As a restaurant owner customer service is very important. My experience with a group of co-workers of 15 was not pleasant. We called ahead of time and made a reservation with them not being prepared. We ask for bread 3xs, no refill on bread or ask if we wanted more bread or refill on drinks. In addition, we waited for our food for over an hour The female waitress is not friendly. I think you are really understaff with one waitress during lunch. In the future, please make sure your service improves or hired more staff. You receive a 1 star because food is good!

The service and seating are wonderful at this little Argentinian place on Colorado Blvd. The food, while it was decent, wasn’t stellar. The chimichurri was rather bland and the steak(rib eye) was not great. It was a fairly sinewy piece of meat that had lackluster flavor despite my addition of the gorgonzola sauce. My friend had the chicken ojo and that was ok. Nothing stood out for us. We were expecting something more… tasty? I don’t know but we may give it another shot. The staff was nice and accomodating.

Not bad not great. $ 15 Corkage seems a bit high. Empanadas were fine — but not mind blowing. Malbec is much better for this type of fare.

Walking out of 1810, husband said,“We should have gotten hot dogs at 7Eleven.” Ouch. Sadly, I whole-heartedly agreed to his sarcasm. We found this place on Unilocal because we wanted to get a quick bite in Pasadena Old Town before heading to our movie. We thought we would give Argentinean restaurant a try. Before I begin my rant on 1810, I’ve visited Argentina and was there long enough to understand their food. Besides steak, I’ve lived off of empanadas, chunchullos(small intestines) and morcilla(blood sausage). I know what I am talking about. At 1810…(sigh) the beef empanada was yuck. I just had one bite of the meat and could not go on. The beef looked weird and tasted weird. The color and the way it looked reminded me of my dog’s can food. Before ordering both beef and chicken, I asked the waitress which is better. She said both are good. [BUZZERSOUND!!!] chicken is just whatevers but it is incomparably better than the beef. The chorizo was whatevers. The morcilla tasted weird. I didn’t understand the texture and what exactly was stuffed in it. Our lunch became slightly borderline depressing. The workers serving on the floor and those in the bar seemed indifferent to their job and the whole vibe of the restaurant felt like they are solely relying on Old Town Pasadena’s foot traffic. They seriously need to step up. I don’t understand the high reviews for this place. Side note: The bathroom was disgusting After my husband made that funny but oh so sad comment, on our way back to our car and to the movie, we passed by so many mediocre restaurants and thought, anything else would have been better. Epic Fail.

Love love this place! Food is always good! Their Parrillada de Carnes is the best! Their mollajas are to die for! Great wine list and always friendly service! Also the 50%off wine bottles on Tuesdays is always a good deal! Again, love love 1810!

I think a lot about this meal could have been better. However, that doesn’t mean there were some great things! The complimentary bread and chimichurri sauce was fabulous. We ordered two empanadas– the spinach and cheese and the beef. They were both tasty and not too heavy. To split between three people, we ordered the big steak platter that had a few different cuts of steak(I’m blanking on what the actual name of the dish was) and for the main event it was just alright. The meat was overall pretty chewy and fatty and could have been more flavorful. I used the leftover chimichurri from the bread to put on the steak and that definitely helped it a bit. Also, the wine selection was pretty nice and we loved the bottle we got for our table– in addition, and this is kind of a silly add-on, the glassware was so nice that I figured it’s worth mentioning. Lastly, our server was very attentive and patient with our indecisive asses– so we appreciated that!

