There’s not a lot of Indian groceries in New York City, but it’s not like I would trek out to Parsippany for this grocery. But if you’re in the area(or going to Chand Palace, the veggie Indian buffet like I was), then it’s a good place to make a stop. They have a lot of different veggies and fruits for cheap and a lot of snacks! I love puffed rice so I picked up a bag for $ 2. I’m eating it as we speak… They don’t sell frozen meat or have a meat counter, although they do sell products with meat(TV dinner chicken tikka masala for $ 3?!). A good variety of naan and rice, some household products, and many products straight from India. Wonderful!

Was wondering around, found this store, went in on a whim.(Curiosity and whim gets the best of me). Apart from the place being rather dingy, I saw some vegetables fall on the floor and I saw a thin guy put them back,. Turns out he was the manager! EEK!

From the street you wouldn’t know that there was an Indian grocery store tucked in this small strip mall plaza. The veggies seem to be rather inexpensive, and each aisle is clearly organized. I got some Soan Papdi Indian sweets — super sugary, but very yummy, and very convenient. There isn’t much space for checkout lines, so things can seem somewhat congested near the registers.

This is one of our Indian grocery stores that we shop at a few times a month, good for frozen entrees, dry lentils, flours, snacks and Desi Dahi Plain Yogurt. I also have to commend the ladies behind the registers. They check out your stuff so quickly.

We love this store. We are not Indian but love Indian food and I learn how to cook like real Indian woman. We shop there very often, you can find there anything you want if you have some Indian dinner in mind. Stuff is very helpful if you have questions and so are Indian ladies who shop there.

This place is very bright and clean. It has lots of from India brands as well as US marketed packaged Indian products. The fresh vegetable section is very extensive and the prices are very good.

Subzi Mandi has recently expanded/renovated and it’s about twice the size it used to be. Now it’s more along the lines of Patel Brothers down the road further on 46. They have a new huge frozen food section(mostly Indian pre-prepared foods) and a nice selection of fresh, very inexpensive produce. I come here for this, spice blends, sacks of basmati rice, paneer, daal, lassi, naan, and their homemade samosas. They don’t sell any meats(I believe the owners are Sikhs). If you like to cook Indian food at home, this is a great place to go.

Very busy Indian grocery store, and can be crowded. Can’t say much about the quantity or quality of South Asian goods, though it looks good. What’s really appealing is the produce, especially fresh herbs.
