Had a $ 25 gift card and this was the closest location. My hubby and I were so happy to bring the kids here… they were full of excitement to «build their own bear». Just know the basic steps: 1. Choose a bear(it’s on a specific wall and has about 20 different ones to choose from… such as regular bears, my little pony, star wars, minions, etc) They range from around $ 15-$ 50. They also have bears on sale in a big bin. 2. Do you want sound for your bear? music?($ 4 and up) 3. Do you want it to have a scent? Like cotton candy(which my kids chose), strawberry, mixed berries, etc($ 3.50 each) 4. Kids choose a heart and the employee has them repeat things to say to dedicate the heart to the bear. 5. Now the stuffing begins. The workers were so friendly and we had Mike. He was great with the kids. He has the kids press on the pedal to get the stuffing started. They were having a ball! 6. After the stuffing, I noticed the back of the strings were loose and Mike looked like he was doing surgery on the bear… he basically closed up the bear and WALA, their bears was ready to go. He asked how the bear felt and the kids said«nice and soft» with a big smile. 7. And then this is where the pockets start to hurt. The kids want«accessories» such as a dress($ 13), shoes($ 9), a bear light saver($ 12), and the list can go on from hairbands, to pajamas, oh man!!! 8. And it comes down to the end… they NAMETHEIRBEAR… My son named his bear«Dr. Vader» hahaha and my daughter named her’s «Tia». They received birth certificates for their bears(received at the cashier’s) and when we finally closed out the bill, they offered boxes for the bears. We were literally there for 1 hour… it was a lot of fun with the kiddies! All in all, we spent $ 100…yah it was a lot, but the experience was awesome. Thanks Build-A-Bear Paramus!

Automatic 3-stars because it’s build a bear. Staff was mostly nice but the«stuffer» wasn’t very nice. She didn’t asked whether we wanted out beat soft, medium, or hard. She asked if the bunny was hard enough and we said yes. She put in more stuffing. She asked if we wanted a heart in addition to the heart beat heart. We said no because I didn’t want to hearts. She said it doesn’t bother her and it’s free in kind of a passive aggressive tone. Other than that 10⁄10 and had all items in stock :)

My daughter just loves this place!!! We go there often enough that the employees know us and are always soo nice and pleasant to us! Went there today(again) lol and was immediately recognized and greeted by Karen! Lisa helped my daughter with her bunny today and went above and beyond with my daughter from conversation to conversation! Always the perfect experience there. Only downfall is that is does get crazy busy there on some days but I just chalk it up to everyone leaves happy and is eager to come back! Even when it is busy all the employes do everything they can to have everything run smoothly still

What an experience! Build-A-Bear was the first thing on my daughter’s birthday«To-Do List» this year, and we are all so glad it was. This being our first time actually creating a bear from start to finish, our tour began with a warm greeting from Andrew who helped my 6-year old every step of the way – from bear selection to filling her birthday bear with just the right amount of stuffing. After bear selection, sound recording, stuffing, undies & outfit, out bear came out to be about $ 47. We had a $ 10 off coupon, so our-the-door the bear was $ 37… a pretty good deal! Or only criticism came later that night; by the time we got home, the batteries in the sound pack – 2 watch size batteries – wore out. So my daughter was crushed… No worries – I went back the next morning and has the sound pack changed out.
