J Stephens Shoes

I went to this store in the Westfield shopping mall in Sherman Oaks. They have a great selection of shoes for comfort and are all well made brands. I bought a pair of Earthies that were adorable, but just not as comfortable as they looked (the heels were a bit narrow and made it hard to walk) I returned the shoes and the Manager suggested Bernie Mev’s…Oh My God! The most comfortable shoes I’ve ever had! I was pleased that they let me return the Earthies, and I found out about this new brand.
Great store, I’ll be back!

What a disappointment! This shop has a great selection of cute, comfortable walking shoes for men and women (Earth, Ecco, Born – just the good stuff), and friendly, helpful staff, and I thought it would be a new favorite.
But when my sister recently bought a pair of Earth shoe sneakers, she had a good experience that quickly turned terrible. The shoes were a half size bigger than she usually wears and roomy in the toe, but the female clerk assured both of us that the sizing was fine, and if there was any problem she could bring them in within 30 days to exchange them. My sister wore the shoes for an hour and realized that they were too big, called the shop and was assured by a male clerk that she could bring them back for exchange.
But when she called again to make sure her size was in stock she got the owner on the phone, and this is where the problems started. The owner reneged on the promise from the original salesgirl that my sister had a month in which to decide if the shoes fit and insisted that by wearing them for one hour, my sister had destroyed the value of the shoes. Without seeing them (they still look brand new) he informed her that he could not sell «scuffed» shoes to another customer. He refused to help her, and his negative attitude even extended to hanging the phone up in her ear.
Too bad. It’s a cute store with a good selection, but such terrible customer service makes it a must to avoid.
