter service, sort of table service. My husband and I had the lunch buffet, about $ 7 and you fill a rectangular serving bowl once, no re-fills. Because of no re-fills, there’s a little learning curve where you have to eat here once to figure out what you like. I banked too much on the bok choy which ended up being really overcooked, and I wish I took more of the paprika potatoes which were delicious. The veggie dumplings were good, so was the tofu scramble and salad. I was pleased to not find any dreaded Cumin in the dishes! We each had a vita-coco drink with our meal and it somehow came to over $ 20, so maybe next time I won’t get a drink, at least not without asking the price first. The service was nice. One server offered to bring us glasses of ice water and a straw for our drinks. They also carry a selection of vegan cookies and chocolate bars and marshmallows.

So yummy! Everyone, the manager and my server were super nice and I ate the Korean bbq tacos and the mushroom burger and they were both so yummy! My friend and I both loved the fries. It’s a solid alternative and you couldn’t tell that it wasn’t meat. Can’t wait to go back.

I got the jackfruit BBQ sandwich with skinny fried. Delish! I also got a Thai iced tea with soy milk which was creamy and tasty. Service was fast and the portions are great.

Delicious! Their supreme pizza and hot wings hit the spot so perfectly! I never thought I’d order anything involving cauliflower when getting takeout, but I liked these hot«wings» better than the questionable chicken ones! So glad this place is in my neighborhood!

Good if you’re vegan, bad if you’re hungry. This was $ 10 including tips and i was still hungry after I finished. Proportions are WAYTOOSMALL for the price. Eating vegan should not mean eating less!

So I was meeting a friend for dinner, and thought that I had sent us to the vegetarian/vegan place on Colorado in old town. When I looked at my calendar I saw it was actually a new restaurant. Well, the good news is it’s super delicious and not very pricey. I had the tacos and a salad. It was very confusing to my poor taste buds, because it tasted exactly like real meat… but it wasn’t… Anyway, a super good restaurant with friendly service and quick turnaround time. Highly recommend.

Another Supreme Master-associated joint, although I like it better than Loving Hut. First of all: one wall is covered with paintings of 6′ high PARROTS. This in itself is an Amy K. magnet, but I wouldn’t give four stars if the food wasn’t also good. Not a huge menu, but plenty of variety at very reasonable prices, and they have a Taco Tuesday deal: two tacos for $ 5. I just took advantage of that the other day and downed the Korean tacos; I thought they were light on the meat, but the meat itself had great texture and flavor, and the tacos were tasty. I dropped in to get the One Veg World burger to go on a day I hadn’t packed lunch for work, and found that I’d made a great choice; the burger was big and delicious, and the shoestring fries were perfectly crispy and came in a generous helping. I liked the golden crispy rolls, which came with a dipping sauce and arrived so hot we had to wait a few minutes to eat ‘em. The chocolate peanut butter pie is startlingly good and you can’t taste the raisins in the crust, if you were wondering. The only thing I’ve had so far that was disappointing was the Thai chickun salad, mostly because the peanut dressing was way too watered down and didn’t taste like much. Staff has always been attentive and friendly, food has come out swiftly, and I was offered water when I waited for my to-go order. Street parking can be a pain, but it depends on the time of day. I’ll be back for sure.

When I first walked into One Veg World at 6pm on a Thursday, the dining area was completely empty with the exception of one other customer. That’s usually not a good sign. Another thing that caught my attention was a sign that said«no restrooms for customers, sorry!» I was getting a bit worried about this place. Yet I was drawn in by the friendliness of the staff. After I ordered, I was surprised by how quickly my food came out. It felt like slightly more than 5 minutes but definitely less than 10. The Jackfruit Carnitas Tacos was SOYUMMY! It had this sriracha mayo on top while not necessarily spicy, added a yummy flavor. The serving size of the tacos were the perfect size although the ratio of ingredients felt more like shredded cabbage over the jackfruit. I really love my jackfruit so I will always think I didn’t have enough. For two filling tacos and a side salad, it’s a pretty legit meal for $ 7! To top off the meal, I treated myself to a Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie which is the best thing in the world ever! Love the flavors and it’s extremely rich with flavor. Because it’s so dense and filling with yumminess, it took me three days to finish it. Lastly, they sell a good amount of vegan snacks such as vegan jerky, earth balance popcorn and crackers, vegan marshmallows amongst many other things. I ended up buying a vegan chocolate caramel bar for office chocolate cravings. There is free parking on the street but I also noticed an adjacent garage. You can enter through mentor street but I could not tell you what the payment sitch is like. I really enjoyed this place! Looks like I’ll be taking many drives out to Pasadena so I can eat my way through their menu :)

