I am truly thankful for the care our children received from the anesthesiologists. I do however question who they have running their billing and accounting department.
Our family paid for surgery for two of our children the day prior to surgery. We had no idea what was included in the payment only that it was a projected amount that would be owed after insurance. We never received a bill anytime after the surgeries. Not a single bill. Not even a phone call until twelve months and one week after the surgeries. It was a call to notify us that we had been turned over to collections for a surgery on our son over a year ago. The anesthesiologists office told me they had sent one bill and it had been returned to them for the wrong address. They never again tried to contact us and their «System» decided it was time to kick it out to collections. Funny that collections could locate our phone number! I paid the bill on the spot and questioned if we had another bill for our other child’s surgery. Kenya said I was given the all clear. Much to my surprise, I received another call from collections a week later regarding our other child. That was it! My good name was being dragged through credit and collections for no reason. I called Valley Anesthesiology and their billing department said it was my fault for not paying what my insurance coverage of benefits invoice said I owed to them. I pointed out that the top of those statements say clearly, «This Is Not A Bill». This associate was named Nereida and she refused to take responsibility for this clerical error. She said they only had the address given by the hospital. I knew she was not telling the truth because our invoice had been sent to a combination of our new house number and our old house street address. I immediately paid again for a bill we never knew existed. Both amounts owed were under $ 100.00 but they could have really damaged my credit since they were turned over to collections! This is very unprofessional and I truly thank God that my children received quality medical care even though the office billing practices are unethical and their staff is very disrespectful. Beware.

My review has nothing to do with the care I received. My anesthesiologist was great.
I’m very upset about their billing practices. I paid for my services the day of my surgery; not knowing this did not include anesthesiology. I never received a bill; not one. Not ever.
This weekend I received a bill from a COLLECTION agency stating I had not paid my bill and it would affect my credit score. Of course, I immediately called Valley Anesthesiology this morning. I was informed they had sent me 4 bills, but all had been returned because they had my WRONG address. Rather than pick up a phone and just call me to get my address. they sent me to collections. The girl’s excuse was they are TOO BIG of a company to verify addresses; so they automatically submit them to collections.
Horrifying…when I looked at the address the collection agency used, it was not only ALSO WRONG, it was completely different from the one VAC had used. Thankfully, my mail carrier knew my name and got it to me.
Of course, I paid my bill immediately, but clearly, my credit is of no importance to these people. Poor business practices leave clients at risk for no reason other than laziness in verifying an address; which they could have done with a quick phone call, or a call to my physician. I don’t feel the excuse I was given is a good one at all.
