if you ever find yourself on the outskirts of the tampa bay region and need a somewhat elegant place to throw a reception for your next wedding/​birthday/​funeral, you can’t go wrong with the river wilderness
everything on the grounds is very well kept and impeccable [reminds me of how much of my college tuition went towards the landscaping at USF…]. the waitstaff is made up of a lot of very young people, and though they’re not always proper with the «sir» and «ma’am» titles, service is fast and willing
[a few of them said they really enjoy their jobs– especially since a lot of it involves being paid to sit around]
depending on your mood and/​or ethnicity, the kitchen can accomodate your palate. in the case of my cousin’s wedding, we had a neo-​american-​filipino-​vietnamese thing going, and they didn’t miss a beat.
and, most importantly, the bar takes credit cards. make a night of it.
[have fireworks for your scottish uncle’s 80^th birthday if you’d like, as well. they can do that.]
