Progressive Building Management

Incompetent property management company. The people working there are rude and condescending. If it were an option, I would give this company no stars. The property manager Joel Bornstein manages the condo property where I live and he is horrible, rude, unapproachable and non-​responsive. He does not reply to emails or phone calls. I have called Progressives vendors directly and they are telling me the same thing. Stay away from Progressive Building Management as they are nothing more then slum lords and scammers.

This company manages the condo association in which my husband and I live in Montclair, NJ. The only day to day contact we have with them is via our property manager, Joel Bornstein, so this review is based primarily on interaction with him. He is unprofessional, lacks basic communication skills, and displays abusive behavior towards vendors & unit owners. He refuses to reply to emails and does not return messages. When work is being done to common areas, he rarely informs unit owners in advance, he has told unit owners to only contact him during business hours and will not reply to messages received outside of those hours. Since he continues to be employed by Progressive, it is clear that this conduct and approach to property management is what one can expect from any representative of this company. Unless you want vendors who destroy property (stained carpeting, damaged retaining walls, etc), an absentee property manager who screams and curses at unit owners, and acts like a landlord/​slumlord, stay as far away from this company as possible.
