Took our van to have a front end alignment on Saturday. We bought the lifetime alignment package. Picked up the van at 6pm(even though we were promised it would be ready at 3pm) We paid for the services, the guy handed us the envelope and never said a word. We drove it home and the van still pulls to the right. Called back up there the next day to explain it wasn’t aligned and were told, oh yeah, you need new tie rods, etc and it can’t be aligned properly. Why were we not called and told this? Why did they take our $ 130 for a job that wasn’t going to be correct. The tech replied that he did what we asked him to do and it was better than it was when we brought it in. We didn’t pay to have it «better», we paid to have it fixed. He then said, well you have the lifetime warranty, what’s the big deal? The person stated over and over again that this was just Brake Check’s policy. Which translates that their policy is to rip people off without truly helping them. We would have gladly paid the money to have the necessary repairs done in addition to the front end alignment but we were never told. We weren’t told before the alignment was done, we weren’t told at pick up, we were only told when we called back to complain. the person we spoke to told us several different stories. One that they didn’t know that the vehicle had other issues– yet they knew the next day when we called to complain. He just said time and time again that it’s just Brake Check’s policy and he is there to get his check and that’s just the way it is. He stated that a lot of people complain but his hands are tied. He said he didn’t think it was right, but he needs a paycheck. Their own employees think they do unethical work! It would have been easier and less time consuming to just drop off $ 130 on our way to another place that does reputable work. We bought a lifetime alignment warranty, that I never want to use because I don’t want people that don’t care about my vehicle, my safety, my money or my satisfaction touching my vehicle. I want to take to someone that is proactive and not reactive. I would be a repeat customer as the store is 1 block from my house, yet Brake Check’s policy is to basically take money and say it’s better than it was… We do A/C repair. People pay us to fix their air condition in their homes. If we went out to a home that was 90 degrees, got the air blowing and the temp down to 80 degrees, charged the customer and left and when they called back told them that it was better than it was, deal with it. I don’t think we would get many more customers.
