I would not recommend the resturaunt. The food is ok nothing to special, the service is horrible and is expensive.

We went on Dec. 9 and the door was open, but the restaurant was completely dark. Kinda creepy. They are changing ownership and will reopen. I gave 3 stars because there is no way to make a neutral comment.

Good Mexican food and great atmosphere. They have a full bar and a great happy hour. I am joyed my dinner, chili Verde burrito. I will definitely go back. A great local place. Thanks to Unilocal I found this restaurant.

Margaritas are excellent. I especially love the Watermelon Jalapeño margarita. I’ve always had fantastic food here.

I will admit that we didn’t order truly traditional Mexican fare, so I can’t attest to its authenticity, but what we ordered was fresh, very tasty, and of excellent quality. The interior was bright and cheery. My margarita was excellent. The meat in my husband’s salad was the best tasting restaurant beef I’ve ever had. Juicy, tender, flavorful. The shrimps were large and fresh, and plump. The salsa was just terrific.

It’s really hit or miss at this joint. I’ve had some great food here and I have had some mediocre meals as well. Plus, they like to close up shop well before their advertised closing so you’ll get there and there closed.

Considering the lack of options in and around PV, this place hits the spot when I am craving Mexican.

I am amazed by the for stars on this place. Nothing to return to as we sat there and looked through the menu the bartender was very nice and made my husband and I wonderful top shelf margarita. However it went down hill from there. A gentleman took over the service and was gone more then there. We sat at the end of the meal for almost 20 minutes just to have our credit card run. The restaurant tho a bit full still needs more staff or something else. The food was not worth the price. There were an abundance of chips and salsa until the buck got passed to another bartender. With two beers, two margaritas, and two plates of food we spent almost 70.

Decent Mexican food. Not amazing but not terrible either. Nice location with an ocean view. If you live in the area, it’s a good place to settle on when you don’t feel like driving down«the hill» and are craving Mexican. It’s kid friendly but there’s also a separate bar area. We came on a Wednesday night and it was pretty dead. We were wondering if it’s different on the weekends. It’s hard to tell since this is PV and the location itself is not easy to find if you are just driving by. The service was great. Our waitress was Nadia and she was very nice and checked on us often. I do think we will be back again to try other dishes. Do I recommend this place? Yes but only if you don’t want to drive out of the PV bubble or don’t know any better when it comes to Mexican food. Otherwise I can name a couple of Mexican restaurants that are awesome that are down«the hill».

Just finished eating here tonight. Our first time here too. Hostess was not very friendly, waited for someone to take our order, then waited and waited and waited for the food. Looked like everyone else was waiting too. Have to say the enchiladas were good! Enjoyed the extra spicy green salsa. After dinner waited like 20 min for the bill. Finally asked server for bill and she kept helping others. Went into bar and asked that server for bill. Better not be in any hurry when you come here.

I love this place. Excellent food and always fresh. Delicious mole sauce and beautiful atmosphere. It’s so hidden but such a good mexican restaurant. It’s worth the drive.

I love this place but they have the worse service ever! If you ever want a refill on your drink or a new basket of chips you need to sit in the bar area.

Normally don’t do the 5 star thing, but great Mexican food, excellent location. What more can you want? Salsa and chips are excellent. Apparently they grow their own tomatoes for the salsa, and there is no oil on the chips. Had steak fajitas and were perfect.

One of the best Mexican restaurants in the south bay in my opinion. The atmosphere is very relaxed and the food was authentic. I wish they were opened a little later but for the quality, it’s worth the early dinner.

We went for the first time a few weeks ago, and were pleasantly surprised by this local Mexican restaurant. The food and drinks were delicious, the ambience comfortable and warm. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we definitely will be returning.

