Great service of staff and amazing food. I ordered the sope asada. And Nacho asada fries. Food was stacked high of meat. Not like other places that give you little. My wife got torta asada, chili rellono. She loved it. We also got morning food :) breakfast burrito egg with chorizo. Oh and had to get my Sprite and the sauce they have on the side which is a plus+++ for being the first time here I know I will return. I may get tacos next time and try more breakfast.

Best lengua in town bar none, in my humble opinion. The rice is good and so is the hot hats. The female cashier was friendly and very courteous. Usually plenty of parking in the evening.

I decided to give this place a shot, I have a friend who is always raving about this place, so I went in. I’m a chef and restaurant manager, so every place I visit I try to keep an open mind and give it a try. Los Tacos is mediocre, high priced food. Very bland. Lacks spice, and worst of all– greasy. I had a vegetarian tostada. The shell tasted of week old frying oil. The best thing about my meal was the pineapple aqua Fresca. The service need improvement as well. I don’t recommend this restaurant. At all.

My 2nd Sunday noon there and my last one; I started with a super good taco de asada, but I then decided to try«something different this time» and asked for a taco de birria. They giggled, the two cooks, who took my order directly from me, as the girl at the cashier was distracted(the place was empty, except for my and a man who was waiting for his order to be served). I could see why the smirk: I got their worst meat cuts, full of grease(white chunks!), even tubes(ligaments) and rubbery tendons, all swimming in lard. I said to them«nobody can eat this»; they quickly replied, as if used to it: «we’ll give you another one». I left with a «No, thanks, my mouth is coated in grease sticking to my palate, tongue, everything». They could have offered a tamarind juice or some water, just to clean my mouth. But they didn’t. The girl with the bovine expression just offered her Fluoride Stare. The other girl, the petite, just looked embarrassed.

I have been coming to Los Tacos for almost the last 30 years and it has always been, hands down, my favorite Mexican food takeout place in the entire San Gabriel Valley! Having grown up attending the same schools and the owner’s daughters, Los Tacos has always been a huge presence in my life! Everything is excellent from the service, to the menu, to the location. And they have an awesome salsa bar… very important to someone like me! Their prices have also remained so reasonable over the years too… very rare in today’s economy! Oh, and they have the BEST damn potato tacos in the world!!! OMG!!!

Well I under estimated Fidel & his teams ability to live up to my expectations. Let me tell you they out did them! I am a caterer & have been a wedding planner for over 20 years. Fidel & his team catered my son’s wedding. Not a back yard wedding, not a casual wedding but at Union Station in LA. Their presentation, service & quality of the food was amazing. I cannot thank Fidel enough for his attentiveness of our guests, the entire reception was overwhelmed with great Mexican food. His food was good from appetizers, to dinner buffet to the bar. His serving staff was amazing. They handled the champagne toast and it went off without a hitch. Thank you Fidel & staff! Truly from the bottom of my heart… thank you, thank you, thank you! I am fairly controlling because of my being in the business but I was able to let go & trust you! Your food, service & presentation was impeccable. Thank you for a successful evening!

A couple of years ago the food was much better than it was when I visited recently. We got the carne asada combo to go and by the time we got home(30 min. later) the meat was very dry and impossible to eat. Don’t know if we’ll be going back.

Just okay. It’s passable. It doesn’t have a good authentic Mexican taste… too many health standards probably in the way. It’s got an authentic Mexican atmosphere. Food is mediocre and over priced.

1÷20÷16 ignore the bad reviews… service, it is a walk up counter, so the staff is busy. get over it
ambiance is cafeteria style; free private parking lot, and wifi, free refills on fountain drinks The food is great– real Mole sauce, succulent Lengua, flavorful Birra, the rocket fuel hot salsa. they are not kidding around. Everything we tried was great. get stuffed for under $ 11 or less. great value, for real Mexican food

This is only for the service. Nobody in the place and they are all standing around talking and ignoring 3 customers. No *Hi or *Thank you*. Felt like a unwanted guest in someone new house. The food is average, I can’t wait for the Urbano Mexican Kitchen Opens up so I have another place to go! Parking sucks too.

