Really cute place. What surprised me was that i loved their onion rings since i Hate onions! The troufle corn was good but not as good as i expected. My husband got the troufle burger medium rare which he enjoyed, i got the cheeseburger medium well. I can’t really comment on my burger due to the meat being cold, I could’ve sent it back but i was just tooo hungry to wait again lol Customer service was good. Would come back to try other items on the menu.

Hubby has been wanting steak and not just any ordinary steak, he wanted dry aged. I searched for one and found Meat District in Pasadena. The server had recommended the porterhouse since they ran out of the rib-eye he agreed to have it, ordered peppercorn and mushroom sauce on the side. This steak as described by Hubby to be tasty and delicious, best without any sauce since it was perfect just the way it is. It had been seasoned lightly with kosher salt just the way a good steak should taste like. Needless to say our lunch along with my surf and turf burger was perfect!

Awesome food! And our server Eve rocked! She was the sweetest thing, and had to deal with a total DB sitting across from us! We grabbed a burger rare, and some sliders, super yummy! Can’t wait to come back!

Went here tonight with my husband and found it remarkably underwhelming. We ordered the south western burger on a gluten free bun, the beef ribs, garden salad, and a side of sweet potato fries. The burger; was okay, it wasn’t horrible but for a place that specializes in meat it was awfully sub par. Not juicy, not super tender, not very flavorful. Simply ok. There were too many jalapenos and all in the same spot, too much cilantro and no additional greens, not enough avocado plus there were too many grey spots, also the potato was a bit dry. The burger overall, in fact, was a bit dry. Needed some sort of spread. The gluten free bun was ok, it’s nice that they offer one however it was very bland and tasted bleached. If this were at a fast food chain joint, I would give it three stars. Since it is a nice place, I would give it zero. The beef ribs; more good than bad but nothing super special. Very tender, nice flavor, slightly charred which is great. Not enough sauce on them, and when I asked for extra of the baste it was very very sweet and not in a very meat friendly way. Tasted sort of like sugary caramel, not my favorite. Would have been better if it were closer to barbecue, more honey based for sweetness. Nothing special, but not bad. The garden salad was simple, but still not that great. Not enough greens for a salad, too carrot pieces were a bit too big, all of the red onion was still together rather than separated. The italian dressing was alright, but a little too sweet for my liking however my husband thought it was fine and regular so it may just be my taste. The sweet potato fries were good, but simply because it’s hard for a sweet potato to be bad. Too soft, too cold, not very flavorful, nothing exciting at all. As for their sauces: We asked for horseradish, ketchup, and mustard. The ketchup and mustard were very standard, like any fast food restaurant. This isn’t horrible, but if you go to any other upscale burger joint all of their sauces even something as simple as ketchup are all gourmet or specially flavored in some way. Nothing plain. And as for horseradish, they had none. All they had was a horseradish mayo, which is simply mayonnaise with a tiny bit of horseradish. For a place that serves meat, this is horrible and unacceptable. Anywhere that serves meat always serves horseradish, that’s like serving fries without the option of ketchup. Baked potato without butter, soup without a spoon! You get the idea. Atmosphere: I liked the lighting a lot, and the dining area was set up nicely. Also they had a bar in the back which was very attractive. However, the kitchen is right in the room. You see them cook. Which, is very nicely done in some restaurants and can be a very neat feature. However in this scenario, it was not. There were many unattractive refrigerators with clear doors so you could see everything inside. It was simply static, very distracting and made the whole place a little louder than it should be. Very out of place. The tables were fine, not too big and not too small, pretty nice seating. On the table is a container with the napkins and silver ware, which I do think it quite odd and uncomfortable for a steakhouse. Usual and expected in a phở restaurant, not in an American restaurant. The music was ok, but very weird. All soft covers of popular songs. For example, one was Sam Smith’s «Stay With Me.» Same song, same singer, but a very very slow and soft version of it. Weird vibe. The Service: Not horrible, nothing special. They were all very mindless but receptive. They did what you told them to, but nothing extra. They didn’t suggest anything, comment on anything, or put any personality or charisma into anything. They did it, but that’s all they did. They were very casual in essence, not necessarily professional but not really unprofessional. Just ok. Only negatives would be that our table had no forks and we had to tell them about that, as well as the water glasses were fairly small(not super small, but still small enough to need to be checked occasionally) and we had to flag them down every time we needed a refill. All in all, not a horrible place but not a wonderful place. I don’t think I will be returning however if I ever had to I wouldn’t dread it by any means.

