Amazing food, someone really cares about what they serve. Great place to stop for a cup & quick bite.

I stop by here for lunch at least once a week. I recommend the Hanks favorite(Tuna with bacon & avocado) Soooo Yummy and fresh!!! The staff is always great! They always get my order ready in a super timely matter since I’m usually running late or on my lunch. Johnny has the best customer service! He is friendly and professional! Keep up the great work!

Not the lovebirds I was expecting. Alhambras location is wonderful. Sandwich is always loaded w ingredients and rarely am I able to finish the whole thing. This location doesn’t make them the same. Tuna is runny and sparse. It was almost a perfect experience until I got my food. Friendly staff get the 2 stars but I most certainly won’t be back. I’m running out of places to eat in Pasadena but that may be a blessing in disguise as I can barely see my feet… Now if you’ll excuse me I need to go get lunch… Again

Disappointing. I’ve been to the Lovebirds in Alhambra, and really like it there. But this location is like a ‘hood version of Lovebirds. The location is dingy, with paint peeling on the walls, and there are homeless people hanging out outside. When we walked in to grab lunch, it looked like nothing would be fresh(or even sanitary!). If it wasn’t for the fact that we were in a rush, we absolutely would have gone somewhere else. We ordered the chicken sandwich with avocado and bacon. Over $ 10 for what was at best a mediocre sandwich that I easily could’ve made myself. Definitely a fail.

Very disappointing. I ordered a tuna melt today and essentially got a microwaved sandwich. The bread was moist and warm(not even browned), the tuna and cheese were melted. They didn’t grill it, I think they put it in a panini press!!! That ISNOT a grilled sandwich!

A small little place off Raymond in Pasadena that delivers great fair! I came in there to pickup a to go order and the staff was all very nice and the food was great! Just as a heads up — on the day I went in, the Soups of the Day had sold out — so just keep that in mind if that is your thing. Otherwise a nice little café/bakery to grab a bite that is very affordable especially when you are in Pasadena.

I only save reviews for positive feedback, and really only positive feedback when it is well deserved. Every time I visit this Lovebirds location, the staff is incredibly warm, friendly, and helpful. I am vegetarian and they have such fantastic and delicious vegetarian options among the non-veggie items. Everything I order tastes fresh, completely made to order and is always satisfying. Great staff, great food, great service and completely affordable. Good job Lovebirds on Raymond. You’ll keep me coming back!

This place had good reviews and the food looked good in photos. I placed a delivery order to try them out. 35 minutes after placing my order, my tummy was grumbling and was expecting food to arrive soon. Instead, I received notification from Eat24 that they had been unable to contact the restaurant to confirm my order.(Thanks Eat24!). I canceled my order and will not be ordering from this restaurant again — either for delivery or at location. It’s extremely disappointing that this happened and is completely unprofessional and unacceptable. Lovebirds Café & Bakery, you lost a customer before ever trying your food. Great job. — UPDATE: I received a personal call from the owner of Lovebirds Café, Sean, to apologize for my experience. It turns out the restaurant is not open on Saturday or Sunday, which explains all the problems with my order. It’s clear that customer satisfaction is very important to both Lovebirds Café and the owner. With this misunderstanding cleared up, I look forward to trying the food from Lovebirds Café! 1 star to 3 stars, neutral(since I have not tried the food yet).

Best sandwich hands down! Amazing. Had the French Connection. Bacon was warm, cheese perfectly melted but not hot, turkey still cool and the bread still cool… made for a perfect combination. I would highly recommend this place!

I’ve only tried their sandwiches and drinks. The sandwiches are just okay — tasty but nothing particularly special. Occasionally the bread they use can be a little tough, which is definitely disappointing, especially for the price. I’ve also found that their drinks to be hit or miss. I really enjoy their smoothies! I haven’t had a bad one yet. Their hot white chocolate mocha though tastes like diabetes in a cup. I really want to like this place more but today’s lunch experience sealed the deal. Two weeks ago I tried to order a chicken curry sandwich. They didn’t have it at the moment. No problem, I’ll just order something else. Today, I tried to order a chicken curry sandwich again. «We don’t have it. It’s discontinued.» Then why not update your menu to reflect that it’s something you will no longer be serving? So I ordered a breaded chicken parmesan sandwich. «We don’t have that either.» Great! I’ll just get a Thanksgiving Turkey sandwich. What bread would I like? Rye, please. «We don’t have rye right now.» Jesus. What DO you guys have then? I was clearly getting irritated by their limited menu. No apologies from either staff member for not having anything I wanted available. Just blunt responses. What great friendly and welcoming customer service… Thanks.