Super casual place, nothing fancy but it’s clean but this is clearly just another vegan joint made by meat eaters. Their attempt at replacing animal protein w plant based processed foods is as equally pathetic as green earth over on fair oaks. I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if they were owned by the same people. One of their more popular items, the zesty serendipity, their equivalent of orange chicken, seemed like they shared recipes w Green Earth, just like donut holes drenched in sauce. We also tried the«dumplings» and unfortunately didn’t read the description thoroughly cause their idea of dumplings are essentially fried won tons. Everything else was mediocre to disappointing and service was confusing cause you walk in and they seat you, despite it being empty, and then they don’t really look at you and stand by the register for a long time(even when you’re trying to get their attention!) so we thought we should go up and order. To top it off, there’s a shelf of books on the side? Restaurant/library??? I dunno but didn’t really like the experience here. Another failed attempt at making unhealthy eaters feel healthy. Ickk. If you do end up here, try ordering something that doesn’t have brown rice as a side cause it was overcooked n dry. They don’t accept Amex so bring a diff card or cash. Street parking is easy after hours but can get pretty intense during lunch, esp cause it’s all one way streets of you miss it :/

I really wanted to like this business and I do. I admit, my expectations were low and they were greatly exceeded. Quick run through … the first strange thing you notice is that the restaurant is associated with some Eastern-type spiritual movement. Not sure what it is about. Some Eastern Guru … the same people behind the more-mediocre Loving Hut, according to articles online. They have books by this guru there for you to read about and, oddly, a television … tuned to the Eastern Guru channel. The food is pretty damn good. I had one of their veggie burgers, something I almost never order in restaurants. It was really good for the price. The fries were great. I ordered one of their personal pizzas … it was excellent. Really good. Just like I remember pizza tasting like. The cook in the kitchen was really conscientious this day. The ranch fries were pretty good, too. The staff was friendly and attentive. The prices were more than fair. There is parking in the back. This is not necessarily high quality food like Real Food Daily or even Veggie Grill. It’s more really tasty vegan junk food, which is fun. I’ll be back.

Acceptable service here, but I probably won’t be back for a while. Pros: + Consistently good service. Drinks were refilled promptly, and the white peach tea is very good. + Prices were fair. A sandwich with fries was around $ 9. Dinner for two came out to around $ 31 with tip. + A good variety of food styles, from Mexican, to cheesesteaks, to curry, so you’ll probably find something you like. Cons: — The portion sizes are pretty small. — The menu’s a little disjointed, but I suppose that’s to be expected at a vegan place where some of the appeal is to replicate«meat» dishes in a vegan way. — Some attention to detail was lacking on the jackfruit tacos — the«meat» filling was not hot, and the tortilla was cold and not grilled, as if it had just been pulled out of the fridge. This was the low point of the meal. Neutral: — They gave out«free dessert with $ 15 purchase» cards at a recent street fair. The card shows an array of all their desserts in photos. When we went to use the card, the server said that was only redeemable for chocolate walnut cookies or a strawberry cupcake, not the desserts pictured on the card. I felt that was something of a bait and switch, but it was free so I can’t complain too much.

I am so excited that One Veg World has opened a second location in Pasadena! I regularly make the trip to West Covina despite being so far. Today is their official grand opening and I’ve noticed a few differences from their Original location: –parking: 2 $ with validation behind the business fronts, or street parking if you can find it. It may be a little tough to find parking since it’s on a busy street. –menu: slightly smaller array of options compared to the West Co location, but I noticed a few new items– pizzas, chickpea sandwich, and a portobello burger. However, they still offer all of my favorites here: zesty serendipity(Orange chicken-like entrée), Philly Dream(vegan, slightly healthier version of a philly cheese), and of course all of their cakes. –interior: cozier, seating for 22 inside and a few sidewalk tables that accommodate about 12 guests. It may be a better idea to call ahead of arriving with a large group. Service: friendly and attentive, welcoming and just as positive an experience as their other location! Overall, great first meal at One Veg in Pasadena! Can’t wait to spread the word and bring my friends!
