Came to this restaurant for a medical seminar. I ordered the prime rib medium rare. It was prepared to perfection, the meat was favorful and tender. They serve the side dishes community style which consisted of creamed spinach, roasted corn, mashed potatoes and broccoli. I loved that you can get as much or as little as you want. There was more than enough food. The dessert was Apple Pie which I took home. It was a cute small pie for one which was also delicious.

So here it is one year later on my birthday and a good friend of mine’s birthday. We decided to go to the Arroyo chop house again because we had such a great experience last year. This year our waitress, her name was Kerry. She exceeded all expectations and was just absolutely delightful to have as our waitress. She was very helpful, made sure our drinks were full, continued to check on us. I can see why she’s been there so long. Thank you Kerry! You were great! Now, this year we noticed that they had another item on the menu… Wagyu. at first I was skeptical because the price of the steaks are considerably more then the absolute wonderful aged steaks they already have that we experienced last year. I asked my waitress if it was worth it to go ahead and get the Wagyu new york strip and she said with no hesitation,“Absolutely”. She explained why it was so much better. That the fine layers of fat content that is virtually untraceable makes for a a more buttery, tender piece of beef that we have ever tried. My wife had the filet as always and our dear friends that dined with us had what I ate last year… the 41 day aged New York strip. I said to Kerry,” look, we are going to have one of each strip on this table and will do a taste test between the American beef and Wagyu. We will tell a difference?” Ok. Fast forward, the appetizers. The scallops and BBQ shrimp were to die for. The scallops melted in your mouth like butter and no fishy flavor. Bravo. Fast forward to the entrees. Wooow!!! How amazed I was. The Wagyu is the absolute, hands down, the best steak I ever had in my life. I didn’t even want to use the sauces they bring to the table because it would steal away the flavor of my Wagyu. I can’t even say enough about this place. And I’ve been to my share of fine dining. I go to different 5 stars about 5 – 6 times a year. Arroyo, you are my favorite yet. Jalapeño corn soufflé, and Black truffle Mac n cheese! Are you kidding me!!!

CHEESE&RICETHISPLACEISMAGNIFICENT. I came for DineLA with my old roomie and it was the perfect date night/girls night out! The dineLA wasnt exactly cheap($ 49) But i got a good taste of their appetizer, dessert and a delicious slab of filet mignon. I have to say this is probably the best filet mignon I’ve had since 1990(yes since I was born). I ordered the petite filet mignon medium rare with a add on of foie gras(additional $ 15) This was by far the best foie gras I’ve had in my life as well. Thinking about it makes my mouth water. It’s buttery smokey flavor absorbed with the juicy medium rare steak topped with some peppercorn sauce. What a party in my mouth(: To top it off, I commended the waitress for their housemade strawberry purée that they used on their cheesecake, and the waitress brought me a whole take home cup of it! The restroom is another highlight– what other restaurant would offer you mini cups of listerine to rinse out your mouth?! This place is perfect ! I gotta start taking more people here. Valet also FREE! Just be sure to tip the guys freezing outside. I left feeling absolutely stuffed and happy. A way to my heart is through my stomach with this one.

Been a fan of the Chop House for years and just went back again this weekend. Can cuts of beef get any better than this? If they can, I haven’t had them. The sides of vegetables were amazing and complimented the steak perfectly. You could tell thought was given to the entire menu. Kudos! Service was spot on perfect, helpful without being overbearing. Sure the Chop House is pricey, but it is so worth it. If you swing it during Dine LA, do it!!!

A good steakhouse is very important especially when your boyfriend lives for a good steak. We came to Arroyo for their Dine LA and it really is a great deal for how much food you’re getting. Their FILETMIGNON is really on point and the quality was just lovely. I’ll definitely be a return customer to try more of their dishes. ENJOY! Valet is complimentary. Just valet your fellow valet attendant.

