I like this Shoprite for a variety of groceries. They have a kosher section, a lot of organic food and the whole wing of wines and a separate fridge of beers. The selection of gourmet cheeses is amazing and they are starting to add European style dried salami. This store always has new selections every week. I try to buy organic food and I like them adding new selections of organic food every month. While produce is not as fresh as at Wholefoods, other organic groceries are much cheaper than at Wholefoods. The store gets extremely crowded over the weekend, especially on Sundays. Generally they are a little more crowded than I would want a grocery store to be. And it’s hard to find someone to help you find what you are looking for. Their pharmacy has very limited hours so I never use it. Overall, great selection, but a little too crowded.

Wow Parsippany Shoprite used to be something to brag about … OMG what the heck is going on their now. At 6 pm I went over to the hot foods, figured I’d have little dinner while my elderly parents shopped. I couldn’t believe how the entire hot foods were all dried up brown and dehydrated. I managed to get a piece of chicken and nothing to go with it because like I said nithing was edible. Now I try to pay at the register near the hot foods and she says, oh go to The customer service to Pay, I don’t Know how to Ring up the food. that was quite annoying to have to wait for lottery tickets cigarette and other issues at customer service … Ok so now it’s seven and my elderly parent decide they want to eat, they decide to eat Chinese food which by the was nice and fresh and taken care of not abandoned like the other hot food. Now I go to pay and another girl is working the resister, at the hot foods and she says go to the customer service and pay I’m shutting down … Why the hell would The register closes at seven while there still selling the food. OMG what confusion at the customer Service… then hike back to the tables so you can eat … This Shoprite is going down hill… Then they have security people going around staring at you like you’re afraid to even pick up your pocketbook that they’re going to say something to you, making you feel extremely uncomfortable being stared at .this place is getting ridiculous.

Ok what is it that I like about this Shoprite. Is it the fact that I can shop for groceries and alcohol at the same time? Is it the fact I can grab a hot meal and sit down and eat it with my shopping cart near me? No I’m not a drinker but I do like a nice cup of café and a snack. They have a sweet cheese counter I love to grab a few slices for some mac n cheese. They renovated the store from the first time I came here. I have to get use to the aisles so I know where things are. I will cause I’m a shopper.

I have shopped at this Shop Rite for over 15 years — before it became a super shop rite and afterwards. However, the past 2 yrs my experience shopping here has been disgusting. I have complained to no avail. 1) they hired some young kid(that thinks he is super cop) to follow certain people around in the store(i have witnessed this with my own eyes). 2) my shopping experience gets worst each time until I no longer grocery shop here, except rarely if I need one or two items. For instance last week I wanted to purchase fish for dinner. I went to this shop rite and the man behind the counter told me to go and come back in 20 mins. No need to go any where because I only wanted that one item. I’m waiting for my fish and he waits on 2 people. After the 2nd person, I asked why isnt he completing my order and he tells me — I told you to go and come back in 20 mins. and that cleaning the fish was a courtesy. These are the rude types that work at this Shop Rite. To make matters worst the fish had a strong fishy smell — I cooked it anyway and it wasn’t fit for consumation. Wasted money and time. As a comparison, I went to Shop Rite in Caldwell(old, dingy bldg — but the workers are happy, kind and courteous). I purchased fish from here and the gentleman did not give me a hard time and told me to have a nice weekend.

We just discovered this Shop Rite right behind Long Horne Steakhouse. I see that it has not been reviewed. They are the nicest, most well stocked, spacious, clean market I think I’ve ever been in. The staff is genuinely interested in helping you find your Bleu D’Auverngne. It also not just one person who is helpful. Everyone makes an effort to make you feel welcome. Rarely do you find a big business that is doing everything right, or has not already made so much money that they no longer care about the customer. We love shopping here!
