This was my first exposure to local theatre on a smaller scale. The presentation was Talking Minnesotan put on by local actors. The whole thing was wrong as far as I could tell. The window where you go to pick up your tickets intersects with the line to enter the theatre which causes a confused and crowded mass of humanity. When I picked up the tickets I asked the ticket person if it was all general admission seating and she said it was. When we were herded into the theatre the front half of the seating was taped off for groups forcing us to sit in the rear. This is not general admission seating and if we all pay the same amount reserved seating doesn’t seem fair. The play was horribly done, too loud, very poor singing and the whole thing seemed uncomfortable. The 2 older men in the play were okay they didn’t try to elevate the volume beyond their range and they knew their lines. The actor who played the mother seemed to forget her lines and the actor who played the daughter was too loud and too animated. I paid $ 18 for this ticket and really felt cheated.
