I really do not understand all the rants and raves over this restaurant. Everything is under par except I will say that the food is a solid 4 stars. The wine list isn’t a good selection, and there is no hard liquor even though they sell wine based drinks. The restaurant was pleasantly quiet, as there were probably only 2 other tables being occupied. I have been here about 3 times, as it is in a convenient location, just blocks from my mother and my daughter.

Casual dining with good food at a very reasonable price. Our waiter, John, was personable and efficient. The oil and garlic condiment was great on the tasty warm bread it was served with. My wedge salad with crumbled bacon, cherry tomatoes, and chunky blues cheese dressing was presented well and was as good as any wedge I have had anywhere. No complaints. My entrée was one of the evening’s specials – seared ahi tuna, cooked exactly as requested. It was served with perfectly cooked al dente vegetables and a scoop of rice. A bargain at $ 24.95. My friend had the chicken dijon which she said was very tasty. Must have been because she devoured it along with the same perfectly cooked vegetables and a scoop of mashed potatoes. The owner came over to say hello and thank us for coming which was a very nice touch. All in all a good place to go for a relaxed dinner with good food at reasonable prices.

My new favorite restaurant. Recently had a birthday event there. Gave us a private room. Loved the food and great service. Super accommodating. Easy parking. Nadia is extremely friendly. Will definitely continue to come here

This diamond in the rough streets of Rancho Palos Verdes was truly a life saver. Seriously. My fiancée wanted to find an engagement photo shoot spot so we made the trek to the coast before the«Golden Hour» of photography, and by the time we were done it was 5pm and I was dying of hunger(or boredom. I hope she doesn’t read this.) Luckily Unilocal pulled through as always and directed us to this top rated restaurant. The food was amazeballs. Even the complimentary bread and garlic was legit and super garlicky. The creamy pesto chicken was almost as good as the cioppino(which is paaaaaacked with yummy sea meat creatures). I don’t like when the clams point at me from their shells though. Overall, come for the food, the scenic drive, and the friendly service by owner Nadia. Nice to meet you Nadia, see you next time!

Wonderful experience at the PV Grill! The food was delicious and the service was really good. The owner(Nadia) visited the table to make sure all was good which was a nice touch. The prices were fair and left feeling happy that we found a new local restaurant to enjoy. We will be back soon.

Wonderful family meal at PV Grill. Grilled Salmon and Grilled Mahi Mahi were delicious. The rice with the Mahi Mahi was the best rice ever. Try the Lobster Bisque. Wedge and Chopped Salads were great too. Ask owner, Nadia, for recommendations — she will not steer you wrong.

Together with another couple, my wife and I came to PV Grill for dinner couple of weeks ago and were so pleased with every plate we ordered. The calamari as a starter was tender and delicious. Our main dishes(veal parmesan, NY steak, Ahi tuna And scallops) were all very tasty and well prepared. We were also very pleased with the service. Our waiter John was extremely friendly and helpful with his recommendations and the owner(Nadia) makes you feel welcomed. We came to PV Grill one more time last week(6 people) and experienced the same delicious food and exquisite service. We highly recommend this restaurant

We had gone here for a party in October. Nadia graciously accommodated my mom for group of 20 in the private room that they have. The food was great and the atmosphere was great. The privacy of the room was wonderful considering the restaurant was full due to another event going on inside the restaurant. Everything was wonderful

Met a girlfriend for happy hour on a Tuesday, and was pleasantly surprised. Incredible deals on delicious appetizers, great wine selection, and the service was so warm and personal. I was sad that the place so empty, because I would hate to lose this place. I’ll definitely be going back. I’ll bring my kids and my family and my friends. This one’s worth keeping.

