It was easy to rent a car from Budget but I ran into trouble when I got a flat tire on my way to return it. The folks on the phone urged me to call their roadside assistance and they assured me that it was free. I returned the car and the on-site manager reassured me that everything was fine — that I wouldn’t have any surprise charges. He had me complete an incident report just in case. Months later I got a letter telling me that Budget was going to deduct nearly $ 200 from my credit card because of that incident. I immediately called them and they said they’d look into it. I have many back-and-forth emails. They initially said I wouldn’t be charged but refused to refund it when I was. It was an absolute nightmare. For them it came down to me not having their Roadside Safety Net(or whatever they called it). That is an additional insurance for stuff like flat tires. They never offered me the coverage and it didn’t show on my contract that I either accepted or declined that coverage. Also, from the letter that Budget sent to me, they didn’t explain how they calculated the charge. I filed a claim with the Better Business Bureau. Budget refused to compromise. Then I sued them and won. I had to go back to court again because they still didn’t refund my money. It was a stressful pain in the butt. Budget and their affiliates have completely lost my trust. I would much rather pay more money to rent from another company.

The people who are suppose to be helping with certain situations were too sensitive too help a customer. The manager and other reps just hangs up the phone on customers. If this company expects to have people helping others I would fire everyone at this location as of today immediately.
