We wanted to buy a house, so we went in early May of 2008 to seek advice about whether or not to sell or rent our current home. After many small errors and lack of communication(10 days without a response), we were presented with a two-page report. They promised us the calculations were based on hypothetical tax returns they had done for each scenario, though we were not presented with these returns or any other evidence or explanation of their assumptions or conclusions. We were also«advised» to violate the contract on one of our mortgages because«they would never check on it». After that«advice» we got an invoice for $ 900. I told them I would not pay until I had the tax returns they supposedly used to formulate their«report». That was in July. Last week(October) we received the tax returns and a second invoice. I mean, who are you kidding? In that time I did all the research myself and bought a house — and their calculations weren’t very close to what it turned out to be.
