Larky’s

Yielky’s was a favorite of mine growing up and was in this same location so I decided to give this place a try. First off there was no hurry to get my order, although a «regular» customer got his order taken right away. The person that took the order had to check with me three more times to verify my order — 2 single cheeseburgers to go with mustard pickle and onion. Don’t know what was hard about that?
As to the burgers — I ended up with double cheeseburgers but after the previous issues I didn’t quibble. The meat seemed fresh although it left small bits of tuff pieces in my mouth. The previous shop I referred to before raised and ground their own beef and you were greeted right away with a smile like a friend. Flavors otherwise were good and meat juicy but nothing that stands out and definitely not the quality of the old Yielky’s. This place in my opinion doesn’t have quite the control over the quality of the meat nor the friendly vibe to a stranger. In essence it is the typical ground meat I can buy in my local chain grocery. Due to the order problems and typical ground meat I rate this place average. I am not from this area anymore so my comparisons may not relate to what is available locally, however I am a BIG fan of the NET burger.

Loved this place. 7 stools at the counter… small but mighty. Hamburgers made fresh. Chili was excellent. I had the mild… i am sure the hot would be good too! Very friendly staff! Go in and order a «dressed» burger… tell ‘em «Wayne sent me!»…y’all come back now ya hear???

Best hamburgers in town. Chili is good too. Great lunch counter with friendly staff. It’s a fun place to be a regular.
It’s size is part of it’s charm. Only a few seats. I grab and go.

I like stopping here on my way to or from work… always running into friends and meeting new people.