How is it that you charge these kinds of prices yet not deliver great food? FOODQUALITY: While the oysters on the half shell come on a bed of ice, the oysters themselves aren’t exactly icey cold like how fresh oysters are served up in most places in Seattle. They kind of left a kind of «meh» taste because they weren’t really refreshing to the palate. Top that off that they were many scattered shell pieces on the oyster. they just didn’t clean it well enough. Lobster tail was either day old or frozen, it had the sort of rubberiness that fresh lobster wouldn’t have. and tasted pretty bland While the seasoning on the fillet was decent, but I didn’t really like how it was cooked(or the meat itself) because it came out to be slightly stringy. I was looking more for that«melt in your mouth» texture that you’d find at places like Mastro’s. SERVICE: Service was really the only saving grace, with the exception that bread wasn’t free and we were charged $ 5 for it. $ 5 for bread. At least it was really good bread. ENVIRONMENT: Even though it was a dim lit restaurant, the environment felt pretty loud and rushed so it wasn’t as relaxing as I would have imagined the place would be. It’s pretty clean and spacious, at the least. Overall, I don’t think I’d come back again for the price point and food quality given.

I have become hesitant in writing 5 star reviews, sometimes I go back and I’m like eh, what was I thinking. I’ve been here twice now… once in this dining room off to the side and once in the main dining room. The off to the side room seemed more… stuffy? I preferred the larger dining room. In any case, had the filet here, I cannot recall if it was wagyu or not. But. And maybe it varies by night or week or month and their supply, but the filet I had was possibly the best, that I’ve had. I’m trying to refrain from statements like that, but, it was in fact the case. Melt in your mouth tenderness. You hear people say that, But frankly I haven’t had that experience recently at the Ruth Chris’, Flemings, Mortons, etc of the world. They’re good but, this was great. I dont really remember anything else I ate, I mean, I could force myself to recall but, it didn’t matter. The steak was THAT good. Seriously. This reset the standard for me. I had similar quality once before at strip steak in vegas at Mandalay Bay, but on a second visit that didn’t live up to it. Next up, Maastro’s.

What can I say one of my favorite restaurants in the Pasadena area. With some of the most amazing waiters(sit in Chendo’s section of you have a chance he makes for a very enjoyable night). We tend to have our large family gatherings here approximately party of 12 or so. Our food is always brought out together, cooked to order, and delicious. Arroyo Chop house will continue to be one of our go to restaurants.

Came here to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday. Very romantic setting. Dim lights. Not too much noise. Parking can be found on the street(watch for restrictions!) Or you can have the valet park for you. Or do what must be the most hilarious thing I’ve ever seen: park yourself and pay for valet anyway. Made a reservation in advance and made a little note that it was my bfs birthday in the special request section online. They were nice enough to leave a little letter on the table thanking us for celebrating a special occasion with them. Being huge fatties… I mean foodies… we opted for the 2lb porterhouse for 2, creamed spinach, and shoestring fries. Holy moly were we surprised. Porterhouse: DELICIOUS. best steak ever. Comes with 3 sauces that I can’t remember the name of but they’re all delicious! Creamed spinach: nothing really to write home about but delicious nonetheless. Shoestring fries: holy potato. We didn’t expect the fries to be such a huge portion. It came out as a mountain on a plate. So delicious that I dream about it from time to time. They also gave my bf a complimentary bday cupcake. Was too sweet for the both of us so we only had a few bites. Overall, best dinner I’ve had in a while. Definitely would come again for another occasion.

One of my favorite restaurants to celebrate a special occasion. My family and I love to dine here and share appetizers and tastes of entrees. Decorated really nice during the christmas, love the lights. Ambience is lovely, as well was the amazing wine selection. I definitely recommend starting with the garlic bread, its $ 8, but come on we are at arroyo chop house! Absolutely delicious. Next off, the barbecue shrimp salad and the pancetta wrapped scallops. We shared it amongst 4. Cannot complain as it’s probably my favorite salad in the world. The pancetta wrapped scallops had a delicious sauce but the scallops were a little tiny(4 pieces). Entrees, we got the lamb chops, ribeye, and tomahawk steak. All were amazing, it was my first time trying the tomahawk steak. The tomahawk’s bone was huge! My family and I were debating on how they would fit in a box to take it for leftovers as we couldn’t finish it.(turns out they wrap it in a foil) Dessert, you can’t miss this, the grand marnier soufflé. It’s to die for and one of primary reasons I love Arroyo Chop House. Service was amazing, food was amazing, night was amazing. Parking is valet, Corkage fee is $ 30 per bottle. Can be pricey but this it’s an experience you’ll love.

