Great for lunch too! Me & the husband went in for lunch this afternoon. The service was a bit slow for the amount of patrons within the place, but the food more than made up for it. I had the Sirloin Steak Salad. It was great. The blue cheese vinaigrette was tasty and the stake was cooked rare as request. The hubby had the famous back door fried chicken. He loved it. I stole a piece of it and can attest to it’s greatness. This is a great place and highly recommended!

I came here with some other Unilocalers to try out some drinks and food. It was a great time! The staff was very attentive to our big group. We started out with the calamari and the prime rib flat bread which were both really great! I ordered the Texas Deviled Eggs as an appetizer — this, I wasn’t too thrilled about. I didn’t realize there were capers in the eggs and I didn’t like how salty the eggs were. I ordered the Chop House Sirloin Salad as my main meal — I really enjoyed the grilled potatoes, asparagus and tomatoes and the light drizzle of the blue cheese vinaigrette. I thought the sirloin was beautiful and perfectly cooked but it was a little overseasoned for my taste. I was able to try a tuna tostada and it was amazing! I loved the freshness of the tuna and the crunchiness of the tostada — they pair very well with each other! I’d like to come back and try more of their flatbreads and probably order more of the tuna tostada, too!

Just a quick update… went to the Unilocal Elite event and we were treated to our choice of the Seven Deadly Sips from their specialty drink menu. I had the peach one and it was smooth, strong and tasted very close to a less-firm Bellini. My friend had the spicy Bloody Mary and it was hot hot hot! Both normally are around $ 10. They have replaced their popovers with warm bread, which bummed me out, but the bread was good and warm! Service was top notch for our group and the menu has changed, so perhaps hubby and I will dine again and review once more.

Awesome! Great food, nice employees, cool manager! The outside of this place is a bit misleading, we went here because I saw it on groupon and thought it would be nice to try. The outside looks dated and it is in a strip mall(easy to miss). Upon entering we realized we had stumbled on something great. The hostess was very nice and sat us, we were quickly greeted by a very nice waiter who took our drink orders and gave us cold plates for the salad bar that we had ordered. * Make sure you order the salad bar– you will regret it if you do not. It is a nice size with goat and feta cheese, it had a nice selection and is only $ 5.00! * I ordered a Medium rare filet and it was AMAZING, very juicy and an amazing taste. * My date ordered the NY strip and he was extremely pleased with it. *The sides come family style but we couldn’t decided so we went ahead and got the mac 5 cheese and the mushrooms, we of course had a lot to take home. The manager came out and was very nice, not at all imposing(we have gone to quite a few steak houses and the managers come around to see us and are very overwhelming and invasive.) I really appreciated the staff and overall how attentive and kind they were, it was a nice relaxing environment and amazing food. I am so glad we tried it out and we will absolutely be back!

I came here last night for Unilocal 7 Deadly Sips. I had so much fun. Even with such a large group to manage, the staff was very accommodating. I sampled the maple bacon old fashioned. It was okay– not as good as the spicy bloody mary or blueberry heaven that I snagged sips of from friends. I shared the bacon shrimp and crab cakes with a friend and liked both dishes. The shrimp are sitting on top of delicious fried garlic gnocchi. I think I could have eaten a bowl of those by themselves. The crab cake has a nice sauce with just enough kick. I bailed before dessert, but the choices looked great. All in all it was a very nice experience!

I came here for the Unilocal’s 7 Deadly Sip event. There was a huge group of us ready to sin on some sips. I ordered the the Wrath(Bloody Mary). It was mixed with infused jalepeno vodka. My drink was so good and had a spicy kick to it. I loved every sip of my drink. I was able to try the blueberry heaven and I really liked it. I couldn’t taste the blueberry though but that’s ok as I don’t really care for blueberry! I was able to try the calamari here and I thought it was way too rubbery for me. The flatbread pizza that was served was fantastic. I enjoyed every bite of my slice. My friend ordered the steak salad and I was able to try the steak. In my opinion, it was way too salty for me. I prefer less season. I ordered the warm carrot cake to go for the hubby. The carrot cake was really good. Jacob was very attentive to our large group! I did enjoy my time here.

