This park is smallish, but laid out well. The 2 play structures are great, in good condition with a variety of things to do on them. There’s a gorgeous view of the mountains if you look north. My sons and I will return. This park is really clean and well kept, in a very quiet neighborhood.

Great park! Cute little path going around it, nice field for playing sports(soccer, baseball, etc) and the playground is nice! It has two play structures, one for bigger kids and one for younger kids(like toddlers), which is nice.

I love the place! It is surrounded on all edges by homes, this gives the park a very neighborhood friendly vibe. I have used the volleyball net, basketball court and wall ball courts. NO complaints. There are picnicking areas with grills for your meat and plenty of trees on which you can hang your hammock!

Small park but packed with good things. This park has rest rooms, benches and table area, playground for the kids and a basketball court section. Excellent location to take your child for some active play time and fresh air. There is also room for whiffle ball or softball.

Lots of variety in this park makes it a great place for people to have fun. For kids, there are two play structures — one for older kids and one for younger. The structures are a little older style and favor challenge slightly over safety. There are two swing sets — one with two baby swings and two regular swings, and another with two baby swings. There is also a separate set of monkey bars and one horse-shaped spring-rocker. This park has a huge open grass area and lots of wide sidewalks that encircle and cross the park for kids to ride on with their bikes and scooters. Next to the play area are quite a few shaded picnic tables and one partly-shaded table that appear to be kept up fairly well. On weekends there seem to be a lot of birthday parties going on at the picnic tables. The park has a baseball backstop, basketball hoops and a wall where you could play handball. Lots of people enjoy using the open grass area to kick a soccer ball around too. The bathrooms seem to be fairly well kept. Parking is all street-parking on three sides of the park(there is no parking facing west on Mountain). We love this park.

this park brings me a lot of memories of pasadena. Yes I moved but I continue to venture here every week or bi-weekly to reminise. I miss living in Pasadena and I will move back here someday.

You’ll find me jogging around this park in the morning with my dog. It serves its purpose as providing natural serenity in a very busy part of Pasadena.

McDonald Park’s basketball court is the best outdoor basketball court in Pasadena, and perhaps all of Los Angeles. However, as there are no lights, pickup games usually only happen before daylight savings time changes. Mondays through Wednesdays at about 5:30 pm are prime time for 3 on 3, 4 on 4, or 5 on 5. It’s also good for just shooting around with Kynan(aka The President of McDonald Park.) There is also a sand volleyball court, large field where folks play soccer, and a small, newly-remodeled-but-still-ghetto playground. Bring your own hydration, as the bubblers are unreliable. During the winter months, please travel about 1 ½ miles Northwest to the decidedly less family-friendly Washington Park, on Washington and El Molino, where there is an outdoor park with light(s) for after-dark play.
