I was freaking out last night when my iPhone 4s didn’t update correctly and went into recovery mode. Nothing I did was working, and I had to get to LGA for an early afternoon flight. I tried making an appointment with the Apple Store in the mall, but realized they wouldn’t be open at 10am for the 9:30am appointment slot that I was reserved for. I found Essex Computers on Google, and I was surprised they were only 2 blocks from my hotel AND open at 8:30am.(You have to go around to the back parking lot, FYI.) I showed up at 9am, and by 9:20am, they had my phone up and running, backed up from iCloud. Brian was helping me. Apparently it wasn’t that big of a deal to fix my phone, so he didn’t even charge me anything(and my phone wasn’t under warranty anymore!). Great customer service, THANKYOU!!!

Wow, what a disappointment — my company has been working with Essex for nearly 15 years and it’s clear we valued the relationship more than they did. Upgraded a monitor after vetting compatibility with their tech, then found out it would require both an extension cable and an expensive adapter to work. Not worth the hassle, so decided to return the monitor and was told there would be a 10% restocking fee(a policy not to be found on our paperwork or their website). Never got back to me re: supplying the necessary adapter at their cost so we could keep the monitor. A shame that a long-time customer relationship(never mind their reputation) was worth less than $ 50 to them.