I had an amazing dinner with new friends at Chop House Steak & Seafood last night. This hole in the wall location is set in a small strip mall and produces some amazing food and atmosphere. My steak was cooked to perfection and was well seasoned. The menu has plenty of options but is not too large which is nice. The items are very well priced and worth every penny. Jacob did a great job serving our large table and mixed up some very special drinks for our 7 Deadly Sips party. My Sweet Peach Showdown tasted amazing and was made with Whispering Eye Blanco Tequila, peach schnapps, and Jacob’s house-made peach purée! Out of this world! His Blueberry Heaven was a nice backup option made with Muddled blueberries, house-made blueberry-lemon infused vodka, cranberry and pomegranate. Besides a small error on my check my experience was perfect. I will definitely have to visit again next time I’m in the area.

Visited with some friends to sample drinks and appetizers. They have a really nice selection of apps available that, aside from the calamari, is unlike anything you’ll find at other joints. Items like deviled egg with smoked salmon, bacon-wrapped shrimp with poblano and garlic gnocci and mushroom-stuffed perogi with a side of horseradish cream sauce. All very well done. The drinks were nice and strong too! We sampled an assortment of flat-breads and the one I tasted had chopped steak, green onion and blue cheese crumbles. Yum! The atmosphere resembles that of an old-school, no-nonsense steak place. Nothing fancy. Nothing uppity. The service-staff was absolutely fantastic as well.

Don’t miss a great dining opportunity. Arlington has grown up and has a real local steakhouse. The steaks, accompanying sauces, and prime rib are comparable to some of the top restaurants in Dallas and Fort Worth. I have tried multiple appetizers and they are all above excellent. The bread and rosemary butter are worth the calories. They even make a baked potato something to rave about. Special cocktails are their specialty. Something great is always infusing. And don’t miss the carrot cake. You will be back.

Everything was fantastic, the service, the steak, the bread, the sides, the salads. If I could afford to eat here every week I would. When I went the menu was a bit pricey but I hear they’ve made it more economical for the middle class locals, like myself, who loved having a steak/seafood place close not named«Papa something or other».

I’d been wanting to try Chop House since it opened and my husband took me last night for our 15th anniversary. I had high expectations and really figured we’d be let down some. Not a chance, this place is awesome! My husband had a filet and I had the chicken fried sirloin. We also both had the smoked tomato soup and it was incredible. They even gave us a complimentary glass of champagne to celebrate our anniversary. I thought the prices were very reasonable and the sides were plenty big enough for two people. I would suggest each person get a different side and everyone can try them. Great place, nice people!

Great service and it does have that old steakhouse feel. We actually didn’t have a chance to dine in the dinning room because we were there for a birthday party. Ordered a bottle of the Malbec and shared one of each of the appetizers with the group. The deviled eggs are made with smoked salmon and they were delicious! I highly recommend the bacon wrapped jumbo shrimp, they are served over a garlic gnocchi that is awesome!!! I wouldn’t order the potato wedges though. They were just too big and there wasn’t any dipping sauces. The sirloin salad is just the way to go!!! You get an 8oz sirloin, cooked to perfection, over a bed of mixed spinach and greens with a blue cheese vingarette. AND… it was all reasonably priced! I recommend it!

