Spot of tea? Why sure! Moulin De Paris is a wonderful hidden gem in a small Pasadena shopping center. To find this location you’ll have to travel down 100 to Magothy Beach road and the shopping center is on the first right once you turn onto Magothy Beach. Seating generally requires a reservation, and I recommend making tea time on a weekday as weekends are nearly impossible. Inside is a mix between a P.F. Chang’s, a tea house, and a evening restaurant tied into one — which is somewhat confusing upon entry, assuming I was going to a teahouse and not to the sushi joint at the other end of the shopping center. You’re presented with a list of teas ranging from white’s to spicy apple chais(my favorite) and receive unlimited refills throughout your stay. We choose to do the more expensive spread which includes a side cup of soup and a fresh mango salad. The soup was very good and was probably one of the best phở’s i’ve had at a fusion tea house. The mango salad was fair, I didn’t hear too much about it from our table. The finger sandwiches were mildly filling and offered a selection between grilled cheese, a turkey and gruyère cheese, and tuna salad — much to my surprise they weren’t bad. The next teir of food are fresh scones with a buttermilk crème spread, assorted tarts, and eclairs. For the $ 25 per-person experience I would say its worth its value, and even better if you have on of their frequently offered groupons. Looking for something other than tea? Well, you are in luck as they offer a full dinner menu and a complete wine and spirit selection to complement your meal. 4 stars!

Received a call today from the restaurant canceling my tea reservations for Monday. They advised they were suddenly and unexpectedly closing the restaurant permanently.

I take my daughter here quite often for Afternoon Tea. We both enjoy it very much, the food is great and they are flexible with substitutions. It can be difficult to get a Saturday afternoon reservation so call well in advance.

Loved finding this little gem for Afternoon Tea delight! Took my grand-nieces for a tea party. What a jewel this place was. The food was delicious and the choice of teas astounding. The wait staff was friendly, yet professional. Loved that they accommodated my strawberry allergy. We had a yummy and wonderful visit.

Good place for afternoon tea with a Groupon. I am not sure if I would have paid full price. We went for an early evening due to scheduling, but I am sure it would be better at the standard 4 pm time. Service was attentive. I had the Berry Jublie which was great, I also heard good reviews about the Gunners.

I wish that I could rate the food separately from the service. I also wish I had a button that said« Unilocaler-don’t piss me off». So, I’ll rate the food first. We ordered the afternoon tea with champagne(Groupon voucher, which we’ll discuss later.) The food was very good. My mom and sister got tea and I got coffee. Lovely china. The sandwiches were yummy and I even tried the shrimp cocktail. You all know I’m not a seafood person. Also very good. The raspberry and chocolate scones with buttercream icing are to die for. I could eat my weight in those. Sweet fancy moses! The dessert plate was also good with the exception of the meringues which must have been made too far in advance and were sticky instead of light and crunchy. Service-our waitress was great. Top notch there. Brought us stuff promptly and otherwise stayed out of our way so we could chat. The problem came with the Groupon usage and the attitude of the manager/hostess person. So, you can only get Groupon for 2 people or 4 people. There were only 3 of us. So, I paid the price for the 4 people. This was just for afternoon tea not high tea. I called and asked that since I paid for 4 people but were only bringing 3 could I get champagne included for the same price. It’s entirely possible that I misunderstood but I would’ve sworn that the woman said that would be fine. I realize they loose money on this but $ 10 a glass for champagne, are you kidding me? It was good but not $ 10 good. And then to get snotty with me when I ask about our previous conversation? I would’ve been fine if after I said that it may have been a misunderstanding that she said«I’m sorry for the confusion» or something like that. What would’ve been better was taking some or all of the cost for the champagne off. But just walking away, not cool. I don’t know if I’ll go back. The tea was very nice, don’t get me wrong but that’s not the type of attitude that wins customers. Maybe you should’ve had more conditions or options for your groupon.

Yum! Lovely food and tea for a great price– we got the Groupon deal that made it just $ 28 for four people. We were pretty hungry, so we upgraded to «High Tea,» which was $ 5 more per person and came with soup and a mango salad. The french onion soup was small but delicious cheesy, and definitely not salty, as french onion soups too often are. It’s in kind of an unusual location in a strip mall, and the inside is more of a restaurant setting than a tea house type thing, but the food was better than the other tea place we tried earlier this year(Tea on the Tiber in Ellicott City, which had a cuter ambiance and ecor). The little sandwiches were great and fairly substantial– especially the chicken salad sandwich and the croissant with gruyère and turkey(still warm). The scones were also quite good, and the adorable little tarts and desserts were a great way to finish the meal. Service was a little bit slow, but it’s nice to be able to sit and chat for a while. I’d definitely recommend it, especially if there’s another deal.

