The real deal here is the almond croissants. They are light and crispy puff-pastry, filled with a marzipan paste. Delish. The chocolate croissants are also excellent. The croissants most places sell aren’t made of puff-pastry — they are some kind of bready dough. Aux Delices makes the genuine article. As they only make one or two almond croissants a day, and a few more chocolate croissants, I order them the night before or early in the morning if I want to ensure I get one. And when I picked them up the last time they were still warm from the oven! Yum!

I have never had such a bad salad. This place is over priced and not good at all. Don’t waste your time or money. I would recommend any place in old town but this one. I had the mango salad for $ 10 and it was the saddest salad I have ever seen. It was just lettuce thrown on top of the plate with mango slices. Nothing fancy or slightly appetizing.

Sorry but I’m limited to five stars. The napoleon, palmier and cappucino crème brûlée here were PHENOMENAL. They have a great selection for breakfast as well which they serve till 3pm. Definitely will be back.

They have the best napoleon pastry! Omg… Always fresh & tasty. We drive to Pasadena just to pick up one of these on a weekly basis!

Cute little café right in the middle of old I came midday for lunch and got the chicken mango salad. Overall it was ok. The salad lacked flavor but it’s a café so I don’t suppose that’s what they’re know for. My friend had the breakfast omelette and it looked amazing! I’ll be sure to try that next time. The place is small. Probably about 6 tables. There are two tables outside as well. Reasonably priced and a nice switch from chain cafes near by.

Create, cozy ambiance. The pastries aren’t too sweet and are adorable. They serve three sizes of beverages; S, M, and L. They have sandwich, breakfast, salads, grilled paninis, hand toss pizza, bagel sandwiches. It’s along Colorado Street so it’s so accessible.

I’ve been going to this place for years! I first went when I was little with my mom and sister and I’ve loved it since. I went recently and the place hasnt changed! The decorations are super cute, it has sortve a tumblr esque look to it. The food is delicious! I usually get the Tuna sandwhich and they always have fruit and pasta salad to the side, which I also love. The food is beautifully crafted. The staff is also super nice and friendly. I always go here when I’m around the area.

This is a definite stop every time I go to Pasadena. I’ve had several of their desserts, but I love, love, love the chocolate dome brûlée the best. light creamy chocolaty decadence. Nuf said.

This used to be the bakery I’d run to for a box of pastries when I’d be craving cakes to have with my coffee or when I was having guests come over. Recently I went in around 6:30pm on a Thursday night and was disappointed to see that half the stuff are gone. The baker comes at night so I was a little understanding on that. I got a box of Napolean, Chocolate Dipped Canolis, White Cake with Bavarian cream, Crème Brulees. Napolean: it was good! Chocolate Dipped Cannoli: felt like I was biting through rubber. White Cake with Bavarian cream: cake was dry, seemed like it was sitting there for a day or 2 Crème Brulee: I have to say I was most disappointed on this one. It tasted old and awful! I don’t know what changed Aux Delices, but you are going the wrong direction. I really was disappointed.

Aux is perfect for when you just want a chocolate croissant before you start your opening shift! Service is always super friendly, and it has a very chill atmosphere. LOVE that it has lots of other stuff other than croissants — I’ve gotten tarts, and bagels, and even crepes here, but my favorite go to is pain du chocolat!!!

The raspberry chocolate truffle is delicious! The top layer of raspberry spread is sweet and a little tart; it goes great with the smooth chocolate mousse. I wish the bottom layer of the chocolate cake could be a bit more moist; it was crumbling into pieces. I would definitely come back to try their cheesecakes and tiramisu!

Quite the charming little French café on the busy streets of Colorado Blvd. I’ve got a soft spot for the window seating if the outdoor table is unavailable, and this little café has always been so ideal for quiet coffee chats amongst a friend or a date. The name of the café drew me in instantly along with the dreamy Tiffany blue walls, white and black patterned floors, sweetest array of cakes on display, and fresh French baguettes sold in a traditional woven basket. The extra little touches of the ambiance always does the trick in my book. Try the heart shaped Linzer cookie, it’s hardly ever a disappointment. Although be aware that there is a $ 5 note minimum for all credit card use!