The steaks are good and I would come back for that but I didn’t think the sides were all that special. Atmosphere is nice, live piano music and a full bar. Service is good, what you’d come to expect from a nice place like this but I only really enjoyed the main course and not so much the sides or the appetizer we got. Scallops wrapped with Pancetta– 2⁄5. Scallops are small and is served in a tangy sweet sauce almost like. orange chicken. I believe most seafood work best when you let the natural seafood flavors come through, definitely not with a sweet tangy sauce. Seared Foie Gras– Only slightly seared on the top and bottom and completely raw inside. If you aren’t a fan of raw foie gras, then I’d stay away from this dish. The texture takes some getting used to. I’m personally not a fan of it. Jalapeo-Corn Soufflé– 3⁄5. First few bites are good, but pretty soon the dish comes too heavy and rich. It’s not too special, tastes like baked cream corn. Doesn’t have strong jalapeño flavors. Lyonnaise Potatoes– 3⁄5. Nice hearty flavor, but nothing special. Stir fried with bacon. Lobster Mashed Potatoes– 3⁄5. I didn’t enjoy the texture much, it was too whipped I think and caused it not to be creamy and rich anymore. It almost is like sweet potato and not regular potatoes. The lobster pieces are small pieces on top that were not too special. The steaks are good though, the rib eye is a little on the fattening side but flavors are great. Petit Filet is big for a filet and the 40 day aged New York was great. All quite large portions. Crème Brulee– 5⁄5. The raspberries are mixed in the crème brûlée and paired perfectly together. The crème is not as thick as some places which makes it fresh and inviting and perfect amount of sweetness. Would be back for the steaks and dessert and maybe try the green sides instead?

After 5 years I finally came back to Arroyo, this time for our company holiday dinner! we had a table of 20 so they are definitely able to accommodate large parties all you need to know is Ribeye & Grand Marnier Soufflé! —half garlic bread/half sourdough bread: sourdough bread is complimentary but we paid extra for the half garlic bread, which was worth it! nice & crusty —ribeye: SOGOOD, i ordered it medium rare and although it was served between rare and medium rare, i was so glad they made this mistake! i’ve never had a steak so rare but it was delicious! —caramelized sweet corn: the side dish i enjoyed the most this night! —lobster mashed potatoes: a bit salty —truffle mac & cheese: i could pass on this, not the best truffle mac i’ve had —sugar snap peas: a nice contrast to all the carbs and protein! —green beans: cant go wrong with green beans! —sauteed mushrooms: standard —GRANDMARNIERSOUFFLE: you must order it in advance, and you should because it is worth every calorie! so moist and decadent! —chocolate soufflé: no where near as yummy as the grand marnier, kind of dry since it doesn’t have a sauce component —chocolate pecan pie: WAY too sweet but a nice buttery crust & i enjoyed the ice cream on top! i guess next time i should try the Wagyu Ribeye to see how it compares! NOTE: free valet parking & mouth wash in the bathroom

I can eat their mint jelly and die a happy human being. The one thing that I remember from my first experience a few years ago was how incredible their mint jelly was, and I thought about it for years until I finally decided that enough was enough. I had to have it again. As cliché as it sounds, it was even more amazing than I had remembered it the first time. What is this mint jelly, and where can you find it on the menu, you ask? It’s not on the menu. In fact, it’s just a sauce that goes with their delicious lamb chops. I’m not even kidding. I reminisced this for years and there was not a droplet of disappointment in my blood on the first bite. The Porterhouse was just as delicious. Try it with and without the paired sauces. Tastes great either which way. I normally don’t like Bleu Cheese, but they did it just right. Service was great, everyone was courteous and friendly. No parking lot, but they do have complimentary valet! I recommend making reservations. Weekends are usually very tough, but you can still try your luck with walk ins.

I love a good steak — and this place has some of the best. I usually go for the cowboy ribeye, but there is so much to try. The porterhouse for two is great for date night. The sides are spectacular — particularly the corn dish with jalapeño. I also love having a Caesar salad made table side; they use pasteurized eggs to make the dressing from scratch. And don’t forget to order a soufflé at the beginning of your meal. I love the décor here. California craftsman meets classic steak house. It’s a wonderful place to sip a classic cocktail — which they make very well. The wait staff is friendly and attentive. Sometimes they have live music — a piano player. Parking is valet. I have celebrated my last few birthdays here — and once or twice they have given me a few flowers! It never disappoints, even when we are not there for a special occasion.