First of all I was born in Argentina and live in the US all my life. My mother and father always made the best home cooked Argentinian cuisine and I’ve been a fan of the food all my life. I was super excited to go to this restaurant and expect beautiful memories to come back to life. Well the case was not so! The chicken empanadas tasted like fish I had to gag it out of my mouth into a napkin. After tasting This I immediately felt as if it was sitting in a freezer for way over a month and then serve to husband and I. As of right now my stomach feels as its ready to vomit. I sincerely hope this was not spoiled chicken this so called restaurant served me. After that I said ok let’s give the main course a try and the Milanesa was tasteless and just to plain. Do not think it’s what it’s suppose to taste like. I ordered the prefix menu with some adjustment(with extra charge, of course) and with that came a flan with dulce de leche, well by that time I received it I did not even want to taste it, so I wrap it up to take home in doing so I see it’s a very small piece of ugly looking flan. I looked at it but did not question it. I was so disgusted by the whole experience I just wanted out of there. So on our my way out I see a table of patrons on the patio eating a flan, well let me tell you it was huge five times bigger than the one I just wrapped up. I peddleback and proceded to speak to the gm(I assumed he was since he was barking orders to the wait staff all the time) and two other people on his staff. I asked them about the size of the flan on why mine was so tiny and he said that’s the prefix menu size and I told him that’s unacceptable if you do not place that in writing on the menu. I also asked him why did they serve the chicken empanadas that tasted like fish and he said I tasted it and it tasted fine, no apologies and for sure no care of my complaint at all. They were super rude and arrogant, my feelings is that after my complaint of the fishy chicken empanada they just wanted us out of there and could care less if we were ok with the food or service. This being said I’ve been a business owner with heavy customer service traffic and the words«we are sorry» goes a long way, not at this establishment all we got was here’s your bill pay and get out attitude. After visiting over 600 restaurants I have to say this place is on the top five of worst food and service and that’s a double whammy. When I left I felt I dissapionted my husband and I had such an awful experience. And I thought I should’ve refused to pay the bill but we paid it. Please do not visit this establishment you will regret it and it’s not authentic too top it off.

They have a great pre-fixe menu here! for $ 28, you can get an appetizer, an entrée and a dessert. I opted for the empanada(beef), the Entrana due to its popularity on Unilocal, and the flan of course, because I love flan. The empanada was nothing too special. My boyfriend got the croquettes which are much more of a wow factor for me. The skirt steak(Entrana) is a must get!!! So good and tender. I prefer mines medium rare. And the flan was great! Like the dulce de leche flavor of it too! The restaurant is smaller than I had imagined and much more casual than I expected. Parking is by street and can be hard to find on that side of Colorado. Bring your coins!

1810 is a cozy restaurant with romantic décor. We came during dinner time and the restaurant was practically empty. The server was nice but seemed rushed because she was the only one running around and helping out. We also got our bread really late… I got the rib eye with fries and my bf got the skirt steak. We both tried each other’s dishes and we both thought they were okay. It was nothing extraordinary, however, we really enjoyed the chicken empanadas! It was flavorful and juicy! Perfect texture and crunch. The beef empanada on the other hand, wasn’t as flavorful and great as the chicken one. Overall, I’d come back if I wanted chicken empanadas!

I ordered off the pre fixe menu which was fairly priced and very filling. I had the croquettes with tomato sauce, the entrana(grilled skirt steak), and the mouth watering flan con de leche. I loved their grilled skirt steak, it was cooked to perfection. I am very impressed with this restaurant!

12. o3.15 Don’t get me wrong but I really liked the food and I understand why most of the Unilocalers gave a 4 or 5 stars. I don’t know how people grades a restaurant but mine includes customer service. And on this past Thursday night, service could have been way better on such a slow night. We had a reservation at 8pm but we arrived around 8:20pm. Well, it didn’t seem to matter and we didn’t bother to tell them we had a reservation because there were only 3 or 4 tables of customers, that all got their food already. Three of us got the Prix fixe menu while one of my friends got a arugula salad. The arugula salad was very good and I liked the presentation as well. All of the appetizers were yummy. All three of us got the skirt steak because after all, that’s what people are waving at the most. I got medium rare with fries, a friend got medium with fries, another friend got medium with mashed potatoes. When I got my order, that piece steak looked well done to me. It looked dry and so thin like there was no more juice left inside. So I told him I got medium rare, how come my friend’s order still has blood coming out for a medium while mine is like a piece of jerky? So then he said he got our orders mixed up. Instead of fries, mine order was paired with mashed potatoes. I told my friend that his order looked like well done to me because we tasted it, it was very dry. But he didn’t bother asking them to make him a new one. Order it at medium rare was very tasty. Then the dessert selections were flan and ice cream. He told me there was mango ice cream. So ok I’ll take that. Just right before he needed to bring out the dessert, he told me they actually don’t have mango flavor. Oh kay… but whatever, I was just as happy with vanilla. The not so happy part. As you already know, our orders got mixed up which already got me speechless because our table was the only one that had to order at the time. Not only that, but he spilled my water… He didn’t even bother to say sorry or ask someone to clean it up and get me a new napkin. Another speechless moment. Well, at least one of waiters saw it a while after and came to wipe the table for me. What a night… Esp my friends made me waited 27 mins in the cold for them to pick me up. Arrgghhh -.-