Came here four days ago for lunch — was surprised to find a Lovebirds café here — since the only one I’ve been to was in Alhambra but this was so much closer to me. The only probably was probably parking — only street parking. I had the combo — half sandwich and salad… I tried half the French Connection Sandwich and a Caesar salad. I didn’t like the cheese powder they put in the salad but liked that they separated the dressing. The sandwich — which was smoked turkey, bacon, tomato and onions… they definitely stacked a lot of turkey into the the sandwich which became a little overwhelming so I took out about half of it — though I love the bacon because it was crumbled and crunchy… sometimes when it’s a strip of bacon it’s can get chewy but crumbling it or making it into bits gives it a crunchy texture. My boyfriend had the Chicken Gumbo soup and half of a sandwich as well. The soup was pretty spicy but was made with a lot of ingredients so it was pretty tasty. His half sandwich — Egg Salad served on Jewish Egg bread was pretty good. He also had a Watermelon Lemonade — it was super light but refreshing. I had a Latte which was also pretty good — smooth and creamy. The service was pretty good but the place was kind of small so not super ideal when it’s busy — not a lot of tables/seats. Another thing I do like was their menu of drinks — lots and lots of choices — gotta come back to try some of their smoothies — they sound good. Another thing I like is their choices of bread — they had about 8 –10 choices of breads you can have your sandwich on. They are located near the metro station and there is an art school nearby as well as other businesses — super convenient for people around the area to grab lunch or breakfast.

The people are awesome and the sheer variety of choices are great. Salad, soup and sandwich combos galore, and great muffins and cookies. We come here nearly weekly and it’s definitely one of the best restaurants in our usual rotation.

I like the Lovebirds Café location on Colorado better than this one. The service was still good. I asked for a recommendation on the sandwiches and the girl recommended the balsamic chicken panini. I also ordered a half portion of Greek salad. The panini was okay. The chicken tasted a little dry and too plain for my liking. I think the panini was supposed to have cheese and I couldn’t even taste it. So the panini was not my favorite, but the salad was good. I think next time I’ll just order something different.

This review is for their delivery. I ordered three sandwiches from Lovebirds, which I happen to live extremely close to. I have so much work to do from home that I couldn’t get away from my desk for the 15 minutes it would have taken to just go and get the sandwiches myself. At any rate, it took lovebirds an HOURANDFORTYFIVE minutes. They said it would be there in 45 minutes, they were a full hour after that. The kid that delivered the sandwiches was just listening to his iPod and wandering around– no apology, no nothing. The sandwiches were soggy and luke warm. The BBQ Chicken sandwich is just a giant chunk of chicken covered in BBQ sauce– I added avocado and the staff just sliced a full avocado and put it in just one part of the sandwich. It all fell apart anyways, but still. Talk about not caring at all about quality or service. The panini sandwich was slightly burnt and was so hard my boyfriend couldn’t even eat it. This location does not have the same quality and service as the location on Colorado. Stay away.

I’ve been wanting to write this review for some time but I figured I’d wait till the end of my 3 month stint in Pasadena to write a Unilocal review that will light up the sky and qualify as my attempt at winning a Pulitzer because I really and truly love this place. Well that day has arrived. I’ve eaten breakfast and/or lunch at this café 2 – 3 times a week for the last 3 months because I work on a construction project a block away. Well now our construction project has finished and I will likely no longer be around to enjoy their wonderfully delicious breakfast croissants & burritos(very affordable) or their massive cobb salad(which is so good, you forget you’re eating a salad) or their«Hank’s Favorite», which is a Tuna Bacon Avocado sandwich that I have renamed«Sean’s Favorite». But honestly, the thing I will miss most is the excellent and friendly customer service. It did not take long before the employees learned my name and they seemed genuinely happy to see me in the mornings despite my tired(sometimes hungover) appearance. For instance, on Christmas Eve they were closing a bit early since it was a slow day and, you know, baby Jesus was coming. But they saw me walk up, check the locked door, acknowledge they were closed and start walking away. Sure enough, they opened back up just to feed little, old me. How about that for holiday spirit? Also, when I told them today was likely my last visit, they gave me a free cookie! For all the sadists that don’t think that’s a big deal, I think McDonalds is open. For me, the next time I’m in Pasadena will mean a trip to Lovebirds Café.

The«secret» Lovebirds Café & Bakery. This one has been open for six months or more. I don’t understand why there are no reviews and it is not even mentioned on the Lovebirds Café & Bakery website. I went today for an egg, ham, and cheese croissant. Big and tasty! The last time I was here I had a sandwich that was typical Lovebirds… big, fresh, and delicious. I have never had a bad sandwich at any of the Lovebirds locations. There is parking in the nearby Metro lot or if you are riding the Metro Gold Line you can exit at the Fillmore station and walk a few steps for bit to eat, ice cream, or a hot or cold drink.
