I’ve had to downgrade 16 Handles in light of all the other stellar self-serve frozen yogurt places that have cropped up. 16 Handles was OK when it was the only game in the area. Now, they really can’t compete. The yogurt is still good, but there aren’t enough toppings, even when you factor in what they have«behind the counter» by request only. Plus, the location has gotten really hectic, with people putting their hands in the toppings and the people who work there getting more and more harried. If I’m at Garden State Plaza, I might partake. But Frozen Peaks(at Bergen Town Center) is my go-to for self-serve froyo fix now.

My favorite thing about 16 handles is that they have rainbow cake as a topping. Seriously. It’s the best thing ever! Other than that — it’s just okay. Not my favorite euro-tart but it’s alright.

It’s not clean! And I saw a teenager use her hand to take off the excess fro yo hanging on one of the machines. Ew! There are many workers but they are too preoccupied with the toppings. They should have someone stand by the fro yo machines.

This is not an actual shop, but rather one of several food kiosks scattered throughout the Garden State Plaza mall. The 16 Handles kiosk is made up of self-serve machines, a small area of toppings next to the cash register, and a few tables and chairs on the other side. At this location, there are eight, not 16 flavors of frozen yogurt. When I was there, the flavors were Vanilla, Chocolate, Cheesecake, Heath Bar, Cookies and Cream, Eurotart, Strawberry Kiwi, and Blackberry. Unfortunately, the Blackberry machine was not working well and the consistency of the Blackberry frozen yogurt, which had difficulty coming out of the machine, was odd. I filled my cup with some of each of the eight flavors. All were tasty, but my favorite flavor was Cheesecake followed by Cookies and Cream. I could not thoroughly enjoy my yogurt, however, because I had to eat as quickly as possible because it melted really fast and was already becoming liquidy as it sat on the cash register. The selection of toppings at this location is limited. For example, there weren’t any cheesecake bits to go with my Cheesecake fro-yo. The blueberries I had were fresh though. This a worthwhile place to get a cold treat while shopping at the mall. However, it is a bit overpriced for what it is.

Good froyo. A little overpriced for what it is. It’s in a mall, so it’s not the best thing ever, however, the flavors are great and really fresh tasting. If you are at GSP I would recommend stopping by. Delish and refreshing for summer.

I hate flavorless fro-yo. Tasti-D-Lite I’m talking to you. 16 Handles Too offers a variety of flavors though I’ve just tried the Eurotart which is great. All of this is self-serve so once you choose the size you want and fill it up with your flavor then you can pile on the toppings. Just be careful though since the cost is based on weight. I saw one girl piling granola on top of her frozen yogurt — I have a feeling she was in for an unpleasant surprise when she saw the final cost. But if you’re smart you can get out of here with minimal damage. And they have a good variety of toppings including a lot of fresh fruit — blackberries, mango, kiwi, etc. If you’re looking for a snack in the Garden State Plaza this should be at the top of your list.

Went here months ago. It’s a kiosk type setup. But it is styled the same way as their flagship store on 2nd Ave. in NYC. The best flavor is euro tart. Froyo is the perfect treat to walk around a mall like this, especially on hot days.

This is the best frozen yogurt I have ever had. To me, no other even begins to compare. What makes it so great is that many of the flavors don’t taste like fro yo as much as they taste like soft serve ice cream, it’s incredible. My favorites are Red Velvet, Birthday Cake, and Strawberry. The other thing everyone loves is the topping bar and the fact that you can apply them yourself. It’s just fun, period. You feel like a kid in a candy store, but don’t go overboard, because the yogurt alone is so delicious it really needs nothing. Yes, it is a bit pricey here. In my opinion, it is 100% worth it. It’s hard to visit the mall and not stop here. The NYC location has a larger variety, but this place does just fine.

I love the NYC version of this frozen yogurt and this one is so much closer. Get dulce de leche flavor. A bit pricey, around $ 5 but its good once in a while. Not sure but it is probably healthier that ice cream. Located near the lord and taylor and California Pizza Kitchen entrance of the mall.
