I ordered a full dinner meal. The fish was Fair but the mashed potatoes were instant and the veggies were boiled squash, not real butter. The salad was OK and the ranch dressing was good. I wanted a baked potato but they didn’t have any that night.

We were going to town after cross country skiing. Almost everything in the town was closed for the winter. They had all you could eat spaghetti with meat sauce. When you have been working out all day big portions are really nice. My friend got the pot pie which was good. A couple of people also liked there fruit pie. They had a vegetarian option for my friend.

I know this town is small and I wasn’t expecting much, but the food here was terrible. My spaghetti was overlooked and the mashed potatoes and vegetables were cold. This might be some of the worst food I have ever had. We didn’t have many options, but I would suggest anywhere in town besides here.

This is a must visit if you hungry and looking for a souvenir. Gift shop and restaurant/“diner”. Most places closed during winter and this best place the city has to offer. Always have a special on a dry erase board. Friend ordered chili and it was loaded with meat/beans. I got chicken tenders and it was good as it gets… comes with big portion of fries and salad. Brother ordered burger… so good he ate his leftovers cold later that day. Only place I’ve ever seen that offers Coke and Pepsi on the fountain drink. Bottom line the cook seems badass making anything you order spot on. And service was great. They have draft beer…

Got in before 8am on a weekday and the only ones there. Very sweet and friendly waitress. My sausage, mushroom, and swiss omelet was huge, fluffy, and delicious. My friend’s pancakes were fluffy and so good he didn’t want to share.

Stopped in here for breakfast on the way to Panguitch Lake and was very surprised at how good the service and the food was. The place was busy so I figured that it was pretty good or it wouldn’t be that busy. I had the Spanish Omelet with Biscuits and Gravy… YUM! My wife and the people we were with all had the Sausage and Eggs and everything was excellent… especially the sausage, the best! Stopped here again on the way back from the lake on Sunday morning, the place was even busier! And the food was right on par again. Great place, would highly recommend.

This was the only place open in Panguitch at 8AM so we had no other choice for breakfast before hiking in Bryce. It looked bad and old but it was crowded. Probably because that was the only place open in Panguitch on Sunday morning. We waited about ten minutes to order but the waitress was very nice. We ordered breakfast special which consisted of 3 pancakes, 2 bacon strips and fried egg. It was not that bad as we expected after reading reviews on Unilocal. It was acceptble so don’t be afraid to eat there. You’ll be fine :)

I’ve been through Panguitch, a few times, and we always stop for Turkey Pot pie. Don’t forget to try their Hot Blueberry pie Ala mode. To die for.

We attempted to eat at the Flying M for breakfast on our way back home from visiting Bryce Canyon. We were seated within 10 minutes, however it took the staff 20 minutes before they would take our order. Once our order was placed, our food didn’t arrive. We were finally given coffee after waiting 30 minutes. After an hour of waiting for our meal, we gave up, and went to pay for our coffee. At that point, they came and told us our food was ready, but we were ready to be on our way. The staff was pleasant, there just wasn’t enough of them, and they shouldn’t have seated people if they were unable to accommodate them, in our opinion.

Inept doesn’t cover it. Terrible coffee, keep on trucking. It’s the only game around but you’re better off with the gas station, or better yet go to beaver or rubys inn.

Had to wait to be seated. Looks good due to the wait. We were seated without a menu. 20 minutes later as I was getting up to leave we get a menu. OK, we stay. 20 minutes later a waitress takes our drink orders. OK, so coffee, waiter and tea doesn’t take 20 minutes does it? We get our drinks and waitress starts walking away! I said we would like to order now. She is shocked, but takes our order. Our order took about 10 minutes. Overcooked eggs. Why were we here? There are not any good places for breakfast in the Bryce, Panguitch area from what we can find on the internet. Just go the the gas station and get a breakfast sandwich you can microwave!

Great American food, serving size was good and I loved the feisty service. They offer homemade soups and lies worth the room and a great small town diner feel.