Six days of DineLA week and trying to hit as many places as possible. One place to try is Meat District Co. We were served by the talented Jessica Michaels. She knows her stuff. Trust her with the drinks. The drinks are wine based, but taste like the real thing. The appetizers were good, we tried the wings, onion rings and truffle fries — get the fries. Then the meals, we tried the rib eye and baby back. Best part — the Brussels sprouts. The rib eye is totally worth it. So are the baby back ribs. But it’s so much food, had to take it home. Can’t wait for breakfast. Then there’s dessert we had the peanut butter/chocolate and pineapple/coconut. Both are good — the coconut and peanut butter are mild in flavor. Must try if anything. Coming back for the slider flight and the bone marrow.

I am sorry to say but it was a disappointment. The service was definitely up to par and why it was hard to give it 1 star. The food on the other hand, was NOT up to par. Here is what we ordered: –5 Spice chicken wings: I personally found all those spices overwhelming. And I love wings! All those spices simply overpowered the wings. –Cheeseburger: Man o man, how can one mess up a cheeseburger? A big chunk of bland meat, buns that are way too big-they simply did not coordinate well, grilled onions that barely made an appearance. Yeah, that’ll do it. *Troy’s down the street from my house can hook up a better cheeseburger! Smh. –Beef ribs: My BF liked them. They were tender and meaty, but also bland.

So I’ve been wanting to go here for awhile now. Finally got to go since my wife suprise me on a dinner date. Which was awesome! This place looks great inside. Reminds me of eating out in a ranch/mining place? Appetizers: Beet chips and onion rings. Great flavor specially when combined with the aioli. Onion where on the spot. That’s how an onion ring should taste specially when combined with the aoli sauce. The beets were okay. But I did like the sauce that it came with. Had a little kick of spice into it. Main course: Wifey got the truffle burger with truffle fries. Taste was there, but to me it was just a truffle burger that I taste everywhere else. I had the Ribeye grass fed steak. Had it medium rare. When the steak came. I was a little bummed out cause it was kinda cold and it looked rare instead of being a medium rare. I was like noooo! But the taste was good. Next time when some of you do get the steaks just say medium well and it may come out medium rare. I love steak so this one I’ll probably pass and go try there beef ribs! Oh! One more thing their meats come from Harris Ranch. Not sure if it’s all of their meat. Overall if your a meat eater like me. Try it out. You won’t be disappointed. I’ll come back again.

Place: The place is located right by 50⁄50 burger which I believe is they’re competition. Its a nice cute little place with the kitchen open so you can see how they cook the meals and a small bar in the back. Very clean and love the hipster vibe. Service: Our server seemed super young but friendly for the most part, usually I take this in account for the service because why would you want to give a little girl a bad review. But anyways, she was very friendly and attentive but she messed up on our bill saying we didnt pay for one sandwich but in the end she just voided it. The food took forevvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvver to come, and some of my friends fries were cold. One of my other friends asked for no onions and he got onions –_– but they were very quick to change it. Food: Food was really good, I personally had the Burger with Jalepenos and it was soon good. The Jalepenos were very crunchy and the avocado was fresh and the meat was from Harris Ranch so you can’t go wrong with the meats. I also had a piece of my friends lamb sandwich, that too was delicious. The meat was so soft and yummy. I had a side salad with my burger and that was good as well, but it was very minimal, I had like 4 bites of it and it was done, I don’t know if it was worth $ 2 extra for that. The dressing was good tho.

First off, I love the décor! Also, the name is very appealing. Unfortunately, the food is mediocre along with the staff. We went on a Saturday night and the wait time was about 15 minutes. For appetizers we ordered the onion rings, which were extremely greasy, but good and the truffle corn. The corn was very undercooked, basically raw. I ordered the chicken hook, which comes with fries and a salad. My fries were cold and old. I’m talking about took from someone’s left overs and put onto my plate. Anyhow, the waitresses also double as hostess. The waitress who checked us in was extremely rude. Our waitress started off really well, but then disappeared. This restaurant is lacking a few things and that’s too bad because the concept is good.

The place is nice we went here for a bday party in the back room. They spent some nice change to make it an memorable experience and celebration. The service was okay for a large party. The meat hook was presented nicely but it was hard to get off and cut to eat the steaks. Medium is exactly how it is. The jumbo pork ribs was meaty, thin and dry just the way my husband likes it. Parking is not available but that is eating in pasadena.

Food is really good here. They specialize in beef — bother steak and burgers. They have salads and other things as well, though I’ve only had beef here. Service is attentive. They have a decent selection of wine and beer(and recently they added wine-based cocktails).