The close alternative to great steaks. Granted it is pricy but nothing like BOA or Mastros or anything like that. You will get your large portion of juicy steak but at a 25% less than the major steakhouses.(of course the quality may not be the same but close enough) Came as a group of 8 – 10 in Saturday Night 8pm. There was no point in making reservations since they didn’t accomodate us until 30 minutes past the reservation time. Next time, I will take my sweet time. Bread for the table, soft but boring. The chimichurri(i am guessing) because it didn’t taste like it, was not great. I got the Prix Fixe $ 31 with the Croquetas de Arroz(risotto croquettes), Entraña(Skirt steak) and Flan. All three courses were excellent, especially the entraña. About 4 of us ordered this and it was the absolute moistest, juciest and most tender cut of meat of all of them. It was under seasoned but i rather it be that way that overly salty. So it worked for me! Risotto croquettes(the rice balls in the picture) were actually nicely crunchy outside, soft and cheese inside laying on a pool of marinara. The flan was different from what i am used to eating and making, very vanilla, very creamy yet dense. It was very good. The others ordered Parrilla Mixta $ 56 and Parrila de Carne $ 65(two huge dishes for 4 people and it was too much even though 3 were men). The chicken was too dry, i guess nobody orders it and stayed sitting too long. We brought this up tot the waitress and she gave us 2 free beers for that. Granted, our bill was over the roof already. GOEASY on the parrillas especially if you are getting the appetizers. The rest of the cuts(NY and short rib were just good, i think the entrana was just too tender for me to care about anything else. For the price of the Parrillas, the overall quality wasn’t worth it. App #1: Empanadas were good, but not great. I have had better(even Tito’s Market in El Monte makes better Arg empanadas for half the price) but if you must, try them, and if you must must, i liked the spinach and cheese one, not the beef one. $ 3 each App #2: I love blood sausages in general(Morcilla) but theirs was just okay, nicely cripsy casing, but maybe not irony enough for me. My friend loved these(and we are both from Venezuela so we know our blood sausage) so it is highly subjective. $ 6 App #3: Risotto Croquettes, these were the best of the apps. $ 7(or get it with the Prix Fixe, comes with 2 of them) Sides, the mashed potatoes were delicious, the salad was very generic but okay. Rice was fine. None stood out. The thing to remember is, GETTHE Entraña!(SKIRTSTEAK) because no matter if you ordered medium rare(me) or well done(friend who is pregnant), it stayed juicy and tender. You will likely have to add salt and chimichurri to it, but that’s preference. Had a cake from Paris Baguette, we were provided the means for serving at no additional cost. For the girls, we got a bottle of Kaiken Ultra $ 49 Malbec. Delicious but I expected a more memorable malbec for the price. They do have a $ 15 corkage fee, next time i will do that. Parking difficult on weekends, go to the Lots first 90 minutes free then $ 2 each hour. Max $ 6.

Hubby brought me here for a monthaversary, yes we celebrate monthaversaries :)so happy he found this place. It’s hard find good Argentinean food in LA so this was a good find. The empanadas are so yummy, especially the beef! They have such a good ambience especially for date night. We had dinner and a few glasses of wine and we had such a great time here. I ordered the entraña which is the 10oz skirt steak. Staff was also really nice here.