While there is room for improvement, Chop House Steak and Seafood is a promising addition to a local restaurant scene that is sorely lacking in upscale experiences. Don’t expect Del Frisco’s opulence, or prices. This is more of a rustic, small-town Texas style steakhouse, with a few contemporary twists. We’ve been twice. Both trips I had the cowboy cut bone-in ribeye, which was nicely seasoned(if you’re a fan of dry rubs) and cooked over wood. I guess I was a little less trusting of the cook our first visit, as I ordered my steak cooked medium rare instead of my preferred warm center rare. It was cooked exactly to order, which was a little too done for my taste. That’s on me, not the cook. The second trip I ordered it rare, and it was perfect. My wife ordered the prime rib, rare. It was tasty, but she would have preferred a slightly thicker cut. It was part of a $ 254-course special, so I still consider it a good value. Second trip she had a two-filet before 6pm special, which she really enjoyed. Definitely check into the 4 – 6 pm weekday specials if you’re an early diner. Very nice value. The salad bar is another good value if you order it with the meal($ 5). They have some unusual items you won’t find elsewhere, so spend the five bucks and check it out. As for the sides, the garlic mashed potatoes I had on my first visit were fine, but the Mac-and-cheese is better. I was pleased to see a good crowd on the Saturday night we went(first visit). Our second trip was a Thursday around 5:30, and the crowd was sparser. They had live music which was tasteful and adds to the atmosphere. Everything is set up for a nice bar scene if they can get the crowd. I hope the place gets a strong enough reputation that reservations will go from optional to strongly recommended. This is truly a unique venue for this part of town, and is deserving of local support.

I’m so excited to give Chop House Steak & Seafood 5 stars! They truly, truly deserve it. I must admit, I was definitely surprised by the outstanding food and service I received here. Located in a strip mall, it doesn’t appear from the outside that Chop House would offer such fine cuisine, gorgeous steaks, top-notch drinks, and an amazing ambiance. But listen to me… it does all of the above and passes with flying colors! I cannot wait to return. For drinks, appetizers, dinner, or dessert; it’s all fantastic. I came in around 8PM on a Wednesday to a pretty quiet dining room. We were quickly led to our table and brought ice water with lemon along with menus. There aren’t 9,000 options on this menu, which I appreciate. There are high quality steaks(cut in-house), a few awesome seafood options like salmon and tuna(nothing cheap), some finely crafted sides, a phenomenal salad bar, and an assortment of particular and established appetizers from bone marrow, to poached lengua, to tuna tartare, to crab cakes, to shrimp cocktail. When we told our waiter that I’m gluten-free, he immediately spoke to the chef(which is so greatly appreciated), and let me know exactly what I could have. We started with the shrimp cocktail; a handful of huge, meaty, delicious shrimp with a side of spicy cocktail sauce. It was fabulous and I’d definitely order it again. For dinner, I went with the 12 oz New York Strip($ 22) and a baked potato($ 5). Oh my goodness… the steak was cooked to absolute perfection. It’s wasn’t over-seasoned, it wasn’t overcooked… it was beautiful; medium rare, juicy, loaded with simple flavor, and just irresistible. I almost ate the entire thing, and that’s a lot of meat! I took home the leftovers because this steak was way too good to waste. It was served with a couple slices of grilled squash and zucchini and a couple bites of roasted garlic. These small additions really brought the plate to life and highlighted the steak brilliantly. So fantastic. My baked potato was just as good as the beautiful steak… piping hot, clearly baked and not microwaved, and encrusted in salt. Your potato comes out plain, and then you can decide what you want on it. Our waiter brought out bacon bits and Asiago cheese(yesssss), and offered me sour cream, butter, and chives. I’ll take everything, thanks! Potato perfection accomplished. On top of the unbeatable food, Chop House offered amazing service and delightful drinks. Our waiter, Charlie, was so friendly, extremely helpful, and wasn’t hesitant when we asked what cuts of meat or cocktails he suggested. All of his advice was genuine and spot on. I tried a fruity concoction; tequila, blueberries, and blackberries. It was fantastic! I also had the Puerto Rican Coffee for dessert, which contained spiced rum and was topped with whipped cream… so wonderful. To make things even better, I was able to order dessert; a flourless, rich, and creamy chocolate cake served with a small side of fresh berries. Again… so wonderful. Don’t judge a book by it’s cover! Chop House Steak & Seafood isn’t in a fancy location, and it doesn’t look from the outside like it’d be home to such incredible food… but, it is. Plain and simple. I haven’t enjoyed every single aspect of a restaurant in quite some time, and I seriously can’t wait to go back.

