Hampton Inn & Suites – Panama City Beach/Pier Park Area

Check your accounts if you stay here. On a recent business trip, we had two separate incidents. 1. My credit card was charged for an additional night ($ 202) even though I was provided a receipt at checkout with correct charges. When I called to ask about charges, I just got a «we will refund the account» with no explanation of why my card was charged. 2. Government rate is only available if you stay a full week, otherwise, u are looking at $ 179. 3. My co-​worker booked at the government rate because he had to stay for a full week (gvt rate $ 83/​night). When he was unable to arrive on time, he was charged full rate at $ 179 (even though he didn’t stay), LOST his reservation, and had to pay regular rate to keep the reservation. He could not get first night reimbursed. he ended up staying at another hotel due to company policy. 4. Hotel is in a terrible location and not within walking distance to anywhere. Not even Pier Park.
Save yourself the headache and do not stay here… Even if you are a Hilton Honors member, the points are not worth it!

I would give this place four stars. However, the staff are very rude. I’ve been to a ton of Hilton properties and I was very disapointed in this one.

We had booked at the Wyndom Bay Point but it was all but closed. I found this property by checking Unilocal on my cellphone. A very nice young man was able to get me a smoking room at military rates. Every at the hotel was very polite and helpful. Enjoyed our stay except for the ATT wi-​fi. Hilton needs to address this with ATT.

very nice hotel, with a decent loction. The staff coukd be much nicer, not rude at all but just did not seem like they cared. wanted to see the famous beach but i am happy that i did not book several days. not worth the trip.
Could book again if in the area.

I’ve always been a big Hampton Inn fan. This place was a home-​run. The staff was very nice and helpful. They also greeted us every time I walked in, even if they were assisting another guest. The beds were extremely comfortable, the rooms were very clean and overall a very comfortable stay, and if I ever find myself in PCB again I will stay here.
It is pretty close to Pier Park and other attractions, but not too close so you are in the middle of all the action.
The only negative I can think of is that they do not have full-​time housekeeping staff. One morning I did not make it out till 11:30 and when I asked if I could get housekeeping to my my room, they told me they had already left for the day. For some strange reason they said they gave me towels, but I never received them since I had my DND on my door.

Very new, well maintained Hampton Inn with extremely large rooms. Front desk staff is both friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fairly good and the gym was nice and clean.
As I said the rooms are very large and I want to expand on that a bit: if one clears out the furniture in the middle of the room, the room is big enough to work out in, use as a small dance floor, or sleep 6 people in sleeping bags comfortably. I didn’t actually do any of these things but I am providing this comparison just for reference purposes.