I went to los tacos for the first time about a month ago. I got ready to order and then they told me that they don’t take credit cards. So I left and today I decided to give it another try with cash. As I walked in I was the only one at the counter. It wasn’t very busy, but then a lady walked in and she(the girl at the counter) immediately took the order of the new customer instead of me. Then when I finally ordered she gave me this attitude like I was bothering her at work or ruining her day. I asked for water also but she made me wait until somebody else ordered and then she gave me a glass of water. At that point I just wanted to leave and get my money back. But I figured I’ll give it a try still. I had seen other people going there and I wasn’t sure how good the food was so I thought I’d give it a try. I ordered a burrito and when I sat down and picked up a burrito it just fell apart! I also have to mention the the bite that I did get was extremely salty it was like pouring salt all over my burrito. I also found that buying something from this place can cost you a bit of cash. I tried this place but I’ll never come back. there’s a million other Mexican food places that are far superior than this. Also for a cheaper price, and the help is just nicer. Also it’s not worth the little parking space that you have to pull in where it’s always packed with people going to the cleaners or the antique store. everyone shares the same lot. So in closing I hardly ever post and I’m not a person who just wants to be mean to a business, but I also call it like I see it. if the service is not good the food is not good I can’t recommend it.

Great Mexican food. Very authentic… Service is great. It is local restaurant in Pasadena but worth a visit. Must order the combo deal since it comes with Main and Spanish rice, beans, and lettuce with cream. All foods are served in ceramic plates making it homemade style.

This is not haute cuisine, nor do they pretend to be. It is good, old-fashioned Mexican food. Yes, it can be greasy, but it is also very flavorful and everything seems freshly made. If you are looking for health food or a fancy restaurant, this is not the place. If you want an old style Mexican combo meal for a very reasonable price, then you won’t go wrong here.

This is a well-worn but clean restaurant. We’ve visited a few times and I inevitably get the same two item combo plate, soft taco with the marinated beef, chicken mini burrito. By the time I’ve inhaled the flan I am ready to roll out the door because it’s delicious and filling food. It looks like a tiny parking lot but I usually have no problem finding a spot on the weekends.

Food is authentic and good but, none of the combos come with drinks! When you do get a drink sip site because there are no refills. I have been coming here for years and have never had anything that I didn’t like.

I frequently purchase their groupons because it was a good deal until they started raising their prices. I believe if you get a combo burrito with meat, it will now go for about $ 9. This is no way Chipotle quality so I am not sure why they are charging more. The last two times I’ve frequent this place the carne asada and birria were both dry and very salty. Their only saving grace are their nachos. but at $ 10 for a large… it’s not worth it. Definitely do not come here unless you have a groupon AND are okay with eating mediocre to poor«mexican» food.

Those Super Nachos with chicken hit the spot, it’s a perfect large plate of deliciousness to share with a friend. They offer some rocket fuel hot sauce which is actually hot, we loved it. Look for Groupon offerings to get more bang for your buck.

Ordered nachos with a certain kind of meat that Unilocal spell check will not allow me to write carn… They took my money, I gave a tip in the tip jar. Then they told me 4hey were out of the meat my wife and I wanted. Since my wife only likes the nachos with meat and they were out of the meat I had to get my money back. Tip was lost. Pros: Pretty good guacamole and chips. Cons: VERY greasy tacos. Potato tacos and the cheese on top lack flavor. Additionally, once when we ordered food, the person behind the counter cleared tables and handled trash, then handled our food without washing his hands. We refused the order, asked for a refund, and left.

I hate writing this review, because I actually really like the food here. I just don’t know how else to get some justice. On May 20th(I remember this because it was my BIRTHDAY), my husband and I stopped by to pick up some food for our kids and babysitter to eat. We live close and come here all the time for fast, cheap, reasonably good burritos and tacos. My husband left me in the car with our daughter to run inside. He was standing in line playing with the wedding ring on his finger when it slipped off and fell under their counter. We have not seen it since. They have refused to help us find it. We stopped by later that evening and asked if we could help them look, I sent a friend by to help, we have called numerous times, spoke with the manager, etc. Their reply is «ITISNOTOURPROBLEM.» It had to have rolled under a fridge or something. It did not vanish into thin air. It wouldn’t(and shouldn’t) be hard to move things out to look. This is not even about customer service, it’s about human decency. They obviously have none of that. We’re looking into buying a new ring, which will just be a ring, because our wedding ring is being held hostage by Los Tacos! Avoid this place.

This restaurant seems to be very polarizing, based on the extremes of previous reviews. I can’t really think of any glaring inadequacies of this place, but rather there were just a host of little issues here and there that added up to «2» stars, in my opinion. For example, the beans came out really watery. The bottled water I got was room temperature. The tables and seats were worn. The dining area smelled funny. The restroom was offputting. I would not come back.