I purchased the groupon to this establishment for Afternoon Tea. I have been to one other tea house before in my life and I did not really enjoy it. This was a great change compared to my previous experience. The china we used was absolutely gorgeous. I am not the smartest woman and brought my 2AND3 year old to dine with me. However, I was very proud that they didn’t break a single dish. I asked our waitress for the closest thing she had to lemon tea and they brought us a delicious blend(can’t remember the name). The tiered snacks were a delight! Chocolate covered strawberries, mini eclairs, scones with jam and crème, lemon tart, fruit tart. I was in heaven! They even had savory snacks: Shrimp cocktail, tuna salad, chicken salad. I was actually really really shocked at how much I enjoyed my tuna salad. Previous cocktail sandwiches I’ve had have been thin and just gross. This I would pay a reasonable amount of money for to enjoy again. The staff was far more than accommodating for the kids and myself. Everyone was so friendly and nice. If I ever need a girls day, this is where we would be headed. Two minor suggestions would be: 1. Sugar cubes were not offered or present. It felt cheap opening a sugar packet and sprinkling it in my tea… idk…just doesn’t seem right. 2. Something about the interior was off. Felt a little cold and unwelcoming. Once we sat down, everything was fine and cozied right up but when we first walked in the place seemed unfinished, for lack of a better word. Maybe table cloths would help?

Tea for two… the food was good and I loved the waitress, she was a character of sorts. Unfortunately, it took 30 minutes to get a cup of soup and another 20 to get a salad. Finally, an hour and fifteen minutes after getting there, I got my tea tower. There were 3 tables when I got there so business was not an excuse. A table that came 40 minutes after us, got their tea tower of treats before us… lost major points for that. The manager or owner woman was not terribly apologetic, she said tea takes time… that would have flown, if I did not watch people who came in long after me get all their goodies first. Long story short-good, but don’t go if you don’t have a couple hours to spend there. One last note-I asked about a vegetarian soup and the waiter suggested french onion, so I said, no french onion generally has a beef stock base. She went and asked the kitchen and she reported that it was vegetarian… I am not sure I believe them, but it was quite tasty.

I came here recently on a sunny Saturday afternoon, with my mother. As soon as we walked in, we were seated at a table.(although we did have a reservation. lol) The employees were very helpful. My waitress was nice, even though she didn’t come back to check on us often. My mother & I ordered high tea, which is afternoon tea + a soup of your choice & a salad. We both ordered french onion soup. The soup was very good and flavorful, and the cheese was stretchy, that’s always a good thing. The salad had mangoes on it, and it went excellent with their homemade vinegarette that is on the salad. I ordered tiger chai tea. It was spicy, which I like. When my mother got her pot of tea, her water was lukewarm. I mean, could we atleast get some hot water? When they brought out the platter of food, we started at the top. The top had shrimp cocktail, and tuna & chicken salad sandwiches. The middle had white chocolate raspberry scones with cream & jam, and the bottom had little tarts and custard desserts. It was a light meal, even though I still got full off of everything. It was delicious. But, if you’re thinking it’s a quiet tearoom, you’ve got it all wrong. It was loud. Being in a place where you’re drinking tea, and trying to relax, you wouldn’t want to be bothered by loud conversation & laughter of the neighboring table, would you? Other than that, I thought everything was great. When you get your tea, you should really let it sit in the water for a minute before you pour it into your cup, for it is a bit watery because it wasn’t steeped long enough before they bring it out to you. We will be returning in the near future.

