If you are going to have a western union advertised you should have it available for your customers until western union closes not 20 – 30 minutes before it closes that is just bad business practice and saying that it is down before 9 when western union closes everywhere is just… and then you send the poor saps that come in expecting to be able to utilize this service to another store and mislead them on the hours of operation for their western union counter.

I work in Parkville but live in Essex, I love to take advantage of $ 5 Friday’s… Also love the fact Safeway is open until midnight sometimes iWork late and majority markets are closed. this being said $ 5 Friday’s is awesome ! & the bakery is always fresh. Never had a bad moment when we shop.

I went to Safeway to buy yogurt today and there was no Yogurt I asked employee about it and she began telling me how the person that stocks the shelf is sick and hasn’t been here for five days instead of getting what I need she walked away from me looking at her cell phone it’s unbelievable as I walk to the front to pay for the other items I heard The front store manager complaining about a customer that asked to many questions

I moved away from the area 5 years ago and so this store stopped being my «home» Safeway store. I frequent another Safeway a few blocks from my home(no complaints!). However, I’m in the area often for family and work things, so I do occasionally need to stop in for a quick grab. Unfortunately, it’s anything but quick. This store is consistently lackluster in service. During peak times, only ½ the checkout lines are open and the self checkout line is always 12+ people deep. Last night, I waited in the self checkout line with 4 items for 18 minutes. Only 1 self checkout kiosk was functional. The staff rebooted the machines and gave up. They initially had no idea what to do with the handicap gentleman who clearly needed help loading his groceries into his ride along cart(and in fact, the manager woman seemed to give him some lip.) It was a miserable experience… And it’s all managerial. Shift your workers around during peak times to get people checked out faster. Make sure your solution to checkouts(self checkouts) actually work. It’s 2015, computers should be working consistently. Maybe the computer problem was the fact they are running Windows XP…

Lines are usually obnoxiously long. At peak hours you’d imagine they would have more staff at the checkouts. The self service registers are nice, but that only can do so much. Only go to this store out of convenience, but I avoid it when possible.

Had nats in there bagel case in the bakery. also the workers at the deli counter are snappy. Act like you’re bothering them when you ask them something. If you ask for meat they get pissy if don’t tell them the specific kind. Bought a dunkin donuts creamer, took it home and found out it was already opened and was bad. Do not go late at night because they only have one cashier on duty. You better hope someone isn’t doing there weekly shopping abd checking out the same time as you cause it’s a long wait. The Starbucks closes early some nights, between an hour to half an hour early. Everything seems to have gone down hill since they’ve gotten a new store manager. In my opinion he’s a little to young to be running the store.

There are never hand baskets available! I always have to start off by walking past the checkout lanes hunting for a basket, and that hasn’t changed in the 3 years I’ve been going here. For a while they had nice double-decker carts but I rarely see them anymore. Besides this, the prices and selection is comparable to other large grocery store chains. Like most grocery stores these day almost everything is on sale because they hike up the list price first to make it look like a good deal. The store is clean.

I love the self checkout! I don’t want to talk to anyone and I am able to pack my own groceries in my reusable bag and I can sort how I’d like things to be packed. There are only 4 self checkout counters, so you may have to wait. I recommend getting a Starbucks coffee for your trip before heading to self checkout line in case you do have to wait.

We just moved to the area and after visiting several grocery stores in the area, this is our new favorite. Large produce section. It was clean, well organized, and keeping up with the trends of modern supermarkets. I’ve only been there later in the evening, but I can imagine it gets very busy during the day. Even at night, with only a few customers, there weren’t enough registers open. Who wants to wait in line for 15 minutes to check out?

Clean spacious store with comprehensive selections. This is a store where you definitely need a store values card. Self checkout gets pretty crowded and they don’t have enough checkers at peak times. Starbucks in store is well managed, clean and efficient.