Okay, where tuh’ start, where tuh’ start??? Dined here just last weekend; the Sunday prior to Thanksgiving. Decided to leave Belmont Shores, enjoy the weather and take a drive. Being in real estate(the legal side) I visited a few open houses and stumbled upon Alfredo Garcia’s while perusing through PV. What I can absolutely validate is the fact that most if not all of the Unilocal reviews seem to be pretty spot on. The posted signs are a bit juxtaposed when compared to the actual consistency of the establishment. I arrived at 3(I believe) and verbiage/signage(I’m not certain if it was the restaurant’s or Unilocal’s, so I won’t go pointing fingers)…alleged the establishment being closed for an hour or so following lunch only to reconvene an hour or so later. No biggie, I thought. Having not been on any sort of official time slot and simply out to enjoy the day, I elected to exhaust an hour at the beach and thought what better opportunity to cruise around — only to return and see that the establishment was open the ENTIRE hour that I was away. There was actually a party of 8 or so already inside dining and enjoying cocktails let alone a few sports enthusiasts within the bar area. Uhm… Okay??? Someone should seriously look into this. Anyway…per chivalry regulations, I held the door for a pretty lil’ señora who by the luck of the Irish just so happened to be the bartender HOWEVER I walked in only to be greeted(if that’s what you actually want to call it) by a man I was made aware of later on,…to have been the owner. The tone of his voice«Do you need something» …NOT–«Welcome, can I help you?» OR–«Good afternoon. Will you be dining alone?» — simply upon my mere walk in made it nothing short of apparent that African Americans don’t frequent this location on a routine basis. — — -Let’s do the math. This is a restaurant and… I’m walking in. It’s not exactly rocket science that I’m there to eat genius. No. Really— In either event, upon being seated and as another review indicated, the views are gorgeous. The chips and salsa didn’t disappoint either and refills on them were plentiful. Thank God for my having been a gentleman to the bartender upon entry. Her recommended margarita packed a helluva’ punch and the ensalada I elected upon, served complete with camarones, pollo AND asada was well received. While I can’t attest that I wouldn’t return here within the future, I’m definitely deducting a point for the way that I was received per my initial walk in. Hell. The quickest turnaround was when it came to swiping a brutha’s credit card. The bill summed the amount of $ 32…and I was APPROVED. Imagine that — - It’s damn near 2015 and we’ve got an African American President for crying out loud. Can we please face that fact that«black» folks with money actually DO exist and collectively move the hell on already??? Please and Thank You–

very yum, we finally went here to get some mexican food, and it was really good. menu has a great selection to chose from. i got the«big ass your pants wont fit tomorrow» burrito. i had them put mole on it and it was really good. got a few kids meals and they were really good as well, not your average lame mexican food, this stuff was good. had a few drinks from the full bar. place itself is nice, low key, clean, service was A+. great kids menu selections. prices were fair for the amount and quality of food we got. we will go back for sure !!

Located right in the heart of PV, you will be pleasantly surprised to find such a yummy Mexicano restaurant. Really. From their house specialties and margaritas, to their wait and hostess staff, AG is well-rounded, totally worth the trek from across LA to get here. An added plus — the path to AG from whichever direction will take you by the Pacific O. Breathtaking. My friend and I shared the guac dip and chips. Fresh! Chips were yum too. We both had house specials — chonchinita pibil(marinated pork shoulder wrapped in banana leaves) and chile rellenos. The chonchinita pibil was so tender and tasty! It was served with habanero pickled red onions which sounds hot but it wasn’t. The poblano peppers stuffed with goat cheese and covered in oregano-ey tomato sauce made my friend’s heart smile! The peppers were super fresh and perfectly cooked. Not too much sauce to overtake the freshness. Portion sizes are shareable especially if you go for the guac and have a margarita or 2! The Lungarita — grapefruit and pomegranate margarita was so refreshing, though I could have used a bigger glass! Next visit: Sunday breakfast! Make up an excuse to check AG out! Quick tip: Call ahead to make sure they are open because sometimes they alter their hours at their discretion if it’s a slower night.

What’s for Sunday breakfast? How ’bout guacamole and coconut shrimp? I didn’t even realize this restaurant had experienced an ownership/name/menu change and a nice remodel. I like the yellow chairs! Alfredo Garcias was very peaceful & quiet on this foggy Sunday morning. I sat at a window table with a distant ocean view. Service was perfection. The complimentary chips, served warm, were possibly the best I’ve ever had: thin & light. My brunch came from the starter menu: Guacamole($ 6.95) was excellent. Coconut shrimp($ 10.95) were huge, fresh, tender, flavorful. I ate too damn much, is what happened here. I reached my max midway through the meal, but kept on eating because it was so good. The restaurant is next to Lunada Bay Park & ample free parking is everywhere, always. The food was a great value. Just wish I’d had the good sense to bring half those shrimp home for dinner. I will definitely be back for more, very soon. As soon as I work off all the calories from today’s gluttony.