So I got the Groupon for tea at this place, mostly because I am a fan of high tea. Sadly, after going there, I don’t think high tea is what this place thinks high tea is. Firstly, my sister and I had a hard time finding the place. It’s in a strip mall with no obvious signage at the street’s edge to say what all is in the mall, and the sign for the restaurant itself has an inconveniently placed tree in front of it. It’s right next to a jeweler somewhat behind the McDonald’s you’ll see if you follow GPS directions to its address. Second, though the teacups were lovely and came in a great variety, the image this place was trying to project was really distractingly garbled on most other fronts. It’s Asian Fusion, but has a French name referring to a windmill… er, and the famous windmill in Paris is the Moulin Rouge, which is, well, see the works of Toulouse-Lautrec, but not this place so much. There is no windmill in its logo or on its premises, but the Eiffel Tower is in the logo. It’s a little bewildering. As far as the menu goes, there’s a good tea selection, but these guys don’t really know how tea sandwiches work. They have tuna and chicken salad(cut in half, not quarters), shrimp cocktail, and croissants with turkey in them on the savory layer of the food – which would mean, among other things, that any vegetarian you had with you would be out of luck. Also, if you don’t like seafood… well, neither I nor my sister, who came with me, do, and because the chicken salad tasted rather off, we pretty much only could eat the croissants from this layer, and they were pretty mediocre. The scones were probably the best food feature, but they were kind of greasy for scones. The sweets on the bottom tier were really, really sugary – too sweet – which was unfortunate. They also have a weird option to differentiate afternoon tea from«high tea» on their menu, which is that with their so-called high tea, you get soup and salad. This is, as far as I know, an anomaly unique to this restaurant. The service was pretty middling. They weren’t terrible but tea is supposed to be a luxury, and given that this place is charging luxury rates, I expected more attentive service. We were pretty much asking for the check before they asked if we’d like more hot water. I guess it’s possible that someone who did not like traditional high tea might prefer this because of its strange menu and options for different and more food than is typical, but if you’re just looking for a good place to have high tea, I recommend going elsewhere.

So my bestie Danyelle purchased a groupon for this place and decided to invite me and Ty Carr for tea. The groupon was for 4 so upon arriving we requested that the set remain as such even though there were 3 of us. This was most definitely the more classiest birthday celebrations I’ve had. I took photos of the settings, which were neat and lovely, and the food tray which also presented elegantly. This Euro-Asian fusion spot was serene and classy. There is an overwhelming variety of tea blends to choose from and the server we had was enthusiastic and could offer a number of selections based on the taste preferences we mentioned to her. Danyelle, Tyre and I enjoyed this place from front to back and loved our tier of food from the plated finger sandwiches on top to the decadent deserts on the bottom minus the pink puff wafer thingy. Not cost friendly here but lets face it the places that are will have you fat and gassy within minutes. The groupon factor was definitely appreciated and for that i must thank Danyelle for spotting the opportunity and be willing to try them out and of course thank the vendors marketing people for coming up with such a cool promo. I’ll be back with another groupon in hand!

Charming and fun. The finger sandwiches were especially tasty — my favorites were the chicken salad and turkey-Gruyère croissants. The tea menu is diverse and has something for everyone. I played it safe and had lemon tea but it was delicious. I went for a baby shower but would definitely return on my own to try other menu items. Very cute bistro for light fare and pastries. They have a full-service bar too!

After reading the reviews on here I wasn’t for sure if I was going to love or just be like ehh… Luckily it was love at first sip! They have plenty of teas to choose from they let you get refills and the ability to try other teas during your time there. At first when look at the food you think I might have to stop next door for Ledo pizza lol absolutely wrong! When I left there I was stuffed! The my favorite sandwich they had was the tuna sandwich! My favorite dessert was the fruit tart! Love love fruit tarts! My only drawback was personally I didn’t like the Asian Inspired theme/décor…yes it was relaxing but when I think of a tea place I think of country prints and southern things! Décor or not I will be back! :)

My parents gave my partner and I a Groupon for their afternoon tea as a Valentine’s Day present. Thanks, Mom and Dad! You had to make a reservation and I was worried when it took a few calls to get someone to answer the phone. Reservation was made and we were excited! Upon arrival, we were seated by a seemingly uptight hostess. I believe she is one of the owners and she ended up loosening up a lot. They were probably 90% full with most people using Groupons. Our waitress, Meg, was the best. I told her about the Groupon and she was excited to help us(she told us almost everyone there was using one on this day.) We like tea, but we don’t drink a lot of it. So, we were a bit overwhelmed by their multi page list. Meg was helpful and brought out a dish of tea leaves so we could smell it. Our tea arrived(we each got our own pot) and we dug right in. In the end, we both drank three pots of tea! Oh! Meg told us that if we really didn’t like the tea we chose she would get us something different. That was cool. We waited a bit for our food to come out but not horribly long. Long enough to have a good conversation and not feel rushed. We didn’t go with the high tea and we’re glad we didn’t because it would’ve been way too much food. The food arrived! Top layer was three sandwiches(we each got half). A tuna salad that my partner loved and I thought was ok, a chicken salad that was the best chicken salad I’ve ever had. We’ve actually duplicated it at home. The third was a ham and swiss on a croissant that was excellent. We don’t like swiss cheese but this was to die for. Oh, there was also shrimp cocktail that was really good. Good sized shrimp and the cocktail sauce was good and I don’t like cocktail sauce. They rubbed the rim of the shooter glass with Old Bay, which I thought was a nice touch. Second tier was made up of two white chocolate raspberry scones, jam and cream. Oh, some grapes as well. The scones were great! You can(and we did) buy some to take home. The bottom layer was dessert. We took about half of it home. There were two of each item: chocolate covered strawberries, meringues, fruit tarts, lemon tarts and and éclair. We LOVED our experience. It was our special tea afternoon. Something we’d never done before and are so glad we did. A few days later, we purchased more Groupons for lunch, so I“ll report back on that. Overall, great service. Like I said, our waitress was amazing. She had about half of the dining room and a young guy had the other half. Enough attention was paid to us to keep us happy but we were there to relax and we were not rushed. I’m very surprised that such a nice place is in this location! Can’t wait to go back!

