Awesome authentic Cajun food!!! Very friendly staff. The portion sizes are very good and the crawfish is the best I’ve had.

DAT Ragin Cajun* is out of this world! Best Cajun this side of the border. The Swamp plate is what ya get! It’s a little bit of every meat they serve! Gator, Frog legs, Shrimp, Fish, Crawfish! Too much food for 1! 3 could share!!! Batter is mmmmmazing!!! Do yourself a favor and order 2 fried corn of the cobs! My only suggestion… Add Desserts! This town needs Nawlin Bread Pudding & Beignets!!! *The Reviewer below must be a friend of The Slum Lord’s or from the looks possibly a relative or maybe it’s even HIM in disguise.

It is a hole in the wall, but some of the best food can often be found in an old building in a historic part of town. Unfortunately, that is not what the four of us found here. The boudin sausage balls were battered and fried with a hard crust. They were wrapped around a cheese ball. It had a decent flavor but I’ve had better. The jambalaya was like a thick pork roast risotto. It didn’t taste bad it just was not what I was expecting: no Cajun spicing at all. The fried fish was probably the best thing I tasted but again not Cajun flavored. The fried shrimp were really large and battered nicely but not spiced. Most meals come with two sides. The red beans and rice were kidney beans with a little hard clump of rice. Once again, no Cajun flavorings. Popeyes’ red beans and rice are much better. But the Cajun fried corn was spicy and tasty. The fries were battered and fried crisp with soft insides. The coleslaw was fresh and not drowned in sauce. The dirty rice was bland. The jalapeño hush puppies were crunchy and flavorful but they were doughy inside. The food was ok but nothing except the decorations and the creole seasoning on the table had a Cajun flavor. It just wasn’t what I expected from a restaurant that calls itself Dat Ragin Cajun. P. S. It is BYOB until they get their liquor license.
