State Liquor Store

Utah laws are horrible. This place was packed with expensive booze. Micro beer was overpriced, and forget finding any domestic beers. I asked about a keg rental and they laughed at me and told me to drive 45 min north to Wyoming.

If you’re heading northeast, store 37 is one of the last full selection sources outside of packing agencies (small) before the Wyoming border. ~m

In perfect proximity to my job, makes for a convenient stop when I need something to keep in my desk’s emergency stash.
Clean store, friendly staff.

I couldn’t have been drunk because there’s more alcohol in my mouthwash than in this whole establishment… but I swear I saw a small pig that was hanging in a shopping cart like a little baby. No squealing or anything and it’s hair smelt like baby shampoo… Where do I get one?

A few words of advice for those of you planning on drinking in Utah… plan ahead!
We decided to go pick up a bottle of wine and a bottle of champagne from this «Store 37» on ¹²⁄₃₁ — just about 8 hours before New Years Eve. So did the rest of the Park City Community… there was a line out the door!
Along with really strict liquor laws in Utah, the state governs the liquor stores and the number of people that can enter at one time. It was kind of funny actually, but quite a unique experience. Once we made it through the line to get inside, we browsed the mediocre selection and picked up a few things only to wait in another line to check out. Our mission was worthwhile, however, we did return with alcohol to bring in the new year!
An additional thing to note, however, is that the state of Utah puts a special sticker on every single bottle of alcohol that is sold in their state. We found this out the hard way… we brought a special bottle of wine with us to dinner one night — one we’d brought from home here in AZ — and were told they could not cork it for us as it was not bought in the state of Utah. Jared actually tried to tell the waiter that indeed it was (not knowing the sticker deal at that point). Just a heads up and hopefully that will help out in your future plans!
And for you naughty little Unilocalers, FYI — it is possible to transfer the stickers from one bottle to another. (I didn’t say legal, but I did say possible). Happy new year!