Small café in Old Town Pasadena. ½ sandwich, soup, salad(9.25) I got the baked chicken breast, and I thought I could make a better sandwich at home. The soup and pasta salad were okay too. Caesar Salad(7.00) I thought their caesar salad was pretty delicious. Love the dressing and lots of chicken! It’s not your typical caesar salad because they add peppers and make their own garlic croutons. Crème Brulee(2.45) No caramelized top like a crème brûlée is supposed to have. Digging into the crème brûlée, it reminded me of a flan more than anything. But I actually preferred this texture since I’m not a big fan of crème brûlée. The waiters are super sweet and service was more than welcoming.

Another date night that my wife and I were trying to figure out what to do, where to go, and this… This is one of our favorite spots in Pasadena. The location is great, the food, mainly deserts, are delicious and their coffee tastes fantastic. I love how they have one table outside, that’s OUR table!!! Lol So we came by and we actually got to meet the owner. She was as kind and sweet as the deserts she makes. She was extremely down to earth and was a sweetheart. Now I know why this business is always doing well and has such good service and good food. I honestly have tried their food or breakfast other than a bagel and cream cheese, which is delicious, but I know their coffee, mocha, and deserts are freakin delicious!!! I would totally recommend coming here! You should not be disappointed… If you are, I question your taste…

My wife and I were looking for a place near our neighborhood for brunch. Now look… believe me when I say that I enjoy a cheap brunch just as much as the next person. But what hell(I hope I’m allowed to say that on Unilocal) is up with all these people saying that this place is «expensive» and docking stars for this supposed observation? If you think 4 dollars for a huge, homemade, and fresh turkey and cheese croissant is expense… what the hell are you doing in old town Pasadena? Seriously, if im expecting a cheap meal I’m going to Panda Express or Chipotle. I’m certainly not going to one of the top ten or so most expensive neighborhoods to live in Los Angeles county and then complaining about a friggin 4 dollar croissant… come on now… let’s be reasonable here. Anyways…we’ve wanted to try this place for a while but just never gotten around to it. We shared the breakfast crêpe, turkey and cheese croissant, and the Napoleon. To drink we had two iced caramel lattes. The savory dishes were just okay, three stars I would say. This isn’t to say that it was bad, just not four-star worthy. The Napoleon was amazing. And from what I can gather, thier sweets and pasteries are better than thier savory dishes, just FYI. Finally, the coffee was quite good although not the best I had. Not too sweet and you can really taste the espresso. So overall: savory dishes = 3.0; sweet dishes/pasteries = 5.0; coffee = 4.0

Expensive for not the best stuff. Seriously, two sandwiches for lunch are over $ 20? That is crazy. I got the turkey panini and my fiancé got the turkey, bacon, avocado business on a croissant. My panini was more bread than anything else and was mostly flavorless. I had mustard at home– so good to go! My fiancé’s was just an overpriced blob of meat and carbs with little flavor. Moreover, it took 10 minutes for them to make these gems. I’ll pass.

I’ve only gotten items to-go here during my lunch breaks at work so my experience there is one-sided, but they have great pastries and I LOVED my chicken caesar salad from there! It had the classic dressing you would find on any other chicken caesar salad but also included nicely toasted croutons, roasted vegetables and warm chicken to top it off. I’m also a fan of their cheese croissants, they do a nice blend of american and swiss.

It is a good change of pace from the rest of old town. Walking in this quaint little café, after dinner and shopping, time seemed to slow to a crawl. Maybe it was the simple yet charming décor or the family-own vibe(which is always a plus in my book), whatever it was, it left a good impression on me. We had the tiramisu, cup of latte and strawberry and chocolate crêpe. all were delish. Service was good and accommodating as well. This place just became part of my pasadena go to shops, especially when in the old town area.

Very cute café: great espresso, good bagels, as well as a quaint and pleasant set-up. I love the color of the walls. More on this after return visits.