A dear friend treated me to tea here with her Groupon. The waitress didn’t give us the Groupon Glare I’ve experienced at other places, but cheerfully offered us an upgrade, which I’m glad we took: for $ 5 more we got an excellent soup and salad in addition to savories, sweets and tea. The atmosphere is clearly Asian-influenced, and I love the décor. I wish they’d go all Asian and stop trying to imitate English-style tea with flowery teacups and tiered trays; the mix is a turnoff, and their indigenous style of fresh flowers, clean lines and muted tones is much more interesting. Food was fantastic: shrimp swimming in a creamy coconut broth that was almost sweet, fresh, crunchy vegetables in the salad, and the first cocktail sauce I’ve ever enjoyed(sour and spicy, not overly tomato-ey) with steamed shrimp. Sandwiches included chicken salad with sultanas, tuna salad with celery and mini ham-cheese croissants. Scones were not authentic(currants, maybe, but not raspberries, and certainly not white chocolate!) They have a pastry chef on staff, so the sweets were adorable and delicious: tiny tartlets with fruit and lemon curd, meringue kisses and chocolate-dipped strawberries. We both took food home. Honestly, the worst part was the tea — it was hot, but the flavors weren’t as described, and we had to ask for milk. The sugar came in packets, not cubes, and we kept running out and having to borrow from other tables. This wasn’t a big deal, since«tea» is really just an excuse to catch up over lunch, and my friend and I closed the place down, gabbing for several hours! The server, who was just attentive enough, didn’t bug us once, as they were busy preparing for dinner service.

Groupon for Afternoon Tea is the way to go! I’m not sure I would have been as happy with my visit if I had to pay full price. Nevermind that I was treated to tea by a friend :-) I would love to cover for them but I cannot lie. Hair on a clean plate is unattractive. And what kind of tea place is closed on Sundays? That’s the first day I think of when I want to have tea. The ambiance is quite nice for a little tea spot in Pasadena. The Jasmine Green tea was delicious but the Berry Jamboree was not their finest and I love tea. It sounded great but it was so bitter that I could not finish a cup. Steer clear. Their chicken apple sandwiches and tuna sandwiches are scrumptious. I don’t know what they do with the crust though because that’s my favorite part. It’s like the Europeans and Japanese think that the crust isn’t good enough to eat but I just want to go save the crusts and be in crust heaven. There were also shrimp cocktails too. Then came the blueberry scones with clotted cream and jam. That’s always a favorite. And the desserts on the bottom were cute but we were pretty full by that point. The mini eclairs were light and fluffy and yummy. I also managed to enjoy the little fruit tarts that not only looked good but also tasted good. Just wish the crust were a little lighter. The rest didn’t quite hit the spot. Chocolate covered strawberries aren’t my favorite and it’s not their fault that strawberries aren’t in season. The lemon tarts and meringue looked good but I would rather have chewy cookies or something. The best part of tea is catching up with girlfriends and I had a lovely time. There were also a ton of tempting desserts in the case that we peaked at on the way out but alas, our stomachs could only handle so many sweets in one day. Maybe next time.

My boyfriend and I decided to try out this restaurant because we heard it was a nice neighborhood restaurant. The cuisine is supposed to be «French-Vietnamese», I think the food is more on the Vietnamese side than French, but very delicious! I had the Crispy Rolls for my appetizer, Lemon Grass Chicken for my entrée and the Apple Tart for dessert. It was all very appetizing !! All the food is made fresh and you couldn’t go wrong with any of the desserts they offer. We went during a weekday night and most of their tables were full. The restaurant is on the smaller side; I believe it accommodates three tables of 4 – 5 and three or four tables of two. There is a bit of seating over on the bakery side of the restaurant also and maybe another seating area in the back? I didn’t really roam much around the restaurant to find out. We will definitely go back again sometime soon.
