Sunrise Soap is the best! I live in Parkville, so I love frequenting the local businesses. The bars of soap smell awesome and come in about 50 scents — you can really find some unique smells. I bought a bag of different soaps and tucked some between my t-shirts in my closet to store them. Not only do you have awesome soap to use once one is gone, but your closet/clothes smell amazing too! I also bought the sugar scrub and it is one of the best I’ve ever used. It almost has a lotion-like base and comes in a variety of scents. It lasts forever and is only $ 12!

I had never heard of this place before this past weekend when I wandered over there after lunch at Stone Canyon Pizza. My stepmom and I loved the place, it smelled wonderful and I think I have finally found a lotion(Skin Saver) that may help my winter-ravaged hands. The lady running the shop was super-friendly and let my four-year-old pick out some soap slivers to take home, he was thrilled. We’ll definitely be back!

If you love Sage & Daisy on 39th, you will absolutely love Sunrise Soap. It’s a teeny little storefront just past the railroad tracks in Parkville, buried in that little strip mall and easy to miss. But don’t miss it! Sunrise is a small little shop with lots of heart. Meander through the place to find soaps from chocolate to cabernet and lemongrass to lilac. There are other bathing products as well but soap dominates. The best part is everything is handmade! If you doubt it, just take the two steps to the back of the store and peer through the glass as the owners create their delectable flavors. They’re also made without all the chemicals found in your Dove or Ivory bar, plus they don’t use animal fat. An added tip? If you’re indecisive, they have slivers that are good for 5 – 10 showers for half a buck. A great deal if you want to try everything.

This little shop is in a shopping area of little Parkville, MO. As soon as you enter, you’re greeted with tons of awesome smells. All of the soaps, lotions, and other smellys that you’ll find here are homemade. Cute little place.

I’m a really big fan of handmade soap. I’m completely fascinated by the use of ingredients along with the organic shapes and textures that appeal to me far more than a freaking Dove bar or pump sitting in my bathroom. Sunrise Soap is a breath of fresh soap, sunshine, air, or whatever clever word you’d like to come up with. The shop is stellar. Your eyes quickly jump to the see-through glass where soap is made right there in front of you. No unknowns here. What you’re buying from this little shop is the work of the two ladies right behind the glass. It’s like seeing into an artisans workshop or walking into a Krispy Crème for the first time. :) I quickly asked, «What’s the story behind this place?» One of the ladies, responded, «We just make all of it right here. It’s what we believe in.» Now how’s that for a 30 second elevator pitch? Every bar is made from high quality vegetable oils. Think coconuts, olives, and palm. Keeping to this philosophy, all the soap is cold-pressed, not from a melt or pour base. Now that’s good because it allows them to control EVERYSINGLE ingredient in the soap, meaning no harsh chemicals, dyes or fragrances. And like Judy said, no tallow(animal fat) either! Their process also preserves all the yummy glycerin(natural moisturizer and latherer for the skin) which mostly is taken out from supermarket soap. Terry and Judy have been making soap for over a decade and we’re all pretty fortunate to be a part of it. I’m rocking a lavender bar right now in the bathroom and loving every pink and vanilla inch of it.