Meat heaven, I guess Thursday nights deal is buy 2 get the third free for beers. My husband and I were in old town walking around and doing some shopping for our first little one, scheduled to make his arrival in March. All of the sudden I was hit was severe hunger pains, even though I had a huge meal three hours prior, so I looked at my Unilocal app and started browsing my bookmarks. Meat District popped up and sounded like it would hit the spot. We walked up the street and discovered plenty of available tables in this dimly lit, industrial style restaurant. The design is minimal, black, white, and warm wood tones. The walls on the kitchen side are lined with white subway tile, reminiscent of a spot I love in NYC. There is a refrigerated room stocked full of temptingly fresh ingredients. The restaurant is much larger than it appears from the exterior, with three separate areas for dining and drinking. The food is awesome, the portion size of each entrée is bananas huge. I had the steak sandwich, which was flavorful and cooked to perfection. My hubs went for a massive foot long, literally, hotdog. He loved his as much as I love mine. Needless to say we will be making a return visit, especially when the craving for an aged cut of primo steak hits!

Looking for a Protein dinner meat spot, I made reservations thru Opentable for this place for a Friday night for 3. Parked a block away in a garage on Raymond(first 90 minutes were free). We stepped into this place and it was very loud. BUT, they led us to the back of the restaurant and its Quiet and more low key. I noticed there were other families with small children seated back there(I thought we were past this phase, especially since we had a teen with us) but, I appreciated that we could hear each other. They immediately brought us waters. Menus & some of the serving plates are in the shape of giant meat cleavers. Gimmicky. FYI, the plastic part of the menus were peeling apart. Drinks: Beer & Wine only Wine: Their wine selection was limited. They only had 1 Pinot Noir by the glass. It was decent. Starters: Five Spice Chicken Wings-Very Good. Better quality chicken wings and flavorful. Grilled Melon-melon is warm(daughter really disliked) and very little feta cheese. Pass. Onion Rings-too much batter and not crispy enough. Entrees: Meat Hook-Chunks of NY Sirloin, Rib Eye & Fillet w/Peppers, onions & corn w/creamy pepper sauce: This is served on a giant Skewer plate. Pepper sauce is drizzled down and it drips on your fries & salad(didn’t like that). As for the meat, each meat piece was somewhere between medium to medium well. The meat wasn’t juicy or flavorful, but the pepper sauce was its saving grace Sliders Flight-3 mini burgers: Old Faithful, Breaded Chicken & Lamb. Of the three, the Lamb was a Very Good taste combo. The chicken was overcooked and dry(wasn’t finished). The Old Faithful should have been a classic burger, but was average. Southwestern Burger-Daughter ordered this one. She asked for it Medium, it was medium well. She said it was bland and only ate half. Dessert: Nutella Shake-Daughter loved this one. Hubby and I took sips and it was Very Good. Service: Started off okay, but ebbed & wained. I’m guessing because we were separated from the main part of the restaurant. All 3 of us ran out of water, and I had to ask 2x before water was finally brought. Overall, food & service is a hit or miss.

Came here for dinner around 8pm on a Saturday night and was immediately seated. Figured I’d give Meat District another shot, since our last visit here was hopefully not a good judgement of the normal experience here. Service was pretty slow after we were seated, food took a really long time to be served. I think from what I thought, the problem may have been the kitchen and not the server or whoever was expediting. Our waiter was nice and he was helpful in refilling our waters and helping us out when one of our orders of a Street Dog did not have avocado. It was actually pretty annoying that they missed an ingredient that is notated in the menu. They came back with a small sauce cup with a small wedge of avocado in it. For some reason, it didn’t make up for the fact that they had missed that. I ordered the Salmon Burger on a wholewheat bun and the server came to tell me way later that they were out of wholewheat buns. I was a little bit more annoyed of that because on top of their Burger’s section it says«Served on a white or wholewheat bun». I didn’t like how they were not fully stocked on a key ingredient. The Salmon patty was flavorful, I thought it was not bad, but it definitely isn’t something I would come back craving for. I also added a side salad to my burger. My salad actually never came until I had asked the server. I got my burger first and had actually almost forgot about my salad until someone else had reminded me. Would have been nice if it had come beforehand… I didn’t really think there was any value in our experience this time around. I definitely felt that we overpaid for the food and service. The whole meal just didn’t flow normally, the long wait after ordering, lack of wheat buns, missing avocado in the hot dog, forgetting the salad, overpriced food… There’s definitely some small problems here that need to be sorted out with the restaurant. I really hoped this place would be enjoyable the second time around but I’m sorry, I left wishing I had just gone elsewhere in Old Town Pasadena.
