West Coast Deck Waterproofing

Very unprofessional — from customer service to management.
I would not recommend them.

West Coast Deck Waterproofing just completed a job for us recently, and we are very pleased with the results. The existing balcony and patio floors were cracking and needed re-​surfacing. After getting three comparable bids for the job, we ended up going with West Coast. They came on time and worked two days straight, until the job was completed. The floors look great! I felt that the guys and the office staff were very responsive to my questions and concerns. Thank you!

I received bids from 4 different contractors for the large roof decks and balconies of two homes in Redondo Beach. West Coast Deck provided (by far) the most detailed and professional proposal, and their price was very competitive. But the reason I chose them was because of the knowledge, experience, and personable nature of the owner/​manager, Frank. His thorough inspection revealed issues that the other contractor’s missed, and his can-​do attitude made me feel comfortable that they would do a good job. I wasn’t disappointed! His crews were courteous, clean, and professional. They arrived on time every day and took extra care to get all the details right. Plus, the office manager and job coordinator, Mizene, remained in constant touch throughout the process. After the jobs were completed, Frank made a point of revisiting the site to inspect the work and make sure I was satisfied, and that was AFTER I had already paid in full. How many contractors do that?!! I’m happy to recommend Frank and his team.

They have done work for us before and we were very pleased.
We are so disappointed with the job they did this time. The company has not been responsive to our complaints. Their first mode of response is blaming us for any of our concerns.
For this job we needed to have our entire deck redone and we were prepared for that. They took the deck down to the concrete (jack hammers were involved). We paid for extra grading and expected that the end result would provide a surface that would drain all the water away from the house and the jacuzzi.
The water pools around the controls and the grouting around the jacuzzi. The extra canal they constructed is not draining they water away, it just sits on the deck. I’m afraid it’s only a matter of time before we have more leaks.
The job was not conceived and executed properly to begin with. They cut corners and the end product wasn’t satisfactory. They were out many times to «fix» the problems which wouldn’t have happened if it had been done the first time. In the end the problems have not been fixed to our satisfaction.

I called three different companies and West Coast was on time and totally prepared. Juan had given me the least expensive one of the three but also gave me more detail, eliminated the plywood that I didn’t need, like the other companies said I needed, and painted the railing that had to be resized. He helped me find a color that would match the stucco on the house which he custom mixed for me. Also didn’t need to access the balcony from inside the house he and his crew used ladders for the whole process which wasn’t easy but I totally appreciated. He had tons of photos to help me gauge what he would be doing and what the end result would look like. Extremely professional team! Would highly recommend this company!

these guys were right on time, they did a great job, and when I went to check and mistakenly walked on the deck before it dried, they went back and fixed it w/​o complaint or delay. i couldn’t be happier with their work