Came here tonight with my parents for their birthdays. We thoroughly enjoyed every drop!!! We started with the calamari and the artichoke. The calamari was the most tender I’ve ever had! Loved the garlic dip served with bread as well. My dad got the seared ahi special and ate every bite. By husband got the short ribs and literally cleaned his plate. My mom got a steak and shrimp scampi special and it was amazing! I was stealing bites off of hers all night. And lastly, I got the salmon, co fresh a delicious! We were all picking off each other’s plates. On top of everything, they brought us over the most DELICIOUS cake! You must eat here :) Nadia, the owner is the sweetest and we will be back! Thank you Nadia :)

The restaurant is tucked away so be sure to look for it. The interior is somewhat dated but was clean. The garlic dipping sauce for the bread is VERY strong so beware. The New England Clam Chowder had too much cream vs. clams, so you definitely tasted the cream. My husband enjoyed his Dijon Chicken and there was enough to take home for lunch the next day. The Brussels sprouts were swimming in balsamic vinegar and almost inedible. The owner, Nadia, couldn’t have been more warm, friendly, or attentive. I do hope she is able to work out the kinks with the chef so that her restaurant makes it for the long term. We so appreciated the complimentary piece of coconut cake she sent us home with and it was delicious. And, should we find ourselves in PV again, we will definitely stop by.

Came here on a Friday evening to celebrate my girlfriend’s birthday and try out a new place with only positive reviews but unfortunately came home disappointed. It was fairly quiet, only about 6 other people in there but perhaps it’s not too well known yet due to it being relatively new. The waiter started out OK and took our order and brought us bread but once our food arrived showed a lack of attentiveness. He was everywhere but at our table. I ordered the short rib and the mashed potato that it came with was lumpy, bland and not at all creamy. There was no salt and pepper on the table to try and improve the seasoning and since I was unable to get help with these from the waiter I ended up putting some garlic oil on it from the bread which helped a bit. The short rib itself was quite fatty. One piece of fat that I left on my plate was so big the waiter actually asked if I wanted to a box to take it home — it was the only thing left on the plate. My girlfriend’s Angel hair pasta shrimp was about the only good thing from the visit. The restaurant is in a little courtyard but the atmosphere was let down by the same 5 or so traditional Spanish songs on repeat. By the time we had finished we were hearing all the same music for the second time. I wanted to like the place but can’t say I’ll be coming back.

Went expecting good food but found excellent food and very attentive service. Had blue crab appetizer(from Maryland so this was a test order ;)) and for our main course Seafood a La Mare w/Linguine and Salmon Linguine, add a bottle of wine, two very nice deserts and WOW all sooo good! Last but not least, THECHECK… Also all good! Under $ 100 for all(before tip).

We heard the buzz about this restaurant and tonight we decided to give a try. It was a great choice! The staff was welcoming and very professional, the food was fresh and delicious and we heard there is live music on Friday’s and Saturday’s. We will certainly be back very soon! Thank you!

Don’t come within six feet of me. I just ate enough garlic to knock somebody out at close range if I breathe in their direction. And boy was it good. When my bread basket came out with a bowl of fresh garlic in oil, they had me. I loaded as much garlic as possible onto one piece of super-fresh, warm, crusty bread… and poured the rest over the rice that came with my entrée. I haven’t been to PV Grill since it replaced Lunada Bayhouse. They’re not open for lunch any day, but opened today, Sunday, at 4pm… and I was outside waiting, hungry. This is a very cute restaurant, off the beaten track, next to pretty little Lunada Bay Park. Free parking everywhere in the surrounding area. Prices are reasonable. My dinner of seared scallops, a generous portion, was $ 21.95. Everything was perfectly cooked, including veggies. Even the green beans were tender, & scallops not overcooked. Piped-in piano music was delightful, peaceful. Great service. I love a waiter with a delightful thick accent. I’ll go back to try one of their steaks & maybe the pork tenderloin. I’m sure the locals appreciate this fine addition to the neighborhood. And a lovely neighborhood it is, just a few blocks from the scenic ocean bluffs.

Large portions, food quality and taste above average, nice ambience; good for a quiet intimate dinner with a loved one and family. Easily overlooked due to location but highly recommend if you are in the area.