Service sucked. I’ve never had anyone tell me they were too busy to modify a food order. I simply requested my scrambled eggs to have some veggies added in. The waitress told me there were so many people they could only do the specific things on the menu. So if I wanted any vegetables at all I had to order the veggie omelet and get all of them. The eggs were kind of rubbery, but the rest of the food was average. On the plus side… the apple juice was good.

Had breakfast at the counter and it was excellent. Wait staff was local to the core and a lot of fun. This is a locals joint. A great place to strike up a conversation and get to know the area. Have no idea what lunch and dinner are like here. If you want a hearty American breakfast, this will hit the spot.

We walked in and saw a a huge homemade cinnamon roll under glass on the counter and a sign boasting homemade pies. We thought we had hit the jackpot. But then the servers spent their sweet time seating us and as we sat we noticed that the kid’s meals were $ 9!!! But we thought all homemade would be delicious so we decided to stay. Our food came out the fries tasted like the oil was old, the portions weren’t that big(my husband’s adult burger was the exact same burger as my son’s kids meal — both small), and none of the food was spectacular. We had to ask the waitress for my husband’s drink he had ordered and ask again for his refill. It wasn’t that busy they were just not very aware of us. We ended up spending $ 75 for 2 adult meals and 4 kid’s meals. I would never go back. I’m sure they just get all the out of towners that don’t know any better.

This restaurant was right across the street from our motel when we were staying in Panguitch, UT to explore Bryce Canyon. We gave in and ate here the last night we were in Panguitch. Place is old and out-dated, but really, there’s no surprise there. The staff does make up for it in being very nice and on top of their food service. I opted to get the fish and chips, minus the chips and did their salad bar instead. The salad bar was meager, but at least it got me some much needed greens and veggies I had been missing since we got to this food desert. I was pleased to see they offered vinegar and olive oil, but I was sad to see the croutons were all gone from their cup, and many of the other non-salad items had been already taken by previous diners. The two strips of fish I was served were small in portion, but at least they filled me up, kind of. My husband opted for the chicken strip meal with fries — I had one, and only one because they were not good. Here’s a plus — the place serves beer and my husband and I split a Stella. We also split an apple pie(homemade), but they were out of ice cream for the pie. Womp womp. Overall, I would say, you can eat here if you are in Panguitch and be marginally satisfied.

I’m 99% sure the waitress hated me, and 100% sure my turkey pot pie was microwaved. I know there’s not a lot of options, but if your driving through and looking for something to eat… keep on driving.

Jody is a breath of fresh air, despite being extremely busy she was attentive and hilarious… As I sit here writing this I miss her already… This place is so cool, it’s like a time warp into American diner culture. Until next trip Flying M, we will miss you!!!

Flying M: A destination for the hungry, weary traveler who wants to skip the fast food and have a hot meal at a mom and pop shop before hitting the road again. It’s an older restaurant that caters to both locals and travelers. Don’t expect an array of breakfast selections like you would at an IHOP or a Denny’s. The back page menu features standard breakfast items ranging from omelettes to pancakes. Nothing really stood out to me except for one breakfast combo, but I had to be of AARP age to order it. French Toast: It was basic and nothing special. No powdered sugar. Not even an option to add some syrupy fruit toppings. I had to improvise and use the pre-packaged Smucker’s jellies to smear all over each slice of toast. Service: The good thing is that food is made to order, but the service is SLOW. We waited almost an hour for our food to arrive. The waitresses are well aware that orders come out at a snail’s pace, so they tell patrons it’s due to their small kitchen grill. They do come around often to refill any empty cups of coffee in attempts to keep hungry customers satisfied. Other: The bathroom stalls in the women’s restroom are missing locks — makes for a great conversation starter with the person in the stall next to you. Overall: From a traveler’s perspective, if you’re in a rush just fly by this place altogether and grab some fast food instead. Otherwise, expect to wait, and wait, for your food to arrive.
