I have made the switch from Vinh’s to Joanna’s. I just got sick and tired of waiting countless hours for a haircut. Joanna does a equally good job and maybe even better. You schedule a time and go get your haircut. Joanna is super friendly and nice. Definitely come and check her out.

I LOVE going to Joanna! Her new location is really modern and trendy. Definite upgrade. She’s been my stylist for over 3 years now and I love being greeted with her hugs, water, beer, or sweets. I’ve got curly and wavy hair that’s not easy to deal with, but I always come away lookin fresh.
Aside from being great at her job, Joanna’s got a great heart. She’s always been supportive of my non-​profits by not just donating her money, but time and services as well. When you see Joanna, you won’t just get a stylist, but an awesome friend! =)

Joanna’s new space at Union Salon South is clean, spacious, fancy and comfortable.
I showed up stressed out from a long commute home from work and was immediately offered water, coffee, tea, beer, white or red wine! I went with the white wine and started to immediately feel better after Joanna brought me a generous glass.
The bib thing was clean and the most comfortable bib I’ve ever worn. Might seem like a little thing but Joanna and this Union Salon South place have put a lot of thought and care into every detail.
I’ve never grown comfortable with paying salon prices for my haircuts. I don’t think I ever will. I still think fondly to being a kid and paying like $ 15 at the barber shop. But with Joanna’s haircuts there’s a lot of value added (especially if you take them up on the wine) and dare I say it’s actually a bargain!
Joanna is cool. Her demeanor is very grounded and unassuming. She’s smart, she’s natural. She’s an artist. She takes her time with your hair and does amazing work.
If you live close to this place and are in the market for a new hair cutter or stylist or whatever this is the easiest decision you’ll ever make.

She’s an attentive, detail-​oriented stylist and a super fun girl to talk to and spend time with. I highly recommend her.
It’s to the point where I can go in and she’ll know what my hair needs. I can trust her to try out different styles on me. While I always stay within the realm of a contemporary men’s cut, I enjoy getting something longer, or shorter, or preppier. Joanna riffs off of what I usually get, which is a fun way to keep hair interesting and seasonal.
I love how she styles my girlfriend’s hair as well. A similar look to Olivia Munn’s hairstyle on Newsroom– it’s always a nicely tailored, layered look for her shoulder length style, which she blow-​dries to add volume and bounce.
Joanna was my hair and makeup stylist on an editorial fashion shoot (I’m a photographer). She brought her equipment, showed up on time, and did three separate looks for our model that whole day. The looks turned out fantastic.
To have trust in a stylist to maintain our personal image is a great treasure. Joanna is nothing short of that.

You can find Joanna at her new location, Union Salon South! I’ve been going to her for years and she’s the only one I’ll have cut my hair. When I first went to her I felt like all haircuts on my flat straight hair were the same… I was so wrong! Normally no one will notice when I’ve cut my hair but she can see how to layer my hair so it frames my face in just the right way and people began to take notice. I’m pretty particular about my services and Joanna is definitely my go to person for hair and make up. I’ve referred two of my friends to her and they’ve also converted. She is also great with make up and hair color! Joanna is a perfectionist and does a great job, she did my make up for a wedding and it looked good even in photos. I usually hate getting up dos because they don’t look right on me, Joanna nailed that too! Union Salon South is a 2^nd location to the Union Salon in Old Town, the place looks amazing! I recommend Joanna to everyone!