Pretty good lunch place if you don’t like food… My first mistake was ordering the fish. It was… Fishy… Not in a good way. And rubbery, there were bones and other inedible bits. The rest of the burrito was bland and didn’t taste good. Ugh, I would have been better off just grabbing a salad at Starbucks. Wasted meal and probably super unhealthy.

The manager refused to honor our 2nd groupon because we were the«same party». Food is definitely not worth it unless you have the 50% off groupon. I ordered the carne asada combo plate which didn’t taste like carne asada at all. Super bland and it looked like rabbit pellets. Other than that I also came with beans, a tiny thing of sour cream and rice. The portion is also super small. For $ 10(Normal price), I expect more, which is again why I say that it’s not worth it unless you use a groupon to eat here. I won’t be back.

Roughly 3.5 stars. TIP: Bring cash only. What I really like about this place is that they give you a lot of meat for each taco you order. I love it when I can’t quite wrap the tortilla around the meat when taking a bite out of my taco; I like the meat falling out as I take a bite. I ordered the 4 taco special which came out to about $ 7. I also ordered the horchata which was $ 2. I ordered the Birria, carne asada, al pastor, and pollo. I loved the Birria taco(marinated beef), they were flavorful, juicy, and savory. The sauce was quite delicious. The meat was tender and succulent. The carne asada wasn’t as flavorful as I wanted it to be. Had I not squeezed the lime, I don’t think I would have gotten the flavors I was looking for. The pollo was great. Juicy, tender, and flavorful. No complaints about that one. The Al Pastor(marinated pork) was nothing special. I actually mistook it for the carne asada. I wish the pork had more of a pull-pork texture; the meat was more on the dry side. The horchata had all the right flavors, but it was a little watered down for my taste. I’ve read from previous reviews that the place serves watered down salsas, but from my experience, I have to disagree and say that their salsas are thick in body and each salsas are bold in their flavors and spiciness, especially the hot and extra hot salsas. All in all, I was satisfied with the meal. It was great. The place was clean and the service was nice, fast, and friendly. I am just curious about how the place fares when it’s a bit busier. I will come back to this place to see how consistent it is. I also want to try other items and also try their tacos again, just to see if my memory serves me right.

つº oº つ RAISEYOURCUTLERY つº oº つ Quick Bite: Nearly all of the food here has no flavor, which is a shame because it all looks so nice. Full Review: Pasadena, unsurprisingly, is not an area known for its tacos. But damnit if I don’t take advantage of value when it rears its beautiful head. Only the power of Groupon can make me throw caution to the wind and go places I might not have otherwise. Holy smokes does a Groupon get you a lot of food. The $ 11 Groupon got me 8 tacos, a tub of guacamole, and a bag of chips. It’s a lot. What actually impressed me about Los Tacos is how flavorless their guacamole is. I could feel in my mouth that I was eating guacamole, but I certainly couldn’t taste any. As with the tacos, I have serious doubts that they use any seasoning whatsoever. Out of the four kinds of tacos I ordered, I only enjoyed the birria, the beef tasted like some real attention was paid to it, and it was tasty! The fish taco tasted, well, fishy. The other two were flavorless, like the guacamole. The salsa bar didn’t help much, the salsas were generic and didn’t offer much to rescue the cardboard that I had been served. I’m convinced that Los Tacos is designed to feed children who don’t know what tacos are supposed to taste like. There were two televisions in the restaurant, one of which was tuned to CNN, the other one Nickelodeon. Los Tacos isn’t for someone like me, single with no kids. I think it’s meant for families who have to make the tough compromise of convenience over quality. It’s rather difficult to write a review about a restaurant when you can’t taste anything. Even if you’re tempted by a Groupon like I was, spend your taco dollar elsewhere. — The Gourmand League

LOVE this taco place. It’s a little hide-away off Fair Oaks, on the west side of the street. You can usually park in front of the store. Walk in, order, pay, and the food will be brought to you in about 10 minutes. Our regular obsessions: Hard shell taco with beef($ 2.25 each) Fish taco($ 1.75 each)– this is my most favorite, I always have to have 3 or 4! Juicy, delicious, not greasy. There are also flan and Fruit drinks by the counter. Self-help out salsa station. Staffs are friendly. They clean up the tables diligently. A place of simple pleasure. I will always be back.