I had a great lunch here. The interior is very«Old Town Pasadena» with brick walls(accented with Argentinian pictures) and dark wood furnishings. There are few outdoor tables along the sidewalk but, it being a hot day, I ate indoors. I ordered off the lunch menu and chose the 3 empanada meal. They had several choices of fillings and I picked three different types: beef, ham & cheese and(a special for that day) gruyère and tomato. The empanadas come with either soup or salad and I decided on salad. While I waited for my lunch a plate of fresh, soft bread with a delicious chimichurri sauce was delivered to keep my tummy from rumbling. The salad was quickly brought to me and it was rather dull; just a pile of mixed greens with a couple of tiny tomato slices. Served on a wooden board, the empanadas were a joy to consume. The pastry on these were the best part although they were so light and flakey that every bite caused a shower of pastry flakes to sprinkle on the table. They should have provided a mini-broom for me to sweep up after myself. The beef was good but a bit plain which I remedied by adding some of the accompanying salsa. The ham and cheese was great and tasted just as you’d expect. The gruyère was strong in flavor, which I loved, and provided a gooey-cheesy taste experience. The food and atmosphere were quite enjoyable and, although it is quite a distance from where I live, I imagine I’ll be back again sometime for a steak.

Very good food(with a couple minor gripes) and friendly, attentive service. Pros: + The sauteed mushroom appetizer is fantastic, and comes in a hot cast iron pan to keep your mushrooms hot a long time. The mushrooms are bathed in an intense and bright white wine garlic butter sauce which is good with just about everything(bread, steak, etc). + The free bread with the parsley/olive oil garlic spread is very good. + The servers were knowledgeable about everything we asked about on the menu. + The flank steak salad was good, and had plenty of meat. + The soup of the day(potato leek, blended) was interesting and light, almost like a light pea soup. Cons: — The broccoli aioli(garlic/olive oil) was not very flavorful, and came out overcooked and falling apart. — The citrus chicken breast had a perfect texture but lacked flavor — I expected more citrus flavor. — The flank steak on the steak salad seemed a bit overcooked, but still had good flavor and was not too tough. We will definitely be back, and may put the sauteed mushroom sauce on everything.

Great attentive service! They brought out dessert for my friends birthday. Love the atmosphere, well decorated. The spinach and cheese empanada was delicious warm and tasty. It went very well with the fresh sangria we ordered. I had the Milanese neopolitan and it was a fried steak with ham and cheese. It tasted so good but it can fill you up fast so I say it can be split by two people. Overall a fun experience!

When I think Argentinian food, I think of delicious empanadas, amazing chimichurri and mouth watering steaks. 1810 delivers exceptionally well in all these areas! Located on Colorado Blvd. in Pasadena, this gem has some great food for great prices. Wifey ordered their mushroom skillet and I ordered their 3 item combo: appetizer– empanada, entrée –skirt steak with mashed potatoes, dessert– caramel flan. All of the food was delivered with a huge smile rather quickly to our table. The taste of all the items had me speaking Spanish… and not the curse words either. The spinach and cheese empanada mixed with the chimichurri sauce was delish(I love to drown my food in chimichurri). Nice and cheesy with a nice outside crust. The steak cut like butter and had great flavor. Cooked perfectly, it had a lot of juices and flavor from the char grill. I reached over and had some of the wifey’s mushrooms and they had a ton of great flavor from the garlic and vinegar. My flan was also really good with great texture and sweetness from the caramel. As with any Argentinian dish, I also had a glass of Malbec which complimented the meal perfectly. Overall ratings: Food– 5 stars Service — 4 stars Value– 4 stars Go get yo Spanglish on! Cheers!

This is a very nice restaurant. As soon as you walk in you can feel the nice environment. I shared the Parrillada mix, it was delicious. I chose the mashed potatoes and salad as the sides. I love the mashed potatoes. As an appetizer we got the the little fried balls of cheese in marinara sauce. So good but the portions kind of sucked. Overall the food was great. Their flan is super yummy and they have absolutely the best service there. I went on a Saturday night and they were absolutely on it.