A nice neighborhood gem for steak, but I didn’t find it as spectacular as other more well-known steakhouses(I’d still prefer Mastro’s). We shared a variety of dishes including the ribeye and the wagyu NY strip. Both were good. The creamed corn, sautéed spinach, and lobster mashed potatoes(a steal at $ 12) were all good, but I think it’d be hard to go wrong with them. I did like the side of roasted carrots that came with the steak; I thought that was a nice touch. Service was great and the décor is elegant in a way that is suitable for all kinds of occasions. I don’t know, maybe my expectations were high, but I just felt like it was a fancier neighborhood steakhouse and not a go-out-of-your-way destination. It’s not cheap, and I didn’t leave feeling like WOW, I have to return.

Fine establishment like yourself shouldn’t even even have the consideration of a 1 star rating. The fact of the matter was that Arroyo Chop House failed miserably and since there were so many mistakes that led to such a terrible rating I will just number it: 1. We called to make reservation on Friday for Saturday birthday group and the hostess mistaken it for that VERYSAME Friday for a 9:30pm dinner time. In retrospect the problem might of started from there… a) we could of had an earlier dinner time b) the waiters and waitresses wouldn’t have to feel so rush to get us out of there. 2. The waitress didn’t warn us that there was a extra fee for Garlic bread, as breads are typically free so a fair warning as NEWBIES should of been done. 3. The french fries brought out was cold. 4. They mixed up royally between the Porterhouse Chop and the Rib, and they were VERY adamant about it being what it was… for a fine establishment such as this, this type of mistake should NEVER have happened. Just imagined someone cutting into your piece of meat?! I mean its a good thing us girls were close friends… otherwise man o man! 5. When we were packing things to go, the waiters and staff handed us dirty boxes with grease stains on them. This happened to at least 3 people in our table. 6. In a party of 15, we understand how it may be difficult with the check but the waitress didn’t even figure out a way to separate the checks or figure out what meal belong to whom in which case we spent an extra 40 minutes figuring out just on the bill. We ended up leaving this FINE establishment at almost 1am, being the very last group out!

Arroyo Chop House is a must if you’re looking for an outstanding steakhouse in the San Gabriel Valley. When you pull up to the parking lot, you only have the option to valet your car(complimentary) or self park on the street. The ambiance inside the restaurant is traditional, yet classy. There’s a bar area, with TV’s mounted to the wall. The service is always impeccable! My ABSOLUTE favorite thing here is the barbecue shrimp salad. There is no other restaurant that makes a shrimp salad THIS good. MUSTGET. My usual is always the ribeye. it has a great flavor by itself. But, Arroyo will give three different steak sauces along with your steak. You really can’t leave the restaurant without having dessert. The chocolate soufflé is so delicious, as its served hot and fresh out of the oven. You will not be disappointed when dining here. 5 stars all around!

My husband made a reservation here for our 1 year wedding anniversary and they made us feel so special. We had one of their spacious table suites against the back wall overlooking the restaurant. There were orchids on the table for us– what a nice touch. I started off with the Ginger Smash cocktail– that’s exactly the kind of cocktail I like… handcrafted, fresh ingredients with a nice punch. It was perfect! Our server(Mark or Brian… can’t remember) was outstanding! Super on point… you can tell he is a seasoned pro. We ordered the ½ and ½ garlic/sourdough bread. They give you sourdough bread complimentary but we decided to upgrade to try the garlic one… I actually preferred the plain… huz liked the garlic… I guess that’s why they have ½ and ½…there you go! We ordered so much food I can hardly remember now. For sides we got the truffle mac and cheese which had a nice flavor to it. Huz always has to have potatoes with his steak so we got the garlic mash potatoes too– carb overload! We also got some brussels sprouts to balance things out. I got the filet which was heaven… so so soooo perfect– just melt in your mouth deliciousness. I ordered a glass of cab which was a nice pairing. Huz loved his cowboy steak… everything was just perfect. We finished with the butterscotch pudding which was very very rich… I love sweets but it was too sweet even for me… we still ate it though. lol! We love our food :)