We’re all friends right? I’ve got a secret but y’all can’t tell anyone. I know a place where you can get some bootleg chicken. In Pantego you go to Chop House Steak and Seafood. DONOT go in the restaurant, you go to the back door and ring the bell. When I went, a guy came out and asked what I wanted? I told him«chicken». He asked if I was the cops. I told him, «No», and gave him $ 20. Pretty soon he came back with a brown paper bag. That bag had a bacon fried chicken, garlic mashed potatoes, grilled corn on the cob, and jalapeño biscuits. The chicken is not like chain chicken, it’s like what your mom used to cook… well if she was a really good cook. Again this is just our secret and you can’t tell anyone. I don’t want to get in trouble.

Great steak and really good sides. The service was friendly, but good have been a little more attentive. Overall, a great Steakhouse! I would compare the Cowboy Cut Ribeye I had w/Ruth’s Chris or Del Frisco Steakhouses!

We usually go to DelFrisco’s if we want a real steak-no more! WOW! Our filets were delicious, the mushrooms as a side were yummy. And did I mention the salad bar! Fresh & creative. Thursday’s they have ½ price appetizers along with their happy hour specials. Music too. We are going back to try the Bone Marrow appetizer this week!

Well, I’m not a relative, or a paid shill, and I only get out for dinner once, or occasionally twice a week… but I can guarantee I’m not some know it all, dining primadonna either, so you can take my views of here any way you want, your mileage may vary. Had been looking forward to eating here for awhile, group of about seven went in on a Friday night couple of weeks ago. A couple in the group had already been there once. Came in and sat at the bar and had drinks. $ 7 for call gin and tonic, not a bad price and it was a good drink, no problems there. Got seated at our appointed res time, and server greeted us quickly and gave us an adequate description of specials and regular items. I opted for the shrimp and crab cakes, salad bar, five cheese mac and cheese, and the Cowboy Cut ribeye, and followed it up with the carrot cake. Shrimp/Crab cakes were absolutely great. Cooked well, seasoned well and tasted great. The romoulade served with it was very good. The salad bar has a large selection of add on’s. To be honest, a lot of them are lost on my low end tastes, but the salmon bacon bits and pickled cucumbers I had were great. Everyone liked the salad bar and the selections available. The five cheese mac, while good, wasn’t a standout. Kinda bland tasting honestly, had to salt it up some. The ribeye was cooked about perfect to medium rare as I like it. Tasted like simple salt and pepper, but not overly salty, to me anyway. Good basic steaking here folks, nothing fancy, and easily equal, if not better than more popular steak joints around town. It was a good cut, with an acceptable amount of fat to it. A very good steak. Probably better than other recent visits to other joints, and at about $ 30, a lot better price. After all this being so good, I was worried they were going to be serving some kind of Cheesecake Factory blasphemy of a carrot cake. Some huge, cold served monstrous slab of mediocrity. I was big time wrong, it was just the right sized serving of in house carrot cake, and whoever tried it at the table said it was the best they’ve had in memory, and I agree with that. It’s fantastic, the glaze icing on it is great and stands out just as much as the cake itself. My meal was above what I was expecting. Service was very good. No one at the table had any problems with service. Couple friends said it was some of the best prime rib they’d had, seared tuna and filet were raved about. I also sampled others grilled asparagus which was very good, and the maque choux corn side was different and really good, spicy. The resident crème brûlée ho’ in the group said theirs was very good, but it also looked like it was prepared very well. Anyway, if I was a ratings goofball, I would give it a five to make up for some of the lower ratings, but hey, it’s easily four stars overall, and I’ll stick with that. The bar has a good happy hour that would be nice to frequent regardless of if I was dining in. Décor isn’t trendy or hip, but I honestly don’t care about that kind of thing. It was clean, and that’s enough for me. We could hear other diners making good comments, and even some stranger in a party leaving, directly said to us «it doesn’t get much better than this, does it?». No kidding, can’t remember the last time that happened. This is probably going to be a neighborhood favorite, it might not make any big time lists anywhere, sadly, but I’ll be looking forward to the next visit.

Meh! See the other review(salad bar is the best thing): need we say more? I don’t mind paying for quality, and they may indeed buy quality meats, but the kitchen does a great job of ruining it all. Pass them by: anyone praising this place is either paid, a relative, or doesn’t go out much.
