I can honestly say that I have no idea where these high ratings are coming from. I’ve had multiple experiences at midlands that were not the best. I’ve had surgeries, and stayed multiple nights. I’ve experienced both inpatient and outpatient. I’ve been there taking someone else to the ER, and I’ve been there for scheduled appointments, every single time there have been seriously ridiculous circumstances in terms of professionalism and care. My latest experience was yesterday. I went to the ER during the morning hours on a Tuesday, i walk in the ER doors and it is empty, completely empty, including the reception area, I noticed a phone on the desk that says«If nobody is here, use this phone to contact us».(This seems like a fantastic situation for an ER by the way) So I pick up the phone and a woman answers with a grumpy huffy«HELLO?», to which I responded, «hello i’m here at the front desk» and she snarls«checking in or visiting?», I said«checking in», then I got«what for?» then I explained my symptoms and she said«ok hang on i’ll be there in a minute». A few minutes later she walks in from some back area, asks for my drivers license, has me sign privacy form and asks me to take a seat and vanishes again to the back. I watch various people come in and go through the same thing. They call me back a while later and the doctor and nurse were quick to visit with me, sent in the additional tests and such that they needed to run. After everything is over the doctor says, the nurse will be in to discharge me. 30 minutes go by and nothing… at all, so i opened the door and peaked around and there wasn’t a soul in sight, completely empty/abandon nurses desk, the one nurse and doctor i saw on my way in were not there, almost every door was open and empty… assuming they could have ambulance or another emergency on their hands i patiently wait with my door open for someone to discharge me. Nothing… minutes turn into hours… I was hungry, tired and obviously not going anywhere anytime soon, then I realized the discharge paperwork in the holder on the door, I took it, signed the acknowledgement and discharged myself and went home. I didn’t see anyone but some nurses sitting around at lunch in a break room on the way out. Otherwise, it was a very much a weird abandon hospital vibe. So anyway, my situation was not life or death, but the standard of care here is really poor. If you choose Midlands, good luck ! With that said… The professional center attached to Midlands is amazing… not to be confused with Midlands hospital.

Absolutely love this hospital. One I trust, I had 3 operations here and the nurses and staff are upmost caring! I rather go here than any other CHI hospital around. I usually go here for emergencies because the doctors actually know what they are talking about!

A great, newer hospital in Papillion. I am from Council Bluffs so this place is really far for me. The building appears to be newer and the receptionist on the 4th floor,(I believe?), was super nice in getting my wife and I in and out as fast as possible.

Less of an ER wait than Bellevue Medical Center!
