Cathy is a truly caring, intuitive and warm person. Her «office» has a relaxing vibe (and the subtle smell of essential oils adds to the serenity factor). An oasis to forget your troubles and stress and quiet your mind. I would highly recommend if you want to find some peace for a hectic life!

Cathie is amazing! I came for my first session when she first opened South Bay Reiki and Wellness and I fell in love with Cathie’s warm and nurturing healing! Today we are here because my son came into town last night and woke up not feeling so hot. Called Cat and she fit us right in for a reiki session and some essential oil therapy! Cat is amazing! I have gone to her twice now for an anxiety issue (coupled with an unrelated neck pain – fun!), and I felt much better after just one session! I had never tried Reiki, and wasn’t sure what to expect, but I loved it. The environment is serene and comfortable, and I come out feeling sooo relaxed.

My experience with Cat started off great, and ended FANTASTIC! Upon texting her to request a session, she responded within 10 minutes. This immediately impressed me, as it let me know that she is truly focused and dedicated to helping people. In just one session with Cat, I have already made strides in getting over a lot of emotional struggles that I have been holding for over 1 ½ years, and I feel empowered when it comes to thinking about my future (something that I haven’t felt in a very long time). The session was highly relaxing and beneficial, but most importantly, the tools she equipped me with to help me post-​session — when it is hardest to stay centered and relaxed — have already helped me take a more positive outlook and implement changes to get me on the road to having a happy heart. I believe in all forms of medicine, from doctors to holistic healers. If you’ve been experiencing physical ailments and visited doctors looking for answers only to find none (as I was), it’s time to look within to your emotional spirit. And, the best place to start doing that is with Cat. Her approachable, friendly, understanding practice may be just what you need to start feeling better, happier, and healthier.

I have been sick for over a year and receiving reiki from Cat is the only thing that has made me feel better. After a reiki session with Cat I leave feeling calm, comfortable, pain and stress free. I also love that Cat incorporates Young Living essential oils into the reiki session. I know that it helps with the energy, making her sessions more effective. I was able to encourage my husband to go despite the fact that he is skeptical of things. He immediately became a believer and now loves coming to see Cat. I love how beautiful Cat’s office smells even down the hallway. Cat really cares about her clients which is so rare these days. She is so caring, so empathetic, and offers other suggestions to improve your health. I wish more people in the world were as sweet and beautiful as Cat is!!! I love Cat so very much!

I have to admit that I was a skeptic but I heard so much from other people I decided to find out for myself. Boy, for all you skeptics, just go for a session — it’s amazing. I was completely zoned out and felt revived, refreshed and rejuvenated when I left. It’s powerful stuff and Cat is just the person to take you to that undiscovered place in your mind,

Cat is thorough, warm, approachable and instantly put me at ease when it came to my first time receiving reiki. I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly I relaxed and went into this semi– meditative, semi-​nap mode under Cat’s angelic hands. Since the reiki few days ago, I’ve felt more conscious about being in a state of calm, especially around my two young kids. I’d definitely recommend anyone considering receiving reiki as a way to de-​stress and find their «center» to be more grounded to give Cat’a treatment a try.

I have to agree with the other reviewers. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect on my first visit to Cathie but after the first treatment I felt much more relaxed and peaceful. I think the combination of the conversation, music, aromatheraphy and the reiki was very effective. This is a treatment that many people would benefit from both in mind and body.

I didn’t know what Reiki was or what to expect but felt compelled to find a «hands on» holistic healer in my area. After finding Cat on Unilocal and seeing the positive reviews I decided she was the practitioner I wanted to see. I felt comfortable from the moment I sat down and talking to her about what was going on in my life was very easy. The reiki session was like nothing I’ve ever experienced but I could actually feel movement and visualize what was going on (even though my eyes were close). Following my session I felt revitalized and smiled for what must have been a good hour. I don’t really know how to describe something I don’t fully understand but reiki works! If you’re having any issues you are trying to work through or have something going on physically, please give Cat a try and see for yourself what the healing power of reiki can do for you!

Let me preface this review by disclosing that Cat and I have been friends since 2000 but it took me until a couple of years ago to recognize that I needed her Reiki skills to help me through a very difficult time in my life. She was incredibly patient in waiting for me to receive a treatment, but after the first one, I was an absolute, without a doubt true believer in the power of healing through Reiki.
During a Reiki session I am able to completely turn off my mind to the outside pressures and stressors and relax. A combination of the calm atmosphere of her office, the soothing music, the faint aromatherapy in the room and of course her ability to use touch as a powerful method of healing all attributed to my ‘conversion’.
I find myself recommending Reiki to many friends who are experiencing health and emotional issues as I feel it is a better option than pharmaceuticals and expensive medical treatments. Far too often, a physician reaches for a prescription pad when in fact a modality like Reiki can make a huge impact on the health and well-​being of a person experiencing any kind of imbalance, physical, spiritual, emotional or otherwise.
Cat brings a high degree of skill as well as a solid educational background to her practice and I highly recommend her without reservation!

I cant say enough good things about Reiki and how amazing it is. Cathie is someone that I will definitely be going back to and I recommend South Bay Reiki and Wellness to anyone who is looking for an amazing positive relaxing experience. Okay… I am usually a skeptic on These kinds of «healing processes»…such as chiropractic treatment techniques, healing Oils and Scents… BUT, as I enter the Beautifully located Therapy Location? I am impressed ! very relaxing surroundings, AND a view of the Ocean from the Chair I was sitting as (owner) Cathie English described our upcoming session. once the session started, I could smell the incense and felt the tranquil mode that Cathie was promoting with the music and my eyes were closed. By the end of the hour? i was transformed into a new person… as if I had a one hour massage!

Cat made this a really great experience! I had no idea what to expect, nor did I really know what Reiki was, besides being touch therapy. I arrived at her office to the smell of some sort of delicious scent. I walked in, she greeted me with a welcome smile, and we discussed my reasons for the visit and what I hoped to achieve out of the experience. I came in out of curiosity really, not for reasons clients usually come in (pain management, stress, relaxation), and was really just open to the experience.
After our discussion, I hopped on the massage-​looking table and she explained exactly what she was going to do. During the session, Cat would grasp different parts of the body, starting from the head, then to the neck, arms, and so on around the body, for about 10 minutes, facilitating the flow of energy. In my personal experience, my body went through phases where the flow of energy felt heightened, relaxed and semi-​conscious. Time really just flew by, and afterward, I was able to actually feel the energy flowing through my body.
Afterwards, she spent a great deal of time answering any of the questions I had, and I was able to learn so much about Reiki from Cat! I would highly recommend this to anyone who is curious, has pain, stress or wants to feel rejuvenated in their body… Very comfortable and welcoming environment, and Cat is awesome!

Absolutely amazing! I’m type A personality, never really relax and stressed all the time. Cathie was able to make me feel fresh and rejuvenated in one session. She was able to tell that I have a bad shoulder (from a car accident over 20 years ago) and made it feel sooo much better. Had no idea what reiki is until I met Cat — thank you, thank you!
