The best mandarin ice cream I have ever tasted! Can’t wait til you get your product in grocery stores so it’s easier to get. Next time I’m up there I’m buying a week supply!

Liar! Scumbag! I repeat, my daughter ordered a single cup. Are you saying that it’s less bad to scam an adult than a child? Nice ethics, refer to my previous assessment of your scumbag character. See the Unilocal review of another guy who was similarly scammed. Yours, buddy, is a losing business model. Karma’s going to be a bitch for you. BTW, I called the police who are checking on you. I do hope you have been scrupulous with your paperwork with the city.

I sampled the strawberry bannana sorbet. It was really good. I decided to buy a serving of the pineapple sorbet and it was even better. Can’t wait to try more from this solar powered food«truck».

Spotted Epicurus 101 in today’s heat and felt like it was an oasis in the desert! I ended up getting the papaya sorbet for myself and my 2 year old and we devoured it! So delicious! I had to stop back and get the dark chocolate flavor to enjoy later. By far, the most delicious chocolate«nice» cream I’ve ever had! I’ll have to stock up! Wish I could get a jumbo tub!

Met Dr John, the owner of Epicurus 101, in Old Town Pasadena tonight and sampled the Pinapple ice cream and it was delicious! It was so popular tonight, I only got a sample. I ordered the Coconut Sorbet and it was supreme! I will order this honey-laden coconut concoction again! Way to go Dr John and Epicurus 101!

We saw John in Old Town Pasadena. John is a nice guy who will let you sample his sorbet. We have bought sorbet from him a couple times. It is very nice – not too sweet and doesn’t taste artificial. We will buy from him again the next time we see him!

The owner had my first review removed because he thought it was too negative so I’m trying again. We shall see if he has this one removed too. My mother and I bought the cinnamon apple butter and tomato soup that John had that day. The sample of apple butter had a lovely texture but when I got it home the flavor of cinnamon candy was too strong except in the tiniest portions. The tomato soup was unseasoned and required a lot of fixing up. It turned out just okay in the end. And at 10 $ for 16oz I still think the apple butter was overpriced.

After having lunch at Lemonade, we were curious to have encountered Epicurus 101. What was it? John’s «100% solar-powered food truck» is what the crazy eco-friendly contraption was. Truly impressive. But what’s inside it? Ice cream? Fruit bars? Nope! It’s sorbet. I am not a true fan of sorbet, but it’s always imperative to try a sample of something that might just blow your mind. I am so glad I did! Not to mention, today was one of the hottest days in Pasadena… needed a cool down. Dang, I’ve never had sorbet like this. The Joyous Jackfruit is to die for! Luscious and guilt-free! Gluten-free, sweetened with raw honey, all natural and Godsent. I do not know how he was able to encompass the richness of the magical tropical Jackfruit. Extremely creamy, soft, icy, and all around quite too good to be called a 7 $ sorbet. It literally takes him 6 whole days to make this incredible synergy of deliciousness. It will be savored graciously. I’m looking forward to seeing Epicurus 101 on the streets of Pasadena again.

I’ve had gazpacho from this great business and it set an impressive precedent. It was a great-tasting summer soup, flavorful and filling. Just yesterday I received a sample the blackberry sorbet, and once again I was left thoroughly impressed. I didn’t buy it but it was on my mind all night, and my boyfriend surprised me with just this sorbet today! The blackberry sorbet tastes like amazing ripe blackberries and honey– and that’s it. Completely fresh and totally tasty. Plus, it’s a generous size so I can divide the amazing treat between today and tomorrow. I can’t wait to try all the other flavors! My boyfriend swears by the strawberry and mint sorbet; he loved the refreshing minty undertone.

I worked in Pasadena area and saw this«food truck» a few times but never pay attention to it. I was walking by this evening and the owner asked if i want to buy his delicious clam chowder! I was like, thats one of my favorite soup so why not? So i bought a large container from him. It was actually very delicious! I will go back next time to try the sorbet!

A message sent by John H., the owner: «Hey Jimbo. Your review contains inaccuracies which are hurting my business. Please remove it. There are serious consequences for slander and libel.» I have kindly complied by erasing the original very positive 4 Unilocal star review of Epicurus 101. Extremely strange that John H, the owner, finds a great, glowing 4 star Unilocal review to be so distasteful for his business.

I saw John in front of blaze pizza on Tuesday and finally satisfied my curiosity of why he was always there. Turns out he was selling soups! He had corn chowder that day and at first we were hesitant with purchasing because it was $ 8. The soup was AMAZING and just the way I liked it. A lot of corn, bacon, potatoes and whole bunch of other things. The bf and I ate it all that night! John is so nice and his«food truck» is definitely very cool! Will definitely revisit next time I see him and will need to try the sweet treats once summer comes along!

This gelato is amazing. I have never had such a fresh and delicious snack, that was this healthy. I can’t wait for the soup, salads, and sandwiches launch in December. Thank you John for the delicious and healthy meals. Blessings. Ernesto

It’s pretty darn expensive sorbet($ 5), but it’s so delicious and fresh that it’s worth not paying for cheaper, artificially made, older options from the super market. John is really nice and will even text you his location if you ask for it(although I think he’s just set up GPS tracking on his website ). People at my office love this guy so I’ve been able to try a few flavors. My favorites have been watermelon sorbet and coconut sorbet. It’s like literally pulling the fruit out of the freezer, cutting it, and eating it(or how I imagine it’d be). A note about the coconut– it tastes like coconut meat, not like a coconut milk(since it’s sorbet obviously). If you spot him and you’re looking for a treat, definitely stop by John’s Epicurus vehicle :)

Just tried the raspberry sorbet and absolutely loved it. Very fresh and perfect for a summer day. Using the honey as a sweetener was a nice touch. Aside from the flavor, it was cool to see a fully solar-powered food truck. I will be back.

By far the best sorbet I’ve had! Oh John, how did you manage to put an entire mango into a 6 ounce container for only $ 5.00? You must track him down and ask him for a sample, you will not be disappointed. He uses all natural ingredients with no added chemicals! Let’s see… mango(fiber and all), sea salt, water and honey. And that’s just for the mango flavor. I cannot wait to try them all! Thanks John, you made my day!

I had a serving of blueberry sorbet earlier this evening at an outdoor event where the Epicurus 101 was parked with his ice cream caravan. At first the price of $ 5 seemed a bit much, but after tasting it, it was well worth it. The label states its ingredients as consisting of blueberries, water, honey, and sea salt. That’s it! It was just some simple yet delicious iced sorbet. I look forward to trying his other concoctions.
