I live in the general area and I was looking forward to the Valley Inn opening. I went for lunch and while my entrée was fine it was in no way memorable and the service was sparse — they were understaffed. However, what really disappointed me was the restaurant itself. The new owners had the opportunity to bring this restaurant into the 21st century-instead they left it to what may have been considered hunting set chic in the 1980’s. That look was a bit dowdy back in 1980 it is downright passé now. Big disappointment!

We loved the old Silver Spring Inn on Belair Road for its sour beef & dumplings and it’s been re-incarnated at the Valley View Inn. Sonny’s recipe is perfect and the price cannot be beat ~$ 10. Eat at the bar or the restaurant for wonderful, personal service.

I have to start by saying that I have had few meals there to critique, but I can say for sure that they have the BEST hamburgers I have ever had. Ever. They offer a 6oz and a 12 oz and will cook it as well done or as bloody as you’d like. Service can be a little slow, but the wait staff are wonderful people and the inn offers a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Its the type of place that the staff would remember your name if you visited just a few times. I love it. Also… their corn nuggets appetizer are good, too. I chose ‘moderate’ as a price range, but I would also say that they offer meals under $ 10 as well. Great family place.
